One of the things no one ever mentions about how impactful Niners WR injuries are to the offense is the fact that the Niners offense and particularly Brock Purdy, has always been centered around timing and anticipation. Brock Purdy is one of the best QBs in the league at making Anticipation throws and Chase Daniel can 100% validate that. And when you are shuffling in 4th, 5th, 6th string pass catchers into the line up, then it throws the whole system out of whack. You can visually see that in the Chiefs game where the ball goes to a spot and Ronnie Bell is in a completely different (WRONG) spot. It also puts more pressure on Brock to be an instinctual thrower instead of an Anticipatory thrower, which he can do sometimes when he's escaping the pocket and playing off schedule, but he is not Josh Allen and can't do that on every down. The point is solid though that the Defense has been inconsistent and at times bad.. especially on 3rd downs.
Can we add coaching woes, offensive/defensive schemes been terrible. Yes players, injuries hurt but eventually have to have a Solid game plan with 2/3 stringers that’s only way they can win.

last year Lamar had the #1 run game, one of the best defenses ever, best TE Duo, top 3 o line, and yet Josh Allen with a worst roster still had a higher QBR, higher PFF QB Grade, more yds and TDs, they only gave the MVP to Lamar because of his wins which was mostly because of his dominant defense

Special teams is a major handicap for this team that no one addressed. To James I would say the last game is when Purdy had a rough time. The previous games he was doing really well. To say the all pros have been there isn’t fair. BA was rusty after the hold in and not playing well. He even dropped a perfect pass before he got injured. Deebo has been in and out injured and then pneumonia. CMC is out. Trent is now getting back to where he was but started out rusty. Jennings has been injured the last couple of weeks. Bell is terrible. Pearsall and Cowing just had their first receptions. How much have they actually been able to prepare? Cowing was hurt during training camp, played against the Saints in preseason and then had only been doing punt returns. Pearsall barely got back. They’re on their third kicker. Green law, Hargrave and Hufanga are gone. I mean it’s really bad. Purdy didn’t play well on Sunday. That’s a fact but there are a lot of other things going on too.
The banged up isn’t really the issue. It’s the offensive play calling. Shanahan isn’t adjusting his play calling to: The schemes defenses are favoring against us (very little zone). Our receivers inability to create separation out of the tight formations he prefers to run. His preference to run plays that take 3 seconds to develop when the O’line can only 2 seconds of protection. Outside of that then yes, being banged up is an issue. But all three of those are bigger issues.

It’s 100% both. The defence is really missing Greenlaw with Campbell being a complete liability at linebacker and both the passing and run defense have been subpar at best. The offense is very inconsistent with how good they perform on both fronts. Mason has been a good fill but he ain’t McCaffrey and the majority of the receivers have been very inconsistent aside from Kittle and Jennings, who have been the only guys that have been trustworthy offensive weapons. I also think Purdy is both trying to do too much and not adjusting well recently. He was playing relatively well until last week but he wasn’t playing like Purdy. More scrambles and circus runs around the pocket than usual and throwing it deep a lot more. The other issue is that it doesn’t look like he has full control of the offense. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him audible or change the play at all because it doesn’t sound like Kyle lets him. Shanahan has not been good when it comes to scheming up plays. There’s so little creativity and he’s not trying to help Purdy when the defense is playing his weaknesses: man coverage and blitzes. Something needs to change or this season will be over very quickly.
Mike tomlin has an elite defense and special teams every year that keeps them in games the quarterback literally just has to play subpar for them to win games they average 3 turnovers a game on defense

Some teams have great coaches, great culture and get alot of injuries and can put reserve, ”mid players”, other teams cut players or practise squad players into that system and still survive, win enough games until their A-team is healthy again. Some teams do not have the same traits or depth in systems from their coaching staff, or the culture is not as strong. So they have a harder time to adjust fast enough when the A-team players get too many injuries. And they look like they ”just” play bad then. So it becomes a combo of ”just banged up” and as a tail to that, they play bad as a consequence, because they do not have as easy of a time to adjust to a scenario like that through coaches, systems, culture. I mean, most or all teams play bad or worse if enough players get injured. The difference is in how much, or how fast they can adjust to playing differently, to survive a period like that. I guess.
This is all on Kyle. He built his game plans around CMC. He hasn't figured out that Mason is not him and that Deebo is not him either. Just look at the game planning. How many screen passes do you see now? How often do you see Mason catching passes?
Crazy thing is they down play special teamers when they are a big reason for the Niners downfall. You don't have respect for someone if they go to speak and suddenly their position matters more than the words.

