Gloria...ya know what I like about this....no mics on anyone....Jane Adams Theatre (where this was performed) was a middle school auditorium/theatre. It sat about the same as the Van Duzer Theatre at Cal Poly Humboldt. You really had to project or you weren't heard.
@@actorshmactor I remember singing in musicals with no mikes! Aldonza in “Man of La Mancha “ at FRT ages ago, Louisa in “The Fantastiks”, Sarah in “Guys and Dolls” and Philia in “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” at NCRT. The director for M of LM had never directed a musical before so I had to tell him that we couldn’t be staged singing upstage at any point. I mean, it’s part of the training for Heaven’s sake! I had to really learn to point and focus my sound
@@gloriamontgomery6900 Yep, it certainly was part of the drill...I know it's "de rigueur" now and audiences expect mics...BUT I really don't like them at all. Romantic scenes are completely fouled up when you have a kiss or embrace...there's all this mic bumping etc. etc AND the mics that wrap around the face are just ugly to look at. Vocal discrepancies are also highlighted with no mics. If you couldn't project, you weren't heard. So training was paramount. But, I understand times have changed and folks don't seem to want trained voices as much any more. The pendulum swings back and forth all the time.
Good God...this was in 1992!...never knew it even existed. How fun to look back. Kathy Henson Gehrig our Little Red was perfect. Jeff Steitzer directed...such a joyous cast and crew.
I don't know who put this up but I'm glad they did. Unfortunately, I don't have any old VHS copy of the show. Wish I did! And you, sir...were wonderful in this show. Such heart and humor...
Really great work! So sorry I missed seeing you in this, Brad.
Thanks Gale...It was a great show. Wished it could have run a year!
This is so cool, Brad!

So wonderful… do you have the rest of the show?
Brad and Kathy, how excellent to see your work after all these years. Where did this come from? Any chance of seeing more?
