The USA has the highest class -b van prices in the world. But, the class-b camper-vans in the united states are better equiped than in the rest of the world. The winnebago boldt is fully loaded, the price of $ 138.000 sounds very ok to me. You can find winnebago products, and companies who can service them, in many states, even outside of the usa. The sprinter is the ony van that is worldwide build with the same technic, and you can use all mercedes service stations around the world, so the boldt would be my first choise .
My travato has the same layout but cost me 91,000. I have the dependable 3.6 liter gas engine that gets 18 mpg. I can get oil changes at a jiffy lube and parts everywhere as it is a jeep engine. No Volta power but I upgraded the batteries to lithium drop in’s and have been very pleased. I also have a generator. Mercedes makes a nice machine buts it’s not worth an extra 40,000. No emissions fluid either to deal with. Spend the bucks and upgrade the cushions to latex with real fabric on both platforms and you will be very happy. This is my second travato. Sold my first after 220000 miles, and it was still running strong with minimal maintenance.
I think there were so many of these because of two reasons. That MSRP means they don't have the 4x4 and the KL floor plan is a fail. a lot of people (including me) hate the bathroom in the back. Who wants to show people your toilet when you open the door? The tanks are also way smaller in the KL. I bet they had a surplus of these because the other configs with 4x4 sold and these didn't
So great of you to take time to highlight these class B's. That said, tbh, if I am gonna spend that much money, I am gonna find me a nice Country Coach, or Prevost....used of course!! Be Blessed Andrew!! Looking forward to the next video for sure!
To the people complaining about price: 1) Currently, it is a seller's market (buy used in 2-3 years); 2) a new MB 3500 4 x 4 chassis is $60k plus; the Ford Transit AWD is closer to $55k +. 3) The build quality on the C's under 100k is questionable, to say the least. I am not justifying the cost of the Boldt, which I do not like for a number of reasons. I do think building your own top class B that is new with a superior solar / electrical system will run you upwards of $100k *easy* after all is said and done.
I just recently bought my class b a Thor tellaro with pop top tent. I think Boldt at this price is fair with the pure 3 system I wish my has lithium I need the extra sleeping area else I would go for a boldt. and because it covid so my tellero is not cheap.
How do you combine the two twin beds to make one large bed, most twin bed designs have that capability but the offset here between the two would make that impossible. Strange design choice. Also the material looks like a 1950's couch :-) thanks for the video.
All of the class B & B plus motorhomes are overly priced , I think it’s because of so many people are buying them ,But they are really done well specially the Winnebago boltd .
I really liked the Boldt KL that you showed in the video. I did a walkthrough of one last month. For a Class B, the bathroom is huge. The Volta power system is the key though. You can run the AC for a number of hours with no generator. I was ready to buy! For those those coming from a big, DP Class A, these look tiny, but they are nimble and can be parked in many places you would never take a Class A.
Living like the VW Westphalia in 2020. With Winnebago big company reputation it's only worth $75K as shown. I would never take my wife out for a cross country in one of these. But it does offer a niche market for some buyers. Thanks for posting, keep them coming.
Why do the manufacturers treat the public so dishonorably with there made up MSRP prices. Do they really think that people are that naive when they always use the same inflated pricing practices. Wouldn't it be refreshing for the manufacturers just to give us the real price without the made-up lame pricing. This is why people have such a negative perception of the RV sales world. Thank you, your videos are very informative.
Let’s see 11,000 + amp hour 4X4 It’s the ultimate Class B to boondock in. You probably can go 3 to 4 days. If I was buying a Class B I would by the Boldt for sure.
I have a house I am thinking of selling. I plan to ask just under $2,000,000. But would consider taking $750,000 cash, through next week. Think of it as an end of summer discount!
Looks like those batteries are the difference ,they are the future but like electric cars they have to get the prices down on them 138 , but it doesn’t have other features ppl want , c’mon guys build one with all the bells , keep it around 150k , u can do it !
Even with the discount that is a crazy price. I like to buy a van and have it converted professionally. Also the fit and finish on one did not look that good to me.
I think the overarching issue is they are priced on par to an Airstream. They need to take a cut to get them out there until people realize how much power they are getting out of a Volta System.
