- Reversing a door on a dryer Samsung model DV90T5240AW
The door is not a circle like most other dryer doors, so you need to reverse the inside as well. I tell you where all the screws are so you don't have to look for them. The process is easy and can be done in 15 minutes.
Wow, this video has literally, single handedly, restored my faith in the purpose and utility of the internet.
What a great explanation, thank you for making a 5 minute job actually take 5 minutes 🙌
Thank you. Samsung video didn't cover the door panel swapping. I didnt know there were screws underneath rubber, cheers!!!
Glad I didn't force it (and found this helpful video) when I'd removed the obvious screws.
I had such a hard time figuring this out and I was -this- close to forcing it ... Glad this video could be of help to you!
Same for me )) Thank you! 👍
Thank you thank you !! When you’ve bought an expensive appliance the last thing you want to do it start taking it to bits This clip gave exactly what to do.
This video was gold info, thanks. You delivered what samsung did not.
Good tip on the screws behind the seal
Brilliant Instructions - Thanks...there is also a screw (on Mine) on the inside of the hinge that should (I think) be moved to the corresponding screw hole at what is now the top of the hinge as this hooks into the machine itself making screwing the door back on safer
Thank you! Saved me from braking the door or a trip to the store.
Brilliant. Saved me a big headache. Thank you
Thanks a lot mate. Saved me a dryer door.
Thank you very much. Exactly what I was looking for! Greetings from Germany.
Rarely comment, but compelled to do so. You're an absolute LEGEND! Like so many I couldn't find the hidden 3 screws under the seal. The official video from Samsung Care on YT only had round glass inserts so this video was more helpful than the manufacturers! Thank you for posting!
Thanks this really helped
Great instructions. Thanks
I am having problems with the latch aligning after I reverse the door. The latch is too high and the door won't close. Does anyone have a solution for it?
Thank you so much for your tutorial, couldn't find any info from Samsung in French or English!
Glad I could help!
THANK YOU
Could not find it in the manual or the video. Also the fact that these doorscrews are tightened by frikkin superman himself. Used an 8mm wrench for that.
Thank you very much 🙏 saved me time & money
Hi, I have similar model of air dryer, but after I disassembled the door in the two parts, they don't fit when I rotate 180dgs... It's irregular shape, Samsung is making me nuts..
Great video! Very useful! Thanks
Thank you so much so helpful
Very helpful, thank you!!
You're welcome!

Thanks mate. Did this to my dryer a while ago too. I've got them stacked and like them to open same way. AND wouldn't have found them two screws behind the rubber seal. Without your vid I'd probably had used power over wisdom and we all know what happens then 😄Huge thanks and best of year 2023 to You 😎👍
Just a heads up if you have a latch alignment issue - you can drill the two holes on the door hinge itself to make them wider. This gives the door some play when reinstalling back on the machine as you can slightly adjust in place before the final tightening.
I actually had to go all the way to an 8mm drill to make it align, which is somewhat disturbing to say the least. Note : don’t do the same mistake as me, tightening and loosening the screws to make it align, you only eat the threads this way.
Please elaborate where do you drill those holes? I cannot get mine alignet at all.
On the door hinge itself not the actual dryer !! The dryer has predrilled holes with threads so you should not mess with those. The door hinge on the other hand looks like is made out of a zinc alloy and it drills like butter. So you can try a few times gradually moving from one drill bit to the next one to make the wholes wider . Then you align the door and tighten the bolts.
Thats what I thought, thank you!@@dimm99
You just saved my day :)
Thank you!
Thank you!
hey. i have the same dyer. do you know what to do when door switch goes more inside that make me 'open door' eror? when i press with something long its working. i think i need to position it better.
Thank you so so much❤️
It was very helpful, samsung web details where not saying what do on the door. Thanks
Thank you!
Thanks so much!
Thanks mate 😘
I need to reverse my door, and while these instructions make sense, I'm a bit worried about removing and replacing the rubber seal. Do you have pointers for this?
Just gently pull. Replacing is as easy as tucking it back in. Very easy. I was worried too but it was much easier than I thought.
@@intGod thank you very much, I’ll give it a go 🤞
@@nicolathomson8807 Did you manage to remove it? I'm stuck at removing the seal as well!
Beni büyük beladan kurtardın çok sağol
is anyone else having alignment issues after doing the reverse door? I suspect they mis-stamped where the hinge holes are on one side..... Ultimately theres no real give on where the holes are so what is stamped at manufacture is what it is (and appears wrong), once the door is reversed, the latch is much higher then it was in the normal position and only "just" catches, however, the whole door would "drop" when closing against the latch (its like you are forcing the door close and putting pressure either ion the plastic or the frame of the machine to get it to close)
Same issue..you already hv the solution?
@@hngfishietv3577 Same issue here… Any tips?
@mattymatt2027 Same issue here… Any tips?
@@TravisCampbellRocks @hngfishietv3577 - after a lengthy battle with Samsung, The shop i brought it from realised i had enough and resent me one (at their own good will, not with samsungs .... go "the good guys" :-))....
sadly that one also had the same issue.....
I ended up carefully "forcing" it closed and ran it afew times and it sorted itself out.... I suspect running it with the heat and all softens the metal and bends it into the desired shape and things magically align better after..... Im not recommending this, only saying that's what i did, you need to consider how off yours is and if you want to risk it.... i suspect that if its still under warranty and you are frustrated enough, and you are doing only what the instructions say (the instructions online implied it can be done by end user, their offical youtube video also implies the same....ruclips.net/video/ARSGvTo_4-A/видео.html) then if it goes to cr@p, you migth be able top push a claim through....
I also have an alignement issue... You found something ?@@TravisCampbellRocks
Thanks... couldnt figure out why the door wont seperate. It was 3x hidden screw at ruclips.net/video/3_H4sqXiUl8/видео.html (by the way, i have a different type DV90T6240LE but as far i can see the positions of screws are the same)
I have the same dryer and swapped sides. But I feel air blowing out of the top of the door. Can’t be normal? Does yours blow air out of the top door?
No it does not. Maybe the rubber ring needs some adjusting?
@@intGod the rubber ring looks okay to me. It only goes in one way. It’s almost as if the door isn’t latching properly since I switched sides
@@CarstenDressler I'm afraid I cannot help you any further then Carsten. I'm just a guy posting videos, I'm not a certified expert. Maybe loosen the screws on the hinge and see if you can adjust the door a little?
@@intGod I sorted it out. I didn’t press the ring in all the way. It sticks out a bit but prevents the air leaking. Stupid design
@@CarstenDressler Fabelhaft!
Thank you for this. Just don't tell people to remove the rubber! Not necessary, it can be pushed out of the way easily to access the screws.
The important thing I came here for was how do I pop out the dryer window. With plastic you don't want yo do the wrong move. All you say is "you pop it out." No kidding. In the future, show the steps by doing then and demonstrating them, otherwise it's pointless.