Kyle has been the reason for at least two of the losses. Yes, the team has had injuries, but the right play-calling and decisions would have won both the Rams and Cardinals games. The team has been inconsistent in all 3 phases. The team needs a new DC and STC for sure. Kyle might need an OC too to keep him from always trying to overcomplicate things

Defense has been bad. Offense is hurt. No Purdy is not the issue. He's been the only real bright spot on the entire team this season. They got him out there with practice quad guys who don't know their routes and weren't even part of working with the 1st team all preseason and season. It's not shocking when you throw bad players into the offense who you haven't worked with that Purdy is going to have a hard time. He's running all over the place trying to make things happen and IMO is the main reason they've even won any games this year. Yes Deebo, Aiyuk, Jennings, and Kittle have played during the season. But actually look at ot each game. Aiyuk came in after the holdout and didn't look ready at all and now he's hurt. Deebo has mossed multiple games. Kittle missed at least 1 game I know. Jennings was probably theor most reliable player and essentially was WR1 when he is supposed to be WR3. Looking at the games it seems like at most they've had 2 of these guys on the field and sometimes 1. That's serious injuries.
The defense is way more healthier than the offense, at some point the 49ers need to show some signs on defense that they are getting better. They have a lot youth at the wide receivers position, now they can just go out there play ball nobody is expecting the 49ers to do anything James said the Niners are bad okay so all the attention is not on us anymore it's on other teams.
“Its on the QB” yet says all these guys have been in the game and talks about how Purdy threw 3 ints last week yet was throwing to 3 new receivers from the practice squad and Shanafraud stopped running the ball for some reason.
I watched Purdy under throw Kittle and the rookie Cowing for tds. Receivers looked good then. By Purdy and Shanny’s own admission Ronnie Bell ran the wrong route and Purdy there’s a horrible pass that got picked. He threw two other bad passes that got picked. Yeah it’s on the Qb. He hasn’t played well this year. 11 total TDS and 9 total turnovers in 7 games.
This brings up the question everyone has asked for 2 seasons… if they’re bad when Purdy doesn’t have 3 offensive superstars and the defense has some guys missing… what will they be when Purdy isn’t feee anymore

HE is stuck on one way, his “ways”of coaching and just about everyone in the league knows what that is. He needs to learn a lesson or two from Andy Reid who is constantly coming up with new ways to play his players, different schemes, “trickeries”…..K.S. Is a young guy and yet he is stuck like an old man who doesn’t want to change his ways! I am tired of hearing that this team will be better IF CMC returns….i hope he doesn’t return! As a Niners fan, both. Defense plays good one game, next game they play bad. Purdy plays well one week, then plays bad next week. Don’t even get me started on special teams….
It’s 100% both. The defence is really missing Greenlaw with Campbell being a complete liability at linebacker and both the passing and run defense have been subpar at best. The offense is very inconsistent with how good they perform on both fronts. Mason has been a good fill but he ain’t McCaffrey and the majority of the receivers have been very inconsistent aside from Kittle and Jennings, who have been the only guys that have been trustworthy offensive weapons.
I also think Purdy is both trying to do too much and not adjusting well recently. He was playing relatively well until last week but he wasn’t playing like Purdy. More scrambles and circus runs around the pocket than usual and throwing it deep a lot more.
The other issue is that it doesn’t look like he has full control of the offense. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him audible or change the play at all because it doesn’t sound like Kyle lets him. Shanahan has not been good when it comes to scheming up plays. There’s so little creativity and he’s not trying to help Purdy when the defense is playing his weaknesses: man coverage and blitzes. Something needs to change or this season will be over very quickly.

No one wants to hear that "I can only do so much with what I have" when you got Mike Tomlin out here winning year out with less!
Mike tomlin has an elite defense and special teams every year that keeps them in games the quarterback literally just has to play subpar for them to win games they average 3 turnovers a game on defense
Atleast James trying to keep it consistent here. When Hurts had an interception they crucified him and didn’t care about injuries..they said make dudes better.
Im a 49er fan since 89, and i say it's more banged up than it is bad. Jones is such a hater and most abalysts are so hard an critical on the niners because they DO NOT want to see Brock Purdy, not the 49ers, but BROCK PURDY win a super bowl. Why? Because of his draft position. Any other quarterback, they'd be loving this team.
The offense is moving the ball. They are just failing to score in the red zone. That has to change if they want to win games.