I like the idea of all lithium. It's a great vehicle to travel in say from resort to resort. I wouldn't want to stay in the thing overnight more than a few days at a time. Certainly not the vehicle to winter in Florida but to cruise out west for a couple weeks I think for my wife and I, it would be cool. It all depends how you use it.
With the class b, it is far better to buy a van new and have it outfitted. Save a lot of money and design it yourself. But I still prefer the classic LUXURY MOTOR COACH of the early 2000 era. Great video Andrew!
They are so small and so expensive...the one Class B that is about 25 feet and has a larger fridge with generator or lithium and all in one side bath inside..forget the maker (think it was era and bed was cool for a coiple or single...,,maybe both Winnebago and Leisure Travel and an Upper Level believe it or not Coachman had one. Then there were the larger small B/C cross ones where shower was separate...the problem with all of these to me, at this size, besides the price, is the wind a tip over factor on road..I have seen too many one to 4 fatality horrors on sunny "perfect condition days" when a gust of 80 or 90 hits the car going same speed just the right way...and so afraid of these being terribly tipsy. I think the fancy as you can get older style B's still made that are almost C's with wide body and maybe not the huge overhang are more steady and perhaps the best at this size,,I know the beautiful Oregon place will accept other classes than A...25 feet or longer...not sure abt Montana but they definitely should go to that as nice as they are building smaller ones for solos and couples who have trimmed down and go all year.....xo..thanks again for good thoughts and showing us...
I saw ur video on tiffin vs prevost. How would you compare the truck based super c vs prevost. The conventional wisdom is that these truck based rvs have the longevity and resilience of the bus based platforms. What says the Steele man?
I paid less than that for a bus, but I understand the marketing aspect. This unit will depreciate 40 to 50% in 3 to 4 years to 70K. If this is your cup of tea fine. Just be aware of taking the big depreciation hit that is endemic of any new RV purchase. IMHO it is not a good value for the $$$ but that is my opinion only and means nothing in the scheme of things.
The quality definitely is not there, you'll be able to buy it a year from now for 80 grand. Very unimpressive, the leisure travel RVs seem like a better RV for that size range. The Murphy beds on small RVs make the most sense.
The Midwest seems more like a prissy RV you go to RV parks in, while the Boldt seems more of an adventure vehicle that is meant to get you away from society and rarely is at a campground or RV park. The MSRP is irrelevant, what you can actually buy it for is what matters. When you look at the battery capacity and underhood generator that will recharge the system in a couple hours of driving, the price is understandable.
It gives the dealers flexibility, you'll see different prices from different dealers across the nation. Winnebago has their RVs driven from the factory to the dealer so you could have over 1000 miles on the odometer when it gets sold to the first owner.
When something doesn't sell it comes down to either quality or price. My opinion most class B's are way over priced. And I agree....those seat cushions look like an after thought....and like something I could of made 😆. I like the option of the additional toilet in the 4th one, but it looks a bit uncomfortable to sit on 🤣
Andrew I'm going to start looking for a class A Pusher,, end of year, start of next year!!! Thinking about 40' , i see you choose a tiffen!! Can you tell me where i can get the best deal ? I live in S.C. but will travel the get the rite one . Thank you Bruce
Winibago is selling cheap equipments like rv camping world. But on the other hand there are so many vans being built so there trying to be diy about it. It’s sad to Country Coach left behind but this us how the market is and covad 19, but I would live to have a country coach vehicle.
I think the 200K for a Winnebago is way overpriced. However, when you go to the big RV dealers it seems like they typically have a high list price and then discount it ⅓ to 40% off as the default price. Has anyone got a bigger discount on a Sprinter conversion? I sure would like to know what they typically discount the $2M Prevost conversions?
I’m sure the Winnebago is fine vehicle but the pricing simply makes no sense. My guess is it’s a marketing ploy to simply show a huge discount. I think the discounted price is more or less what the list price should be and then discount from there. The Midwest automotive Coach looks like a much higher quality vehicle. There are a lot of great choices for that kind of money in all classes of motorhomes.
