I already commented in one of Kens videos that KTVA raised my voice on another level, really amazing. I also purchased Voice repair as I'm weekend warrior with my band and thought I might need it. Last week we played 8 hours and I was really exhausted, I could sing until the end the highest notes and my voice didn't brake, I was really proud of myself! However, 2 days later I wanted to practice again and noticed my voice lost this flexibility Ken is talking about.. I needed a lot more air to sing falsetto and the feeling was really bed! It was the time I study voice repair I purchased. Today, after 1 hour of similar exercises I'm doing in KTVA I noticed my voice was a lot better, but still not as it should be. Maybe I needed to do this first day after hard singing. I hope my voice will come back on 100% soon.
Ken, I'm two weeks into this repair course! I am blown away. My voice is healing and my intonation/pitch is getting more accurate. By taking a slow soft approach my breathing and glottal compression are coming together nicely. I'm also finding better control and understanding when bridging chest and head voice! Top notch instruction Sir! Thank you.
I have a mental illness called conversion disorder, quite a complicated one as it also came with a lot of physical side effects that put me on a walking stick and caused me to suffer with chronic nerve pain in almost every limb. Oh and a crap load of medication (13 pills a day for the last 8 years). As a result of many dark times and stress i feel soo much tension when i sing, i've been really knuckling down this past month following the start of your course. I feel like i'm improving my breath control but the tension in my neck and shoulders just gets too much. I am more determined to do this than i have ever been for anything and i will put all my effort and patience into improving my voice and getting my body healthier again. You're a true inspiration Ken, thank you for helping us to all believe in ourselves.
Good for you! I admire your tenacity. Have you joined the forum? You can discuss with other singers about how they deal with tension. forum.kentamplinvocalacademy.com/
Thanks for this. I have started to learn after 35 years what could be wrong with my voice. And I have babied this throat many years. So when something went wrong I trusted no one. But the honesty of your conversation and how it hit home to I’m sure many singers, a nice light bulb went off.
I have had nodules on my vocal cords for about 10 years from screaming at sporting events. I need this. I had an amazing voice and now I'm a bit raspy and shortened my range. I'm really hope this helps. I'm in a band and I'm the lead singer and need to keep expanding my range.
I'm too cheap during these tough times to spend money, so I take full advantage of Ken's free videos. As a country music singer-songwriter, I don't exert my voice, but I can still feel it failing. It's not a pain per se; it's almost like something's not "catching," if that's the right way to say it. I just use Ken's tips every time. :)
Thank you so much Ken!! I even had sent a question to you (via your survey) regarding this topic! I'm feeling so blessed! This is what I was looking for ❤️
Did first two exercises from the course and in helped to relax my voice and bring the bright pink back into it, so after the exercises when I'm speaking or singing I don't need to try that hard. Even though the big course didn't work for me, I always was straining my voice trying to do anything from Volume 1, the lighter volume and dynamics of this course feel much better. Gonna tell you about the progress!
Thanks for this wonderful video, so informative and important for singers!!! Hey Ken, how come you havent ever reacted to k.d. Lang? IMHO she's the most flawless singer of our era ( and Im a metal singer!). Im constantly blown away by her technique, pitch, power and nuance. Also she's got the most amazing Mic Technique. Her version of crying on the Australian talk show "Midday" is stunning and completely impromptu. Cheers and thanks for all your amazing work!!
Sometimes my voice "turns off" what I mean is that I have a very bass tone, but sometimes when I'm just having a normal conversation it goes to a different tone, I've been thinking it's because I'm stressed for something because sometimes my voice comes back and other days it "turns off" like I said before. But I don't feel any pain or any other sensation on my throat when I speak or sing. It's kinda weird but now I sing controlling even more my volume so I guess everything's ok. Keep up the good work Ken! Hello from Guatemala! 🇬🇹😎🤘

Hey Ken. Please some quick advice would mean the world to me. I attempt to practice every day, however most times I can’t even make it past a very gentle short warm up without vocal fatigue! Hi there! Thanks for sharing good stuffs and informations and not desinformation like many do. Hey dude, You've been reaching out overseas. I am from Rio-Brazil. Well, I'd like to have your comment on fusiform slit if it is possible. I have this type of slit and I used to sing as amateur. I still dream on taking singing classes here and perform eventually. But before this I gotta be ok. Have you ever had that issue or have you ever known any singer that developed fusiform slit on vocal chord? If so, what did you or this singer do? I have been treating it for more than one year but I did not get healed yet. I know that you are not a Doctor, but I am asking you just because I noticed you have a lot of experiences and acknowledge...So I suppose you must have heard of someone facing an issue like mine. Right? Thanks for reading and God bless you. Your channel rocks!
Where is the Heal from home coarse, you mention Dysphonia, where is the description of what dysphonia's you can help and is there a "small clip" of the coarse anywhere? I have MTD secondary type.
Been looking forward to this. I'm trying to figure out what my paresis is/was. I'm 60. It's not all that bad; just maybe 30% nerve control lost in left vocal fold. Was this "vocal injury" or the result of what Ken calls vocal "atrophy," because I haven't "exercised" the vocal musculature enough? What's the difference? Since the folds are smooth, do I strengthen them "normally," or do I have to be especially gentle? Is it safe to "pull chest" into the higher ranges yet? But if I don't work on "chestier" sounds, I won't develop, either. At 60, I face a lot of similar choices in my sports and physical training, as well, as my joints and vertebrae are more worn down, so while I have to keep developing the muscles, I have to be careful. Have I done too much? Have I done too little?

Hi Ken🙋 I want to ask if you think your new course will help me? I started your singing course a few months ago, and was doing well, but at the time I had undiagnosed silent reflux. It then progressed to really bad constant acid reflux, and my voice went from strengthening to weakening, to the point, I had to stop singing ...I couldn't even do a lip drill without choking! I'm now healing (thanks to your video on reflux and diet 💜🙏). I've stated back on Vol.1, and my voice is getting strong again😀, but I still have a constant slight reflux burn in my throat, and even just doing my warm-ups, makes the burn feel worse (I think from the air passing through my throat??). I've tried singing with less/more air, but still the same burn. Would your new course help me? 😃
Interested. I was doing/hosting Karaoke 2-4 nights a week for the past year or so prior to the "shutdown" that started in March where I would sing anywhere from 4-14 songs per night. Over that time, I noticed I had lost some of my "top-end" range, but not too bad. If my range was originally 1-10, 1-8 at least remained. No big deal. I went about a month without singing a single song and on the first try, could barely squeak out a couple notes. I feel like my range is now limited to maybe 2-6 from that original 1-10 scale; much more limited now than what it was. I assume it's all just from disuse, but do you think this program will help?
