I did the screwdriver thing (worked just fine). About 5 minutes later I was looking for a cheese knife I like to use, it was way in the back of the drawer...and what do I find? the freaking bottle opener lol :D
hit the neck with a lighter for a couple seconds. i didnt want the cork flying through the air so i just warmed the neck up a bit. drove a screw through it and just pulled it with my hand and it came right out. no fork needed
Thanks a lot buddy. I tried all methods and none of them worked including the shoe. My wife came over and twisted the cap off and said there you go honey. I rolled my eyes at her but she did not see it.
Pk the lighter method es no bueno. The screw method no bueno the shoe pounding method no bueno. Maybe the lesson for me is dont sell every item I posses in a my gourmet kitchen thinking I'm moving back to the states. I'm staying in Mexico and buying two cork screws tomorrow and I'm not ever leaving my kitchen or my possessions again.
Use the flame. That one works, and it’s good to have that long lighter, I’d hate to use one that’s thumb operated. The key didn’t work as well, the cork kept breaking. The idea with the flame is to heat the air because hot air expands, so heat that air pocket in the neck of the bottle, and in a couple of minutes it pops out like a champagne cork. (To properly open champagne, you want to hold the cork and twist the bottle, and keep your hand over the cork so you only hear the faintest of hisses when it opens. Making it pop and spill out is great for the movies, but it wastes champagne and makes it go flat faster. The quieter you open champagne, the better it will be. And don’t let the cork go flying.)
I tried it once with a key, key broke off. Awesome Then I actually had a corkscrew and when I twisted it in and about done the screw broke off. Great 🤦🏽♀️ So looked this up and I used a lighter all around the neck for about a min - min n/a half, grabbed a small serrated knife and was able to pull that baby out really smooth even without using any force! Cheers ❣️🍷🍷🍷🍷
you dont even need to hold the lighter there for a minute. just enough so the glass is warm, but not hot so the cork doesn't fly across the room and shatter a window. Drive a screw in about half an inch and you can just pull it out by yanking on the screw
My key destroyed the cork. Make sure you put the key at the exact angle! Edit: it worked! Just shove the key down the side then push the cork in if it’s destroyed. So happy and it tastes so good. (Apothic crush)
I used my key and as I was trying to push the key into the cork the whole cork just fell in the bottle 😂 still got the wine out which was the main goal lol
We tried the screw and fork. It was a success!!! 🎉🎉🎉 The key is to make sure the screw is almost entirely into the cork so that there’s very little give on the fork.

Thank you for the tips. I tried the key thing and actually, the cork just pushed all the way through so I still got to drink. It really helped because I was overseas and received a bottle of wine from my home country. I finally got the drink it.
Key method worked for me really well! I think doing it at about a 45 degree angle and then twisting it with the teeth of the keys in the direction you’re twisting is the way to go