Great video - I guess if you have the dough, would be a great road trip rig. Personally could not justify even the $138k... I'd rather have my $35k 29RKWS Flagstaff trailer all day long.
A $104,000 for the 4x4 its a good price ONLY, buyer beware of the paper glued on fronts behind the cabinet doors and the sides all are PAPER attached by GLUE! There is NO wood i could find at all, the dove tails seemed to be some NON wood materials...LOL not like pleasure way or leisureway.
@@ScottBonney I own a travato and the cabinets minus the dove tail are still paper glued on faces behind the doors (just so you KNOW) its paper literally! Still looks nice until he day it gets warm and it peels off as the glue loosens, so SAD( so but at a big sale day ONLY!
@@michaelsmith9308 I considered the NPE Travato and purchased the Boldt instead for the same price. Full time since August. The thinnest wood panel I can find is above the sliding bathroom door, probably as thick as 25 sheets of paper. Manufacturers have regulations to face and challenges with weight where the lightweight cabinetry comes in. Aside from a few quality concerns (mine was manufactured right after Winnebago opened from Covid) I'm pretty happy with it so far.
Andrew., Another informative video - One of the big issues with these BOLTs is that they are the K layout - The CLASS Bs that are going quick and are on backorder have the European style front lounge area - the bench seat behind the driver's seat with the removable table and people are looking for flexible pass through from the back. These are overpriced leftovers with the layout no one wants. The winnebago build quality has dropped even lower than before the spike in sales. The SOLIS build fit and finish is horrible - several recent owners have posted videos, but they are SUB $100K Vans.
You're paying for the brands: Winnebago and MB. Winnebago because it's a well-established & known company, and MB because people love saying they drive a MB. Just like any vehicle, the second you drive these off the lot you've lost $25k or more on depreciation. There is a strong market for these Class B's and if I were in the market for one I'd buy pre-owned. In 2-3 years pre-owned lots will be filled with Class B's.
Suggested list prices are always ridiculously high. No one pays those prices so why even mention them. The "discounted" price is the regular price and I would make an offer below that. I don't think RV dealers have gone to the one price concept yet, but it's only a matter of time.
Organic? It is your polite euphemism for what? Austere? Cheap? Poorly designed or all of the above? The sticker is Standard Show Pricing; jack up the 'Normal' price to whatever doesn't make people laugh ... too much so that the real asking price (no discount) looks like a bargain. I am sure that anyone 'talking turkey' would be told that just for them 'we'll knock off another $10,000.00'. Personally I would opt for a good used or even new F-350 ''dually' (or Dodge or GM or other if you must) and high end Camper. You would have an infinitely more useful and flexible package at what I suspect would be a lot less money than what you would pay for a converted delivery van...excuse me ... 'a class B coach'. But then like more than a few of you, I can and will be over ruled by the Mrs.
Boldt provides 30amp shore power service without a gas generator. You can run an A/C 8-11 hours in high temps before needing to self charge to full capacity with 1-2 hrs of driving. Show me a rig on a Mercedes platform under $150k that can do that.
doubtful that it's real carbon fibre, Sometimes they have real carbon fibre steering wheels but usually around the dash it's fake unless you pay the up charge for real carbon fibre,,,,,But it looks OK
Andrew, WINNEBAGO BOLDT ya.... big time overpriced..., we had a camping display here they had some tow-able WINNEBAGOs they wanted 95K for the 22 or 24 footer, the 16 ft was 55K. WTF, my son's house was just 100K. Can I say I will never buy a WINNEBAGO even if they drop the price, just out of principle. What are they thinking, " these Dumb AS will pay it if we put it out there. 100K for a tow-able, dude its a camper..do I have a sign on my forehead.
Totally over priced even at discount price. These look ok but the build quality is very low. They look like they were just thrown together. For that money you can find a better quality as others have stated here in the comments. Thanks for sharing these always good to see other RV’s
Would far prefer a ClassC with far more room, options and utility than these things. What an overpriced piece of garbage chassis too. Ask any Sprinter owner about reliabiity and repair costs and I bet you get an earful of negative reponses.
