Saw "Dracula" in theaters on first release; loved it then and still love it now. Haven't seen the film in at least a decade but I still remember how cool and unusual all the practical effects were. And before you even mentioned it here, I was thinking about that scene where Dracula's shadow acts out on it's own:) I liked how the film pulled no punches when dealing with the vampires feeding on the newborn. One of my very favorite Coppola films, it was nominated for 4 Oscars and won 3.

The Oscar’s it won were so deserving. I would have loved to have seen this in theatres it would have been pretty mind blowing. I think the practical effects and shadows will be the thing I think about first when it comes to this movie, it’s just such an inspired stylistic choice.
