I started generations because you shared it. You're right, it is beautifully done. We love it. And our notgrass order will be here today!! 🎉 Can't wait to start it.

We love Generations so much. You introduced us to them and they’re amazing. Even my parents have picked them up and mentioned how much they’ve enjoyed flipping through them. I really want to love Notgrass but for some reason the sentences bother me. Seems like in every book it’s simple sentence after simple sentence and that’s so picky but for some reason it just gets really repetitive and I get bored reading them to my kids. Maybe it’s just in the younger grade due to reading levels? I’m not sure…

We've done Notgrass for Government and Economics. We are excited to start American History with Generations next year for our 10th and 11th grader. ❤

I am coming upon my 8th year of homeschooling, and this is my first year deviating from Abeka. I will be using Generations and IEW for everything except Math and Spelling. I am excited and a little nervous. From what I have seen of your videos and from viewing Generations myself, I think it's going to go wonderfully better than it has the past couple of years. Thank you for all of your wisdom and reviews. They've been an asset on our homeschooling journey :)

I was so scared that first year I deviated from Abeka! They are great, especially for phonics. But we came to a place where our needs changed and I took a leap of faith. I’m so glad you’re here and thank you for your kind words ❤️

@@mandy-maltz I felt the same way with Abeka. They are great and I still love them but we also came to a time in our homeschool where I was like, It shouldn't be this hard and tearful. I knew I had to change :)

My current favorite is GuestHollow for Science and History. I have used Bibliopan, MoH, Notgrass, SoTW and I am sure something else…… we have bounced between straight homeschool and a hybrid a few years ago which also is the reason for so many different ones. I think I may try Generations for Bible though just to do something from them as it looks great.

I’ve been so intrigued with Generations after seeing all your videos about them. 😍 I’m definitely signing up for your email list. Do you know if there’s specific times of year that they usually go on sale or are the sales usually at random? I’m interested in using their history for our Bible! Thanks so much. ❤

Gah! I’m so torn between the two for my upcoming 9th grader and my 3 elementary students. Does the Generations high school courses cover in depth the world wars and the history behind them or is it more focused on missionaries and people of faith. I want both to be covered in depth. Thank you for all your homeschool content. I love your channel!🤗

High school American History, in my opinion, is really in depth. It's a 1 or 2 year course and it's ginormous!

It is a fantastic Christian curriculum from a Reformed Protestant perspective. Literature based and expansive across many grade levels with multiple learning style options. HIGHLY recommend!

We used it for the elementary/middle grades and really enjoyed it. It's well organized and offers so many supplementary reading options that you really have to pick and choose. That said I've really enjoyed teaching Notgrass to jr. high students at co-op.

I just bought Generations History level 2. My plan as of now is to stick with Generations until late middle school or high school 9th and go with Notgrass.
I do have a question about The Good and Beautiful. I am actually using their language arts not history. I know it is advertised as a Christian curriculum where are the Creator is from the L DS community and the writers are of many different religions. I was just wondering what you knew about the company that I might not know? What are some of the reasons that you choose not to use it? I appreciate your advice so that's why I'm asking about this.

She has some good videos talking about how she chooses curriculum - worldview is a big factor she looks into if I recall. And what happens when the people behind the curriculum are say LDS or other worldviews it leaks into the curriculum they design.

Yup. There will be people defending TGTB on your comment, no doubt. It’s their choice to use whatever they wish and that’s totally fine. I don’t tell people what they should or shouldn’t use, rather, I show what we use. Worldview is huge for my family. Where the money goes after we purchase is also a big factor. Generations lines up with our values and is a God honoring company what we enjoy, so it was an easy decision for us.
