you are really a life saver. you just saved me $95 for the installation and i really appreciate that. went to canadian tire ask how much i was gonna pay for the installation and was told the above price and just shook my head. thank God i decided to go to youtube and found this video and did it myself......... thank you
I have a 2008 Pontiac G6 Sedan and this video was exactly right on how to do it. Was a little bit hard to wiggle the headlamp out but I managed. I had a burned low beam and the socket was fried. I had to cut the wires and butt connect a new socket - then change the bulb. After doing the one side I went ahead like a pro and changed the other side also. Upgraded to Silvania X-Vision H11 night vision bulbs. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!

Thank you for this! I have a 2005 and this really helped me figure it out, and I got it done. I did want to say, though, that my 2005 has a small piece of the front quarter panel that lips over the assembly. This made it difficult to follow the directions for pulling the assembly out. Once I realized I needed to pull the assembly basically straight out, it went much smoother. Not being someone who works on cars, this was an important little difference for me, so I thought I'd mention it. Once again, though, this was so helpful and I'm very grateful to have had your help.

thanks for the tutorial. gave me the confidence to get right under the hood and replace my lightbulb in 15-30 minutes. i also learned that the owner(s) before me had done the same but messed up at some point because the light isnt fitting properly with its factory hole so they made one beneath the original hole. very helpful video

Holy crap!! I wonder if all of 1A auto’s tutorials for Pontiac G6’s will be this one. That will help me very much! Not many tutorials on the 4 cylinder model, mostly the V6 or the GT/GXP models
Thanks! Just the instruction I needed! Short, direct, well lit, understandable. i went right out and performed the marker light replacement (without any blood) the first time!
This was very helpful. There is a common recall for headlights with other GM models but not the Pontiac yet. NBC has a recent article ("General Motors Headlight Recall")

just a tip for everyone watching .allways check all the lights to make sure they all work BEFORE the head lamp capsule is installed . just because a part is new doesn’t mean it’s any good . this rule of thumb applies to anything new . example… you buy a new car . it’s new but you still end up taking the car in for repairs . many part increases the odds that something can cause problem . i’m a retired gm tech . trust me on this info .
Failed to mention the pin like clip above the wheel well. it just doesn't pop off that easily on a Pontiac G6 2007. You must pull straight forward or risk breaking that pin/clip.
Does the front turn signal/parking light bulbs and the marker light need to be amber? I’m buying new trim signal bulbs and marker light bulbs. I’m not sure if I should buy clear bulbs or amber bulbs. Does it matter which one?
Are there any telltale signs that can show if an issue is just the bulb or something more? Due to vehicle issues with my mom's 2007 GM Envoy, she's been driving my 2008 G6 sedan. I'm currently searching for employment right now so I don't drive my car much and I've not gotten around to taking a look at it myself since she frequently has the car during daylight hours for school and during night hours for work (however, there is some layover time in which I could help take a look at it, myself and my brother). About a week ago, she reported an issue with the left light. I believe the turn signal still works as I did get to drive it today (completely forgot to check this issue for her though) and I know usually if there's an issue with the turn signals, it'll blink rapidly when I turn on the signal to let me know the bulb no longer works (at least, my 2005 Chevy Malibu did this. I'm hoping a newer vehicle would do the same). This evening though I just heard her complaining about both lights not working. My brother went out and took a look at it and I'm assuming he was able to get at least one light working since she's not here now. I suppose what makes me scared that it's something more than just the bulbs is the fact that my brother was able to mess around with it and get at least one working again. It's great that my mom was able to go to work (since she's holding down the fort until I can work again and help with bills as I was previously doing), but if it's just the bulbs, I don't think finagling with it should've been able to fix the issue. Perhaps it's too early to have even typed this comment without first changing the bulbs so I'll see if we can do that tomorrow but any advice would be much appreciated! We're not car-savvy people so I usually try to watch simple how-to videos about our vehicles so that we can resolve issues ourselves.
Fluffymiyster Bulbs are fairly inexpensive, so changing the bulbs and seeing if that solves your problem might be a good idea. You might also want to look into checking the tail light wiring with a voltmeter. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 866-403-3393
Although the video is VERY informative & states this housing removal applies to 2005 - 2010, my 2005 gets hung up at the fender side of the housing & DOES NOT leave it's area. Very frustrating. It would be helpful to show removal on a 2005 G6. I was hoping to do this myself.
I want to replace my headlight assemblies with new ones. I was going to pay someone to do it, but it looks pretty simple. Would you recommend someone with no car experience try this themselves?
+PhoenixB4U Thank you for checking us out. With the use of our video, someone with no experience, but a proper set of tools may complete the headlight replacement. 1aauto.com
I hate my G6 for a lot of reasons, but changing the bulbs is absolutely one of them. Most other cars I've dealt with (mine and others) you don't have to take out the entire headlight, and so can be easily done in a parking lot outside of any local auto store without tools.
Sorry I wasn't very clear, I was asking if there was a different process or set of steps for removal of the passenger side head light. I have the job done now but I ended up breaking that blue clip in the process. I think that's where everyone is getting hung up. Thanks for your video & your fast response as well!

Such an easy design to work with. I've seen other FWD sedans where you had to go in through the fender to replace a bulb.
