The Daily Show has always depended on their correspondents to help the show keep going. Ronny and the rest of them will always hold a special place in my heart for all the hard work they have done through the years. That being said, I can't wait to see M3gan!
The Daily Show has spun off a lot of actors who've went on to big things. Stephen Colbert, Jordan Klepper, Steve Carrell, Ed Holms, Samantha Bee, Jessica White, The Back in Black guy, and more. Desi Lydic and this guy are next!
Saw Ronny when he was just starting up as a comedian at one of the small side venues at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney. He was absolutely hilairious and hammering everyone in the 6 rows that you were just trying to hide from him - we all felt sorry for the people who were smashed for being late. About 70% of his show was just smashing people and everyone had so much fun. He has moved into being more focused on prepared material although hopefully in future he does go back to his ad hoc type style - it showed how intelligent, witty and funny he could be on the spot.
Ronny reminds me of a friend I knew in the fourth grade. To everyone else, he was shy, extremely intelligent and nearsighted. But when we were alone, his cynical side would emerge and he was hilarious.

as a comedian i have met and even worked with many other comedians, ronny chieng was the nicest ever. would help you polish your script, invite you out for a drink to chat, pay his openers more when they weren't being paid enough by the organization, whatever -- when clearly i and other openers can do nothing to help his career. another very nice comedian was marina franklin. i will not name the comedians full of themselves, but there are more of them than nice ones 😅
His last bit on the Daily Show scolding people to quit picking on billionaires like Musk was ROFLOL. The only thing missing was being able to see Noah's reaction.

True, I'm German and every morning I watch all the late shows from the evening before. It takes me an hour and I love it. It was/is my experience of America which I like. When Trump came into the picture I was totally taken aback that there is such an ugly embarrassing disgraceful side to America too, a minority but a cheating criminal immoral minority. I miss my morning hour on Sun- and Mondays. It's also my main source of news from America as I don't like the American concept of opinionating with 'expert' guests all the time instead of presenting the news straight and simply factual. This also means that I watch only the monologues and skip the guest parts. Too boring for me. But for Ronnie I make an exception. Thanks and greetings to America. It had been pure respect but since Trump and the Republican sh*t show it's more of a love hate relationship.

I've always respected and admired his smart comedy writing and had no idea he did ad hoc. I would have loved to seen him in that element!
