I wish they showed more of the fifth dimension scene so we could see how it used to look with everything working. It makes sense they wanted to keep that a secret though.
As well as the actual ride system. If people were shown the actual elevator, it would ruin the surprise. That's why they used minatures and had teenage actors stand in a giant elevator. It's called marketing.

I believe they should have themed it from the movie: Tower of Terror. It would make more sense in my opinion.
This ride opened 1994, the movie premiered in 1997

For the publicity videos, they used stock footage of people standing in the elevator but there has always been seats.

The people who closed the hotel should have hired a elevator repair guy to fix the elevator that fell an unbeatable speed down.

Kinda weird imagining Disney “built a replica“ of the Hollywood tower hotel just to make money off of a tragedy.
