I know it’s not going to happen but I still wish Lambo would have put the V12 or V10 in it. Look at Ferrari purosangue. Now, that would have been a better offer. Right now with the V8, I’d spend half and get RS Q8
Agreed, the dash/gauges in the Urus are superior to those found in the Cayenne. Yep, I’d take this over a Cayenne GT! Options at VAG are just insane! Lamborghini is a hoot; nothing like it! You gotta pay to play…. Cheers/B
I’d take the cayenne all day. I love the lambo look, just the Porsche would probably be more reliable. Another awesome review Motoman! Any upcoming EV cars reviews coming up?
Yes! Just had access to a very early pre-production prototype of the upcoming Hyundai Kona EV. The ICE episode of that car goes live Tuesday and the EV to follow in the coming weeks. Also, have a discussion with the head of design for VW's Scout Motors. That was a fascinating discussion because a. he comes from Jeep and b. he gives some good insight into what VW is planning for the Scout revival. That goes live September 16.
Even as an SUV hater it's hard to deny the Urus is stunning. This 4.0L V8 that VAG uses in several of their cars is unreal. People are able to hit 750+ HP with only an ECU tune. If it weren't for emission regulations I wouldn't have been shocked to see VAG sell 700+ HP versions of this engine stock.
Just Tuesday 5 September here in the UK Audi released an updated Q8 and SQ8 with HD Matrix LED headlights and the same Lamborghini Urus engine but £30K less at £93K than the RSQ8 £123K. The paint work looked like the orange- red used by Post Office.
Simply think it's nuts to spend this much for this. It's really a status symbol, like a rolex is to watches. Way better watches than rolex's, but the showy crowd loves them.
Those front rotors are HUGE and with a vmax of 190, I wouldn’t expect any off road capability. I still would rather have the Cayenne and keep the extra $100k saved in my pocket. That start button with the red guard looks cool but do you have to open up the red guard every time you want to start it? If so, wouldn’t that get old?
You can stick your finger through the hole to press the button if you don’t want to lift the cover. I agree about Cayenne being better. Cayenne turbo gt specifically
Great review making simple the key significant differences that makes this so unique. I don’t know if they make a multiple HDR camera model for the rear passenger to front driver angle for Motoman Canyon drives but the vista is a bit bright at that time of day/season of the year. Great work on all the angles but maybe your iPhone would handle that better dark interior and mucho sun poring in. Final Cut can import directly from the iPhone or you can just air drop the footage if you have the patience. As usual, all of this was magnificanté. 👍🏼 Keep up the awesome job‼️💯 15:37
Good eye! A bit behind the scenes . . . had a camera fail that day and had to use one of the spares we carry - which is older. That is why the rear camera is a bit blown out.
The DBX707 is faster and handles better. Unfortunately, the Aston just doesn’t have the “flex” like a Lambo has. And the Aston’s interior/switchgear/infotainment is terrible compared to anything else in the class.
I dunno, I have owned a lot of cars, and I ended up with the Cayenne GTS as the family car for me in this category. I still want this category to be able to do a snow trip to Tahoe or a gravel road without wrecking 22 inch rims. The performance is already too much for anyone who is hauling 4 passengers, and if I ACTUALLY want to perform at that level, I need a classic older 2 seaters because its more about the fun and the thrill, and less about the room for kids in back. But the larger point is that we now have better-than-road performance in almost every category of vehicle now. You can go 0-60 and hang in the corners now like a sports car, and anything beyond it really is only for the track. So whats the point of modern sports cars now... honestly? Their performance has become entirely untappable.
@@TuvingtonD owned and driven Ferraris mclaren lambos 911s classics and what not. Sure but really it’s not delivering that much real delta day to day. When you’ve owned as many cars as I have you can be more honest with yourself. When it comes to driver engagement you need an F430 scut or something to really start the raw feelings.
How in the world we ended with an SUV that tries to be a sports car. It's a bit like a really out of shape person telling everybody how nice is to be thin. Anyways, it's what it is but I wish there were more cheap sports cars around cause nowadays you can count them with one hand. Still, great engineering behind this performante variant and I was wondering how long cars like these will sell in Europe because given current ev sales trends and tightening regulations I wonder if the last ICE 911 will be sold somewhere in Kenia instead of Germany. How we ended up like this?
Great video. Having just got back to the UK from a 2 week holiday on the west coast, I couldn't believe how many Urus's we saw, especially in LA! Sitting in the vast traffic jams one day last week I counted 4 on the short journey down the 101...😂👍
No All Electric does not work in many places, it likely works in fewer places than it works! Electrical components are still back ordered, there are home builders delaying closing sales on new homes due to lack of panels and transformers and there simply is not enough power!!
I have *never* seen a man driving one of these and I see _a lot_ of them on a daily basis. It's strange to see so many of them on the streets of Scottsdale and North Phoenix, especially given the cost of these vehicles. What is even more perplexing is the fact that they are _always_ driven by a* woman. Half the time I don't know which has more money invested into them - the woman with all her cosmetic procedures or the Urus. Let that paint a vivid image in your mind. Nevertheless, this has always been an interesting car with a very niche demographic. [For the record, this was not meant to be a disparaging comment but rather a factual observation.] Stay classy my friends. *EDITED for grammar.
it's because top influencers drive them in their youtube videos. these women likely either are influencers or aspirstionally influencers. scottsdale is notoriously vain. men are less likely to drive SUVs because they are seen as safe and boring
300k+ in todays world is chuck change. (Sadly, not for me either). I've got 2 Uruses on my street + 2 G63s....medium class neighbourhood, somewhere in eastern europe.
I would just go with the standard Urus ( Urus S now ) because I would prefer the better ride quality in a SUV. I am never going to track a heavy SUV but I am sure that Lamborghini will sell every Performante.
To your last question about PHEVs, since Porsche announced the 730hp Cayenne Turbo e-hybrid (no S this year) perhaps Lamborghini will do the same with the Urus as a 'closing the door' SUV before the full electric becomes a reality. Also, since VAG has their uber-performance SUVs, why hasn't BMW M/AMG done the same yet with the X6/GLE? 🤔
If you want to know what it weighs then why don’t you go weigh it? Just list what percentage fuel the gas tank has such as 50% or 70% fuel. Then it can be compared to other vehicles weights.
If I have learnt one thing in my 43 years on this planet then it's that if a big established brand releases a product then regardless of how stupid I might think it is a market for it has been identified before it ever got as far as being designed.
I was in LA a few months ago. The variety of super cars was making it a mundane experience . Then I saw a Citroen 2CV! Utterly refreshing to see!
