If you ever run out of baking powder again you can make your own. One quarter teaspoon baking soda, one half teaspoon cream of tartar & one quarter corn starch. The corn starch is optional & only to prevent clumping.
If you have a vacuum sealer ( I can't remember if you do or not) you could separate the hot dogs, flash freeze them, and then vacuum seal them either in small bags (2-3 hotdogs) or all in one large bag ... no sticking together! Stay safe and warm. ❤ and 🙏
Bean and ham soup what I put in it. White beans, chicken stock, half of can of diced tomato and spices. When the beans are done to your liking then add ham to cook for 20 minutes. Take off heat for 20 minutes then reheat up the soup.
Enjoyed your video, everyone should know fire safety, you had a good grocery haul. I pray daily you you and Michelle and your kitty. Stay safe and warm. ❤ ❤ ❤
I put 2 weiners in a sandwich bag, do that for the whole pack, then place that in a freezer bag. That way when you want to cook them, you just take out however many you need and you don’t have to worry about splitting them apart.
Plus, to save on zip lock bags, when you take the 2 out of the small bag, put the empty small bag back into the large bag. When you get a new package, use the same bags ( rinse out if needed). It saves money and reduces plastic waste. It is amazing the similarities between our two countries as far as "leadership." The only difference ce is that ours hasn't resigned (but he still has 8 days, and there have been rumors ... I shudder at that thought), but he is doing everything he (or whoever is in charge) can do to leave us in turmoil for the next administration to try and fix. And, if course , the new administration will be blamed for the outcome of those that can't. So much for "peaceful transition," just another lie. Anyway, we all will make it through. We always have, despite those trying to put, and keep, us down. God bless the victims facing hardships in California, as well as those forgotten by our government in FL, SC, GA, TN ,OH, and Maui. Off my soapbox. Sorry for the rant, and sorry that other countries are having to go through these problems as well.
@ I do wash out the bags til they can’t be used again. God bless us all and pray that everyone will turn to Jesus and repent of their sins. And pray that everything will be okay.
Hope kitty gets better. I’d call vet and ask about side effects. My oldest cat isn’t doing well. He is almost 13. Peeing and drinking a lot. So I have an appt for Tuesday . Thinking kidneys. I love my pets like family just like you and Michelle do yours. Thanks for reminder to shake the fire extinguisher. I gasp at some of the prices you show. Everything still going up. I’m 65 and not the healthiest but I’m home and do make myself cook from scratch and I have a pressure canner so I do up a lot in one go. I make lots of soups and I just made 8 pints (500 ml/16 ounces) last week. Four Ham n bean and four split pea and ham. Worked out to 75 cents each. You add some water to it to make enough for two bowls about 10 ounces each. It’s delicious . I’m glad I’m able to make it I won’t always be. Looks like you are all stocked up again for the work week . Enjoy your weekend and thank you for the video! 😊
Hi Kevin I enjoy your videos immensely it's your voice and personality I have a sciatic leg I could use a prayer I'm doing physical therapy but I am with it such a great man just what I know about it thanks guys I appreciate you all I love the cat just having you and Michelle the cat is grateful see you later guys
My daughter gave is a Fire Blanket for Christmas which I hung on the wall in the kitchen. All you have to do is throw the blanket on the fire to put it out.
Another great video! Sweet cat.For her age, she is doing well💓 So much great information on fire safety. Thank you Kevin! I didn't know about checking the date on a smoke detector or shaking your fire extinguisher. Very helpful to know. Great grocery haul! Never heard of Campbell's soup " chicken gumbo". Interesting. Is it same flavor as the Chunky Soup chicken gumbo? Very spicy? 🤔 Love a good soup! ❤& prayers from PEI God bless you & your lovely family ❤
I like the size of that spatula. I’m going to check out my supermarket for one, the stores by me only have the large sizes. Happy New Year to you and Michelle.
Say Kevin did you know that if you freeze bread it makes it starch resistant. I’m doing that now and find that if I toast it then it tastes the same to me . Thanks for the update on the smoke detector nice to see some rid bits about safety . You always have good tips . Stay safe my friends ,
I prefer plant based Mac & cheese, too. Come on, Tupi! You can get that BP down. Try to cheer up and be kind to Michelle and Kevin. You can do it. Take those meds. 💖🐈💖
Hope you and Michelle are doing well. Kitty may have a tooth infection. Same thing happened to mine and after the extraction she was doing a lot better. Take care.
Thank-you for sharing fire safety tips. If you or a friend has a costco membership, you might find bran buds there. A large box there was a good price compared to the supermarket I shop at.
Thanks Kevin for the haul..And reminder about the Fire Extinguisher, Alarms...I dont get into Politics nor Religion..But my prayers are with Canada for change for the better,( hopefully)..We here in States know whats beginning said from Trump on Canada..We will see...Prayers to all....❤
Also purchased. And got really strong magnet hooks, and slapped it on my frig. Passed 1 to my dad's place, my friend's house, & 1 to my mother's weekly group, because they cook. ...... And yeah, fire extinguishers need care, skill & replacement. & they are for different kinds of fire.
Happy 2025 Michelle and Kevin! Thank you for praying for all of us. Everyday the battle picks up a little more. I appreciate you reminding of us fire safety, Kevin. I must tell you that your smoke alarm and one of ours were surely from the same manufacturer! I'm absolutely positive they were made on a Monday morning after a long weekend where there was waaaaay too much celebrating. Our living room smoke alarm waits patiently to make sure we're asleep and, (and as Michelle noted), the night terror begins! We may have changed the battery 3 weeks ago, but it begins to squawk and scream at us. Absolutely terrorizing. Like a rebellious toddler it won't stick to a normal schedule, after all how fun would that be? Poor hubby gets up, gets the ladder out, (ours is at the top of a taller ceiling - another fun aspect, and I get fresh batteries. We have finally started using rechargeable batteries because this smoke detector was eating us out of house and home. We have to go to the hardware store soon and on the top of the list is a replacement. Smoke alarm you have had your chance! As you can tell the impact of this hellish device has taken it's toll at our house. 😵💫😡I hope your device and ours will be happy in the trash! Good sleeping!
If you're in an apartment, the replacement of the smoke detector should be done by the apartment owner. They used to come in every 6 months to maintain them at my building.
Nice haul 👍🏻 Sorry to see your country is in a state of political turmoil. Hopefully all Canadiens will stand together and do the right thing to secure their freedom from tyranny. G-d be with us all. 🙏🏻
Sorry, but your prices are very high even for Canada....unless you are in the North? Would never pay $3.47 for a single loaf of bread. A couple of the items are $1.50 @ Dollar Tree if you have one close ie. croutons and bread (if you get there early)! Thank you again for your content though as helpful in some areas.
Always appreciate your comments on many topics. I'm a westerner and have voted for anyone but Liberal ever since I was eligible. But enough about politics! Thanks for your latest video. If you don't mind my asking, I see you have some appliances above the cupboards. Do you plan to use them again when circumstances permit? Thank you!
Kevin Have you heard that President Trump is thinking about combining Canada with the United States as the 51st state? How do you feel about that if it happens? He will lower your taxes.
I watch your videos from time to time and enjoy them. I was taken aback by your comments on our government and our prime minister. I think videos on home making should stick to that subject and not drag in personal opinions on politics.
Well wishes for the kitty 😺 ❤ she's doing well for her age 😊
Great haul. Good info video.