SO EVEN IF YOU HAVE A CORKSCREW BUT ITS CHEAP AND THE CORK IS CHEAP THE LIGHTER TRICK WILL HELP IMMENSELY!! THANK YOUUU!!*
I've been using a claw hammer and use the claw to pull on the screw instead of the fork idea. It's worked for me. Easier to have one person hold it tight and another to pull it out.
I had a BBQ lighter on my bottle for a few and a half minutes and the cork wouldn't budge. I gave the bottle a minor shake to get the carbonation force behind it and the bottle exploded, from the neck up -- with the cork still stuck in the top. It might work at one minute thus way if you give it a constant shake but it may not be as smooth as you see here.
The heat way worked for me but you have to do for 5 minutes and go all around the neck so you have to move it in circle (the bottle) also needs to be at room temperature or else will explode
The wine gods must have loved me so much today. The lighter method worked for mine. I gave up then left my bottle. When I came back the cork was all the way up and didn’t pop but it’s halfway open so I just pulled it out. 😂
To save yourself the hard work, the screw method works best. But not as seen in the video. You’ll get it out a few cms and then it won’t budge, you have to chip away the protruding cork, screw the screw in deeper, and repeat that a few times and you’ll get it out. It took me 10 minutes and I only cut myself twice 🥴
Bro freaking awesome. Used the screw and worked perfectly need a little strength but easily accomplished. Wanted to try lighter but wasn't to sure how safe that was.
I just wanted a glass while I cleaned and the cork BROKE my wine opener off inside of it so this video was very useful and actually very interesting. I used a screw but this cork was IN there so I used a hammer to pull it out. Thank you for the ideas👌
This vid came in clutch in the middle of a snow storm...heated the top of the bottle with a lighter to loosen the cork, then proceeded with the key method...all I have to do now, is find out how to light my cigs after melting this one! You are the real MVP! 🤣😅🤣😅
I used my keys to open the bottle now im too drunk to find my keys. So i used the empty bottle to break my car window cause i left a spare key in the console where i found another bottle of wine with a complimentary opener
By far the easiest and most quickest efficient safe way for me was using a key I pushed in sideways and turned the bottle slowly as I held the key in place I hardly pulled on it when the key came out I just pulled the fork out. The lighter fluid didn’t work always.
One that ALWAYS works and is clean. Take off your shoe and hit the bottom of the bottle as evenly as you can over and over. Hit it as hard as you can without getting crazy. You can hold the bottle however, even upside down. The cork won't fly out the first whack so you can gauge how it's coming. About halfway out you can grip the cork and wiggle it out. I used this in Alaska quite a bit. Always drinking red wine traveling. I remember it took about 15 wacks. Could be off but it was surprisingly easy.
I tried fire it loosen it up. But it didn't come out it went down the bottle. I had to drink wine with corks sediments from all the puncturing I did with the knife.
One time my friend and I had a really stubborn cork and just a standard corkscrew. Nobody could pull the cork out even with one guy holding the bottle and another guy pulling. Me and my buddy sat on the ground, placed or feet against each other. One guy holding the bottle and the other guy pulling the corkscrew. It finally popped out and we both went flying backwards 🤣 Needless to say, that was by far the most stubborn cork I've ever experienced 🤣🤣💪🥂
@FatBongRipz 420 I always put the neck of my wine bottle in warm water before I use corkscrew. In warm conditiins all substances becomes biger. In cold conditions all substances becomes smaller. It is much easy to open bottle after 1-3 minutes warm water procedure.
I think you guys dont know how to properly use the corkscrew, also, wine always tastes better when cold, never had a problem as such. When using a corkscrew, never pull it out, some have a piece of metal that you can rest against the bottle opening, which you also have to hold in place with your hand, then you push the corkscrew sidewais so that it would lift up safely, kind of like a lever, if you dont have that piece of metal, you just have to use your hand instead, think of how you would open a beer cap, using a lighter.
Понравился метод с зажигалкой, надо будет попробовать. Но а вообще что то слабо в это верится. На видео он так легко протыкает пробку, будто она сделана из масла, наврятли у меня так получится) Нужно будет испробовать эти способы)
I just struggled for 40 min trying to open my wine, finally got it open using a combination of these. They didn't really work, I literally dug the cork out piece by piece. I also broke a knife.
You heat the air pocket between the cork and wine, not the cork. My cork was brittle and also fake, but because I kept the flame moving and stayed in that air pocket, it’s the hot air expanding that pushes the cork out, so it worked.
I tried the thing with the lighter, the key, and the nail. The cork was starting to fall apart. I grabbed a screwdriver and dug it in and lifted up turning the bottle and it came out.
I did it with big screw, but could not use fork, it bend easy, instead i hanged it on the door, came out easy, i could believe, i didnt need put my whole weight. ha ha.
I tried the first method, used all the gas in the lighter I had available and when I went to clean the char off the bottle using the tap to try the second method it perfectly cracked the top off the bottle so I could pull the cork out. Apparently it’s called thermal fracturing! Worth a try if anyone is trying and failing at the first method after some time like I was

Thanks dude. Just exploded the bottle neck off via the burning method. Thankfully the glass missed mine and my partners eyes so technically it payed off. Thumbs up from me.
I don't know how to use corkscrew but I do have a traditional one. I heated the upper part of the bottle like shown in the video for 40 secs and still trying to pull the cork with the corkscrew.. I heated it and then still tried to screw it. It worked! Neither the cork nor the wine "flew". It was smooth pulling without force. Guess the heat reached the cork and made it easier to be pulled out.

I’m out in the openness and realised my wine requires a cork screw.. I tried the putting in the shoe and bashing against the tree it worked!!
WE TRIED THE FLAME METHOD AND IT WORKEDDDD OMGGGG WE’RE FREAKING SHOCK😂😂 thankyouuu!

I put a screw in the cork, then heated it for a minute. It came out SO easily. Thanks for the tip!!!!!!!
This heating hack in combination with some tool to pull works for the most annoying corks which don't open using cork screw :)
I just used a lighter and pliers and was able to get the cork out
Lighter & key
You're full of shit and so is the uploader
Final technique was overkill.
Bought a wine opener after reading all the comments 😆
The house key opened my bottle just now in about 15 seconds. Easy. Thanks