Banged up for sure. They're never bad when fully healthy under Shanahan. Ever. They're too talented. Right now, they're bad because they're banged up. When they get healthy, they'll be back to being the most well-rounded team in the league

Some teams have great coaches, great culture and get alot of injuries and can put reserve, ”mid players”, other teams cut players or practise squad players into that system and still survive, win enough games until their A-team is healthy again.
Some teams do not have the same traits or depth in systems from their coaching staff, or the culture is not as strong. So they have a harder time to adjust fast enough when the A-team players get too many injuries. And they look like they ”just” play bad then. So it becomes a combo of ”just banged up” and as a tail to that, they play bad as a consequence, because they do not have as easy of a time to adjust to a scenario like that through coaches, systems, culture.
I mean, most or all teams play bad or worse if enough players get injured. The difference is in how much, or how fast they can adjust to playing differently, to survive a period like that. I guess.

This is all on Kyle. He built his game plans around CMC. He hasn't figured out that Mason is not him and that Deebo is not him either. Just look at the game planning. How many screen passes do you see now? How often do you see Mason catching passes?

Kyle has been the reason for at least two of the losses. Yes, the team has had injuries, but the right play-calling and decisions would have won both the Rams and Cardinals games. The team has been inconsistent in all 3 phases. The team needs a new DC and STC for sure. Kyle might need an OC too to keep him from always trying to overcomplicate things
Yes….injuries play a part…..but as someone who loves some Purdy..throwing away 9+ points in a 2 point game is a dagger. The team isnt bad, but they are “playing” bad and this falls on Kyle and his inability to adapt

Defense has been bad. Offense is hurt. No Purdy is not the issue. He's been the only real bright spot on the entire team this season. They got him out there with practice quad guys who don't know their routes and weren't even part of working with the 1st team all preseason and season. It's not shocking when you throw bad players into the offense who you haven't worked with that Purdy is going to have a hard time. He's running all over the place trying to make things happen and IMO is the main reason they've even won any games this year.
Yes Deebo, Aiyuk, Jennings, and Kittle have played during the season. But actually look at ot each game. Aiyuk came in after the holdout and didn't look ready at all and now he's hurt. Deebo has mossed multiple games. Kittle missed at least 1 game I know. Jennings was probably theor most reliable player and essentially was WR1 when he is supposed to be WR3. Looking at the games it seems like at most they've had 2 of these guys on the field and sometimes 1. That's serious injuries.

The defense is way more healthier than the offense, at some point the 49ers need to show some signs on defense that they are getting better. They have a lot youth at the wide receivers position, now they can just go out there play ball nobody is expecting the 49ers to do anything James said the Niners are bad okay so all the attention is not on us anymore it's on other teams.

“Its on the QB” yet says all these guys have been in the game and talks about how Purdy threw 3 ints last week yet was throwing to 3 new receivers from the practice squad and Shanafraud stopped running the ball for some reason.
I watched Purdy under throw Kittle and the rookie Cowing for tds. Receivers looked good then. By Purdy and Shanny’s own admission Ronnie Bell ran the wrong route and Purdy there’s a horrible pass that got picked. He threw two other bad passes that got picked. Yeah it’s on the Qb. He hasn’t played well this year. 11 total TDS and 9 total turnovers in 7 games.

This brings up the question everyone has asked for 2 seasons… if they’re bad when Purdy doesn’t have 3 offensive superstars and the defense has some guys missing… what will they be when Purdy isn’t feee anymore
They will be fine when they pay Purdy. This idea that all of a sudden they will have to get rid of every one is comical. Purdy has literally carried the team on his back this year. Without him, they would not have the wins they do.

I don’t think the 9ers will be good from this point on, UNLESS Kyle Shanahan changes his coaching style/schemes! HE is stuck on one way, his “ways”of coaching and just about everyone in the league knows what that is. He needs to learn a lesson or two from Andy Reid who is constantly coming up with new ways to play his players, different schemes, “trickeries”…..K.S. Is a young guy and yet he is stuck like an old man who doesn’t want to change his ways! I am tired of hearing that this team will be better IF CMC returns….i hope he doesn’t return! K.S. has to wake up and smell the coffee of a new year/season
