I’m a Chicago resident and was homeless in the city for 2 years! As a citizen, why wasn’t there anything like this in place to help me or current homeless Chicago citizens? Had it not been for my veteran status, I wouldn’t have been able to get back on my feet and have my own place. Why can’t we help our own people for decades, but drop everything to help illegals? Clearly it’s 100% political and has nothing to do with any desire to help. They just want the votes and appearance of caring. It would be the greatest thing to see Chicagoans turn Chicago into a red city! Only then can there be a future for the city and its people. Tens of thousands move away each year. If you want the population to start growing, you need to end the damage done by blindly voting blue.

Same here. I was a homeless teen in NYC. I would get meals at shelters or church soup kitchens. Eventually someone noticed I wasn’t getting an education so I had to join a city street cleaning program and I scored a room in an SRO. I studied for my GED at night classes. When I got my GED I applied for better work than street cleaning (I only made $2 an hour) and after working as a cashier, I finally moved into a studio apt with my own bathroom and an oven.
I would have more respect for these cities if they did half of what they do for the homeless and underserved in their own towns as they have done for migrants
But that would be WACIST!!! MAGA's are "America first" and that's fascism!!! So Democrats are "America LAST." and boy are they showing it.
The homeless are a way for many people to make a lot of money. You can’t keep throwing money at the homeless. Most of the homeless are addicts and mentally ill. The so called activists make it very hard to force addicts into treatment and the mentally ill into hospitals.
That sounds good but if all really went that well..Think about it if you were giving free pizza,clothes,and ice cream away unlimited amount from your house every night .Then guess what strangers would show up to your house every day and night ..The problem is when is enough the people will just continue coming and coming and coming until the city runs out of not only resources for those illegals only there to take advantage of the resources available to them but eventually the resources dry up for the actual citizens as well and by that time the illegal migrants start to migrant somewhere else...The bigger problem is none of these migrants have documents.And it is said that Venezuela is emptying out there jails pushing there criminals to our borders So we're going to have pity for criminals okay which ones ? Who are the friendly criminals and who are the child rapists murdered and lifers ? The answer is we don't know they show up crossing our border undocumented that is the crisis the Biden administration has caused by allowing anybody claiming there fleeing there home country for Asylum here in the US this is what happens when you have an open border you no longer have a country.

As a Christian I can say the church is dead wrong. You don't support sin and enable bad behavior especially by strangers before your own people. The church has lost its way. What a lack of courage by the U.S. church.

What I don't understand is why this huge city never seemed to have the money before to take care of the needs of their poorer communities, like to upgrade schools, parks, roads and bridges, repair and replace old water pipes and gas lines, help citizens with housing, open new, open air fresh produce markets have more resorces for the elderly and disabled, have after school programs for kids, open a YMCA, help churches, build more medical clinics, upgrade shopping malls, open more drug rehab centers, have better pay for police officers, add more 911 call stations, create programs for the homeless ..So many things that a big city needs to take care of their people and help communities to thrive...But instead decides to be a Santuary city and shove all of its citizens to the back of the room and welcome in strangers from another country, showering them with gift cards, food and lodging, cell phones, free healthcare, bus passes, attorneys, free bus and air travel...to the tune of Billions of dollars, that could have helped its own people over the past 10-20 years and brought its communities up to modern standards..Now, I don't live in Chicago, I dont even live in a big city, but I can tell u that the people of the USA are getting screwed, because magically the money is just appearing out of nowhere to help strangers, sometimes displacing children from their school to accomodate, illegal, and ungrateful strangers...people who will eventually drain the system, over crowd the neighborhoods, over burden the school systems, and bring more crime to the area...If I lived in Chicago, i would for sure vote that Govenor out and I'd be pissed as hell...and this goes for any other Blue state that kicks their American Citizens to the Curb for thousands of strangers..

As a Texan, I have to wonder why so many people scream in rage at the very idea of Texas, "Sharing the burden" with places that have howled for years that they consider themselves a sanctuary where people are welcome, when we never considered ourselves that. For Years, we have struggled to feed and care for the millions that arrive on our doorstep. Got any idea how hard it is to get bilingual teachers who speak English and Chinese, Farsi, or French? We do. Small towns around the state have almost been crippled by the influx of new students who don't speak English. Our hospitals are devastated by the illegals who come in with everything from TB, Measles, Cancer, Malaria, Dengue Fever, and so many other things, then walk away without paying a cent. A 20 bed hospital, that the community fought to get for years, can't handle the debt, and close down, leaving the citizens without any help, and DC is still not doing a thing for us.

Yeah, that’s what I came to say. Chicago really doesn’t have any nice & shiny places or neighborhoods anymore to entertain normal visitors, let alone the illegal ones. We’re going to have problems during the DNC Convention. I’m in the suburbs and I don’t go into Chicago anymore. It used to be so much fun, now it’s dodging bullets and hoping you don’t get car jacked. I’m against the Convention being held in Chicago.

Not only did he pull money out of nowhere but he opened up locations that had been shut down for years due to not meeting code enforcement or infrastructure regs. The migrants come & suddenly these buildings are safe, people/landlords that weren't able to provide housing in the past can now open up all this housing & shelter locations. Don't even get me started on what happened to the COVID funding & how it's been used inappropriately...the abandoned school w/ the report made of multiple thousands of dollars of missing equipment paid for by COVID funds.

When the US stops sanctioning nations and allows for international trade between countries instead of using sanctions to steal nations natural resources and impoverishing these countries, we will see very little migration from poverty. Things were made worse by CV 19. The US has a capacity to stop all of this migration by ending these draconian sanctions in order to get free slavery for natural resources, such as lithium, cobalt, copper, oil, natural gas. The US has spent more on war in the past 50 years than it has on its own infrastructure and country. I love my country I will always love my country, but I do not love my government and the way it acts like a mob boss to the world.this is a case of chickens coming home to roost.
