The video for Lyfjaberg was mainly filmed in the mountains at Tustna in Norway. The lyrics are not in old norse as it's mentioned down below . Yes, concur! If U Like this nordic sound 'Helvegen' (Way to Hel (Not hell!)). Hel was the nordic goddess of death. And Aurora stands for herself... Her Life concert in Nidarosdomen in Trondheim (North Norway) is beautiful.
And to think that Einar Selviks' previous band was Gorgoroth, a black metal band. He actually founded Wardruna together with Gaahl, the vocalist of Gorgoroth.
Northern Europe is a real hotbed for musical talent, and has been for the past few years. Whether you like your music with a symphonic/folk metal/heavy metal style, exploring Northern Europe is a good place to start. This song conjures up memories of an Irish band called Clanaad..who introduced folk style music with beautiful vocals, which was good enough to attract wide interest on both sides of the pond. Wardruna produce, for me, a hypnotic rhythm which is infectious, and should appeal to music lovers irrespective of genre..Celtic music given a 21st Century makeover.👏👏 Sabina…when your head matches the rhythm, this tells me that you appreciated what you were seeing and hearing.
I got to see them live in Dallas Texas last October and holy hell was it an amazing performance. We waited for 3 years because of covid but it was worth every second! If you get a chance to see them don't pass it up. It's truly unforgettable and so beautiful. They got 3 standing ovations from them crowd and all of us were very respectful the entire show.
I don't hear the sound of war in this. This is about climbing that mountain and letting nature heal your soul. It is more like a march to the summit. And yes, it does strike a cord in out ancestral memory. Or at least it is nice to pretend that it does. Also, (ikke for at plage) I still really want you to listen to that Ren song I mentioned "Hi Ren". I have watched maybe 50 reactions to it, but it is yours I am waiting for.
I am a 66 year old English, Pink Floyd fan, which is how I came across your reaction vids. I am also a big fan of Aroura which introduced me to Wardrona and Heiling. Primeval stuff that I really enjoy but have never really understood, why or how. I really enjoy your analysis, especially in your captions which help me understand the power and the beauty of the things that touch me so much
I also recommend Raido, and well, anything else. All is good but yes, check Raido too if you wish. And thanks for your reactions and thoughts. As for the song, it's actually about healing, the healing mountain. Tells about the travel towards healing, dropping all the material things which aren't needed, struggling on the path to the top of the healing mountain where, when you make it, you will be healed of all that ails you. Lyrics of the song are great, there should also be subtitles or subtitled version.
One of my favourite Wardruna videos. It's a full-body experience! Also, Wardruna's music gets me so deeply that I sit and listen to it for hours with my headphones on and it always grounds me completely. I love your non-interrupting style :)
I love how you let the music take you away. Your reaction to the music and facial expressions are priceless. I love your eyes. Thank you for not stopping the video and using captioning. It lets you get into the music and stay with it till the end.
If you want to go deeper into Wardruna rabbit hole, check their "Kvitravn", "Voluspa" (version accompanied by Bergen Filharmoniske Orkester & Edvard Grieg Kor) and "Helvegen" (with Aurora). Love your not-interrupting way of reacting.
Wardruna is one of the Bands i really love, their Liveshow is fantastic aswell, everyone around me was dancing while in a Trance. It really hits different to see them Live. Einar Selvik is just a genius and an incredible songwriter - Singer. Odal and Perthro are fantastic Songs and they give me the chills every time.
Wardruna became well known after some of their music was used for the soundtrack of the show "Vikings". Bands that I recommended after Heilung and want to mention here again: Nytt Land, Faun - Gwydion
Wardruna is an amazing group and this is one of my favorite songs off of their recent album. However, I strongly recommend songs like Raido, Odal, Rotlaust tre fell, Helvegen, and Andvevarljod. Simply mind blowing.
Einar Svelvik, the singer, is big about maintaining a tie to the ancient culture and ways. He's specifically said he does not try to romanticize the time, but it should be remembered. They sing in the old Norse and play instruments from the time. From my understanding the song is about maintaining a tie to nature and allowing it to heal and restore your spirit. Already mentioned, but the live performance of "Helvegen" with Aurora in the theatre at Bergen is very powerful and emotional. I'm confident you would greatly enjoy it.
Einar is very committed to bringing about the culture that once been by creating new songs, new traditions. Try listening to the Viking Suite performed with orchestra.
As everyone else have expressed, this feels like an awakening of our souls that have been asleep for a millennia. I’m an American mutt who knows her dna lineage, but hearing this as well as heilung I felt an instantaneous reconnect to my ancient ancestors in a way that felt exact. I did not feel like I was treading in a space that I can only experience by looking through the window, because I could feel the pathway to home racing through my veins and igniting memories of past lives and kinship. Absolutely life changing and man I cannot express enough how much I dig the trance like state their music sweeps my mind and body into.
I love Wardruna. You should see the version of this video with the English translation lyrics included. It adds to the experience when you understand what he's saying. I also recommend Eivor.