YES IT IS WAY OVERPRICED !!! I have a 2020 Thor Sequence 20L on a Ram Promaster chasis, and has basically the same floorplan and of the same or similar quality and regardless of the lack of Lithium and Mercedes chasis, there is nothing making it worth being nearly double the cost of what I paid just at the discounted show price, let alone nearly triple the price at full retail. I can add FULL Battleborn brand lithium system the does the same for a fraction of the cost, and keep the generator as a backup. Additionally, the Diesel engine isn’t a plus unless you absolutely need to tow an additional 1500 pounds, the 4WD doesn’t do much good if you don’t gain any real ground clearance to truly off-road, the dually rear wheels, add stability yes, but so do $450 in Sumo springs added to any other much cheaper van, and the MPG improvement will NOT ever be earned back in gas savings no matter how much you drive. Even as nice as the the Mercedes safety features are, they are just too overpriced for what they offer. For that $138k of money, it should be a FULL electric coach AND chasis, and if they want $200k it should also be a level 5 autonomous vehicle so I can go have lunch in the back while it drives me to my destination. Get that going and we can talk.
Glad to see these smaller RV's for those that want a smaller rig. Thanks for the tours Andrew. Happy trails!

Discount is equal to a 2021 tahoe. Doesn't make sense imo. I would buy the Mercedes for my 5 year old. Think it would work for somebody his size.
List price is irrelevant, all that matters is what you will pay... Still overpriced at $137K Bland and boring...
MW model has a more stylish interior. However both are built for short trips, not for full timers.
130 let alone 207k is just Fing stupid . I wouldn't pay mor the 60k
Boldt provides 30amp shore power service without a gas generator. You can run an A/C 8-11 hours in high temps before needing to self charge to full capacity with 1-2 hrs of driving. Show me a rig on a Mercedes platform under $150k that can do that.
Right on man.
doubtful that it's real carbon fibre, Sometimes they have real carbon fibre steering wheels but usually around the dash it's fake unless you pay the up charge for real carbon fibre,,,,,But it looks OK
I thought the same, carbon fiber look.. not real carbon fiber
No van is worth $200K...I would rather buy a Grand Design Solitude 380FL+350 truck for around $110K!
These vans are way overpriced. I seen one, on the road but the suspension was higher than the one your showing.
CLASS A CHEAPER AND MORE SPACE! MERCEDES CHASSIS ARE WHY YOU PAY MORE..4X4 DIESEL MEANS MORE MONEY! REVEL ISNT CHEAP EITHER..LITTLE OVERPRICED!😪
:-)))) :-))))
Midwest conversation seemed alot nicer
Andrew, WINNEBAGO BOLDT ya.... big time overpriced..., we had a camping
display here they had some tow-able WINNEBAGOs they wanted 95K for the
22 or 24 footer, the 16 ft was 55K. WTF, my son's house was just 100K.
Can I say I will never buy a WINNEBAGO even if they drop the price, just
out of principle. What are they thinking, " these Dumb AS will pay it
if we put it out there. 100K for a tow-able, dude its a camper..do I have a sign on my forehead.
moat people will only pay this price for a Class A RV or Offorad Truck Camper
Totally over priced even at discount price. These look ok but the build quality is very low. They look like they were just thrown together. For that money you can find a better quality as others have stated here in the comments. Thanks for sharing these always good to see other RV’s
Winnebago I think I got them overpriced I recently saw a leisure van and it was really nice nicer than all the ones you showed
🚍💖🤠
Andrew the king of Rv's...
You're a superstar...😉
Not a bad price! Really!! Way overpriced!!! Don't care if it has that star in front grill. Crazy. Maybe, just maybe, 120k. But just too small
Not even worth 138,000.
Come on Winn, it's a B Van!!!
Ok, I guess with the battery system.
But no more.
Way over priced for basically a van, no way not me I will stick with my class A and have SOME ROOM!!!!!!
The Midwest conversion is much higher quality.
They seem overpriced to me Andrew
Way Too OVERPRICED! Could by twice as much coach in Super- C for less.
I rather buy Villa in Tuscany 🇮🇹 Italy
Andrew rocking his mask now nice!
Class B RVs are so overpriced it's a shame, better Known as highway robbery
These are just trouble looking for a dummie...
