Oh WOW your Agave seedlings are real cuties with their first little leaves showing, fingers crossed your Dyckia brevifolia seeds germinate too, thanks so much for sharing the seedling update with us Donald, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER to Northern Spain for a fantastic Tuesday today XXXX

Thanks so much for your comment Lyn, my last lot of agaves germinated then rotted when I wasn't around to keep an eye on them (along with loads of cactus seedlings). I'm watching these much more closely and hope most will survive. I really don't know what to expect with the Dyckia but if at first you don't succeed, just keep trying. I'm determined to get some of these gorgeous plants!

You did well there Donald, I only had one germinate out of 40 and then that died 🙄😁🌵🌵

Oh dear, that's a very disappointing outcome 😢. My first agaves from last year are now doing ok, 5 plants out of 10 seeds so I can't complain. The second lot all rotted. But I'm learning that whatever the species, getting from seed to adulthood is full of risk. If you try agaves again, do let us know how they do. They are such beautiful plants and a great complement to cacti.