Hello Kevin and Michelle.
Nothing like a good bologna sandwich 🥪👍

It is the same with rice.
If you put rice and pasta in the fridge and get it cold, it becomes starch resistant as well
Do you have a link to info about this? Preferably the research around it. It sounds interesting.@kathyborden9880
Makes Low Carb..Who knew our moms had us on low carb( which didn't exist back in the days) diet then..😂😂
I prefer plant based Mac & cheese, too. Come on, Tupi! You can get that BP down. Try to cheer up and be kind to Michelle and Kevin. You can do it. Take those meds. 💖🐈💖
I live aboard my Trawler. I check my extinguishers every few weeks.
Hope you and Michelle are doing well. Kitty may have a tooth infection. Same thing happened to mine and after the extraction she was doing a lot better. Take care.
Blessing to you both ❤

I'll look into that. Thanks!
@thehomemakerhusband just for curiosity's sake I looked at costco online. The box is 1.05 kg, regular price is $12.00, now on sale fo $10.00.

I'm fascinated by the Canadian situation and watch a lot about it. I don't know if I'll regret it, but I'm becoming a fan girl for Pierre.😄

I sure hope so! Rotten things!

Yes we won’t be replacing it. It’s part of the building system.

We are in one of the most expensive provinces in this country. Our prices are high. It’s not optional. We don’t have a dollar tree.
Always appreciate your comments on many topics. I'm a westerner and have voted for anyone but Liberal ever since I was eligible. But enough about politics!

Hi. Yes we use all our appliances.
Kevin Have you heard that President Trump is thinking about combining Canada with the United States as the 51st state? How do you feel about that if it happens? He will lower your taxes.
@janhuffman2972 he wasn’t serious. Canada would never do that. Trump was kidding.

@cleadouglas6448 sorry you feel that way. I will continue to discuss this mess of a government!
Thanks for the vid.
