- The head of Hamas political bureau Ismail Haniyah says the group is ready to accept an agreement that guarantees a permanent ceasefire.
He says it also wants a full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, reconstruction, and an exchange deal.
The Israeli government has banned Al Jazeera from reporting there, so Hamdah Salhut is joining us from the Jordanian capital, Amman.
Youcef Bouandel from Qatar University says the disunion within Israel’s war cabinet and wider society is starting to boil over, which “strengthens the hand” of Hamas in ceasefire negotiations.

One side saying "here's the Deal take it or leave it," is not a Negotiation. A Negotiation is a two way street, with both sides first agreeing to respect each other's perspective.
The deal must include:
1. Free all Palestinian hostages
2. Remove all settlers from Palestinian land
3. Withdraw all troops from Gaza and Rafah
4. Clear border with two state of equal rights
5. Rebuild the destruction caused by the perpetrators

This statement is flawed in many ways. The fundamental problem is why, if Israel was most interested in real estate, canal building, and oil, they gave back the Sinai? The Sinai has 165 times the land area of Gaza. Its not filled with angry militants, rampant poverty, and 2 million people needing to be relocated. It has significantly greater oil and gas resources than Gaza. Most importantly, the oil and gas resources in Gaza are off the coast, which has been controlled by Israel for decades. They have no need to invade Gaza to take advantage of these resources...
