Ireland is the first European country Leila and I ever visited. We planned on launching our travel channel with this trip to ireland. Our timing was terrible. It was a mistake. About the time we returned, they announced the end of the world with the 'rona. So, we put this video on the back burner. Until now. Here is everything you ever wanted to know about Ireland.

We went around the entire island in just over a week, starting in Belfast. We learned about the Belfast Peace Wall and the Northern Ireland conflict, aka "The Troubles". Did you know hillbillies originated in Ireland? Neither did we. We were there during an election and met a candidate. We saw castles. Lots of Castles. Dunluce, Donegal, and Blarney to get started. Do you know how they named the Blarney castle? We also checked out the oldest bar in Ireland, the Brazenhead, met some super cool peope, and so, so much more. This might just be the ultimate Ireland Travel Guide.

It's not a catholic vs protestant thing at all. Wish people would stop spewing this BS. Its nationalist vs unionists. Irish vs British. Many Irish were protestants. And many unionists are catholic.
I know it’s not religious. I even say so in the video. But that is often how it’s generically described, including by our Irish guide, who lives there.
He literally says in the video it wasn't a religious conflict. He actually summed up the conflict pretty succinctly and accurately

I did a month in Ireland last year. January/February 2023.
I flew from Hamburg Germany into Dublin. My first week in Dublin I spent it taking two buses to all the big tour sites.
Then my final three weeks I rented a car and drove to the rest of the island. It sure is a beautiful magical place and I can say I stayed on the road. Glad you guys were OK that must’ve been scary to get stuck on that side road near Killarney. I drove everywhere from Donegal all the way down to Killarney over to Wexford back up to county Monahan.
I ended up driving like 2500 miles in 21 days. I capped it off with finding an old home in County Cork a family member of mine left and 1851.

Thanks for posting, we’re heading to Ireland in April, we’re doing a 6 day Castle tour mainly Northern Ireland, I just hope we have time to see from the Cliffs of Moher to Malin Head and everything in between.
