It’s been 27 years since the “do Gooders” here in Oregon voted down our bear and lion hunting. Not to get off topic, but is there something to their eyes turning green Brett? The lion that snuck up on me in Northern California had eyes like the grass in my avatar. Does that mean they're pissed? She definitely was. I thought she had me. I'd camped about 100 feet from her kittens. Good thing she was well fed. This was a great interview. Meh,hunted and seen Mike Leonard hounds....put em on a mean bear, even cold trailing.I love your uploads and desert hunting but I've seen too many of those hot nosed walkers either quit or trash.Any hound can tree a hot lion track, not many dogs or strains can stay with a mean bear, let alone trail up an older lion track.I am no pro,I got my dogs years ago,I mean years, there was better, some out of Northern Idaho, mixed breed out of the east Kootenay of BC,Washington, Oregon. Bought a decent Walker out of a line from the Kootenay, my buddy had bought many from Mike, zero success but the man did honor his buyback and I'll give him top marks for that.As cold trailing,gritty,running/treeing Walker dogs is what they are....I'm not slamming him but damn, they can't cold trail like some of yours or fight a bear like mine.Mine aren't cold trailers in the dirt, but they catch, yours cold trail way better....Leonard's have neither except the odd one out of 50.Im saying from watching and performing, never owned one after I saw the first.
