Saw this guitar and fell in love. The fact it plays well makes it a done deal- I need this guitar!

I had a couple of Gibson SGs with P90s over the years, but this Epiphone sounds just as good, if not better. The only problem I had was I had to go through three of them to find one with decent fretwork, but if you find a good one it's a killer guitar.

I have the burgundy version and it's my go to guitar. I eventually bought the flying V '58 and the SG standard as well. I love em all. Epiphone has really stepped up their game but the prices on the higher end stuff is out of hand now. Thank you Gibson

The inspired by Gibson acoustic guitars are well made as well. I own the J-200, great guitar

I had one until I picked up a 65 Special. It was a fine placeholder, perfectly excellent guitar. I moved to get a 62 Junior last year and it all started with one of these

I have the Gibson version, also in Pelham, but I think the Epiphone is really just as good for a third of the price. The Gibson has the bridge pickup a little closer to the bridge itself (just by about 5mm) but it makes the tone noticeably harsher and a little jarring if the truth be told. But, that’s a minor niggle on what is a solid rock machine - especially when paired with a good Marshall or even a Blackstar HT. It’s true that nothing imitates a P90 so every guitar player should give them a go. If you’re ever looking for something made in Nashville for a hardcore P90 fix, get the Les Paul Special (gotta be TV Yellow) because that is truly awesome. Enjoy the Epi’ in the meantime though - good choice 👍

I've got one of those Gibson Leas Paul Special's. I really do like the Gibson TV Yellow. But, got mine second-hand for a good price, and it's a worn black one, and I've really grown to love it. It's mean and stripped back looking and sounds killer. They're suprisingly good guitars for Jazz, and Soul too. I've heard the Epiphone versions are very nearly as good, just that they don't look quite as nice, and the neck isn't rosewood or ebony. Have an Epiphone Casino and love it though. Very good with the Epiphone Pro P90s, but great with Lollars.

Go for it. I have mine for years now and there is only one problem with it. The wiring is really cheap, unlike the electronics which are really good. After a year or 2 the wiring gets kinda bad. Ask to see the electronics. If you see any wires in a bad condition, ask for an extra $30 off.

totally onboard with the Pelham colour! I never owned, or played P-90's before... I'm not envious,.. not a bit. [okay, quite a bit]

I’ve been looking to pick up used one of these or the Epi LP Special in TV yellow. The price is a little rich for what it is as compared to what Squier or even PRS SE offers at the same or lower price points, but it looks cool. Would be curious how each one stacks up against the other.

Some1 can tell me what are those two very little screws that are screwed to that two bigger ones ? I have Special P-90,love the sound

    • @patrickcampion7966

If you're referring to the two small set screws at the back of the wraparound tailpiece, they are to allow setting the distance the tailpiece can be set back from the mounting studs (the two large slot-head screws). This allows for a little bit of intonation adjustment.
