- I invite you to a time lapse/hyperlapse journey through Polish Chicago made from my sequences shot over two year period. Four seasons similar to climate in Poland made this geographical area perfect for settling. Chicago - home of immigrant Poles and Americans of Polish heritage. The biggest Polish city outside of Poland. Chicago's Polish presence is felt in the large number of Polish American organizations located here; including the Polish Museum of America, the Polish American Association, the Polish National Alliance. With over a 1,000,000 people of Polish ethnicity in the Chicago metropolitan area. Chicagopolis is an acronym stating that Chicago is Polish in so many ways and also as a big Metropolis. Interpretation is left for the viewer.
Shot with Canon 5D Mark III, two Manfrotto tripods, Kessler TLS slider, 2 SYRP Genie Mini. Processed in Lightroom 5. Edited in Premiere Pro.

Bravo Chris! I love how you include lesser known places as well as better known places in Chicago. I like the movement with the girl walking or standing in one place and how you take the viewer through tunnels and portals as you move from one area to another.

Another epic production Chris. I want to know how you ever got that young girl to stand still while you made all of the time lapses. Really liked how you had her moving through the museums. I'm going to guess they were a LOT of still shots of her incorporated. I applaud her patience with you .... or it was a really good bribe LOL. Great job. Can't wait to see what you come up with next.
Thank you very much. It was tricky. All shots required patience and at least 120 pictures. Especially the ones when she stands still. It is long exposure to blur movement on a busy street. Not only her positioning but pedestrians made it more difficult. There was no bribe involved. She wanted to be a part of my project for a long time and I happily made it happen. Now she knows how much work comes with such short outcome and it was a great lesson - from my point of view. She did great and I very proud of her.

Very nice video, just in my opinion it was too much Copernicus Center in this video and Polish Consulate and Polish-Romanian Catholic Museum was missing in it. And the church with statue of JP2 pope is Basilica of St. Jack, not St. Hiacynt Church
There is so many places missing. I'm aware of it. Couldn't fit them all. Will do it next time though. This Basilica is called St. Hyacinth. It says on the front of the building. You can check also google maps. It is called "Swietego Jacka" in polish.
