⭐️⭐️ Wow!! That Roy Harper recording that Andrew says to start listening to from about the 10:00 mark, it really is FAR OUT!! It sounds very good, but also it’s an outstanding performance that continues to grip me and impress me for much longer than I would have thought possible! It proves that sometimes the BEST place to look for outstanding “new” music to light your fires and make you feel thrilled to be alive… is to the past! 😃👍👍 ✌️
Great video! Andrew and I were both freelance Synclavier operators in Los Angeles around the same time, I had my own room at Westlake Audio for a while and also was working with Bruce Nazarian, and we were doing the same kind of LA hustle. Later I owned a few systems and we both got to work with some really amazing people through the Synclav. I loved knowing Andrew as he was smart and kind and our kids were born around the same time so we had a lot in common to relate to each other about. It was a really amazing time in production and the community of people like Andy Potvin and Damon Kelleher and Hans Tobeasan and all the amazing people who were working with Synclavier in Los Angeles and New York were just a great group of smart talented guys exploring technical and creative possibility Andrew and I lost touch over the years, but I always enjoyed following his adventures and hearing great things about him. Thanks for the great interview, a real pleasure to hear where he is at these days!.
Really sorry I missed this live, but so great after the fact! 2X speed makes Andrew sounds like air traffic control in NY. Thanks all for opening your bags for us.
Great that we finally see Andrew Scheps in that wonderful format. I wish there had been an announcement on puremix that the talk would be streaming so I would have had a chance to throw in a question of my own, though.
Since vinyl is going so strong, how is that handled if a record is mixed first in Atmos? Is an "automatic" fold down used, or is it manually QC'd down to stereo for the vinyl? Cheers!
The difference in audio level made this difficult to listen to. I'm not sure why an audio channel wouldn't know to check something as basic as that. I had the choice between either not hearing Mark or having my ears blasted off by Andrew.