Kvitravn is a good song from him. Also what's cool about the singer is that he was on the tv show vikings during a episode and he did some songs for the game assassin's creed valhalla and is your boat singer
I love Wardruna and their music underlined with their videos is just an incredible experience. At some point, I really do want to see them live. I can't not at least try and suggest a somewhat similar cathartic song (more modern folk music - and prog - but from Korea) from a band very few people even know of. Jambinai - Sun. Tears. Red. Even without a reaction, I want people to find them.
Yeah - just wanted to chime in a bit. This is a Norwegian band, and I think that they sing in either modern Norwegian, or more even probable Old Norse (they're big on history, and often are inspired by archeological finds, etc.). And also - all Scandinavian music is said to be quite melancholic...it is proven be have been so for centuries (by actual finds of documented songs) - and/so it wouldn't be too far of a stretch to imagine that the music of Scandinavia have 'always' been like that: if for nothing else, the life here has usually been quite hard, brutal and harsh (at least historical speaking that is),
Great reaction. Hope you Will react to Wardrunas Gra.Not many who has reacted to that song.Dont understand it...its amazing.Another Norwegian amazing group is Kalandra.Try out Borders or some other from them.❤️👍
Check out also his Collaboration with FAUN called "Odin" and his "VIKINGS" Soundtrack Suite.......also SKALD from France,KATI RAN from the Netherlands and of course the Mindblowing MYKUR !......you just scratched the "Scene" :)

Raido, official video is my favorite song by them I think you might like the band Nytt Land. Siberian throat singing. Try the song U-Gra or the song Ritual, official video.
If you realy want to drift : SIGUR ROS from Island....check out their 15 Minutes Live Version from "UNNAMED # 8" in their Capital City, the Greatest Concert ever has happened in Island History....
Since you're loving our suggestions and viking roots, how about a Shield Maiden. She is called Eivor Palsdottir and she is from the Faroe Islands (awesone sceanery) and she does somethng unexpected in middle of the live song which i think you'll like ruclips.net/video/wsl-KHGe4Kk/видео.html
You should listen and react to this one as well. Not Wardruna, but the leadsinger Einar together with Matoma. Here he sings in sami-alnguage, an old native language. In Lyfjaberg - Healing mountain he sings in old norse ruclips.net/video/flJFy21yseI/видео.html

Yeah - just wanted to chime in a bit. This is a Norwegian band, and I think that they sing in either modern Norwegian, or more even probable Old Norse (they're big on history, and often are inspired by archeological finds, etc.).
And also - all Scandinavian music is said to be quite melancholic...it is proven be have been so for centuries (by actual finds of documented songs) - and/so it wouldn't be too far of a stretch to imagine that the music of Scandinavia have 'always' been like that: if for nothing else, the life here has usually been quite hard, brutal and harsh (at least historical speaking that is),
Sabina, I love you.
Hi Sabina, have a nice weekend, greetings from Poland🌺🌹😗🙂
Love this❤❤❤
Когда смотрю этот клип.. становится приятно холодно и спокойно
Great reaction. Hope you Will react to Wardrunas Gra.Not many who has reacted to that song.Dont understand it...its amazing.Another Norwegian amazing group is Kalandra.Try out Borders or some other from them.❤️👍
I LOVE Gra also!! Anyone with any connection to WOLF, and those who don't, yet should give it a try. Skol, Aho.
Check out also his Collaboration with FAUN called "Odin" and his "VIKINGS" Soundtrack Suite.......also SKALD from France,KATI RAN from the Netherlands and of course the Mindblowing MYKUR !......you just scratched the "Scene" :)
This is my cuntry's old language. Norrønt. It is an old way to speak Norwegian🇧🇻 this way to speak in Norway died out along with the vikings. Enjoy😊
You also ask where this video has been shot. My guess is Edda/Telemark in Norway
More Wardruna pls!!
Galdra by faun is one to check out...layers of vocals that are amazing

Wow that was simply amazing I hope you do more like that I was really into that that's why I like Led Zeppelin I mean you're not the same but there are some songs Led Zeppelin do our Viking ish but this one was amazing great reaction
So good to see you are discovering these beautiful folk music bands.
Another great one to listen to is Faun. They are German but also sing some songs in English and other languages.
My recommendation for a first listen is Galdra. It Features Lindy Fay Hella from Wardruna.

Raido, official video is my favorite song by them
I think you might like the band Nytt Land. Siberian throat singing. Try the song U-Gra or the song Ritual, official video.
Quick Pro Tip: Almost every Wardruna Video has English CC on it.
If you realy want to drift : SIGUR ROS from Island....check out their 15 Minutes Live Version from "UNNAMED # 8" in their Capital City, the Greatest Concert ever has happened in Island History....
You also need to atch Faun "Galdra".
Or Karuna, Diese Kalte nacht, or even Quant Je Suis Mis Au Retour//
U are awsome ❤
Since you're loving our suggestions and viking roots, how about a Shield Maiden.
She is called Eivor Palsdottir and she is from the Faroe Islands (awesone sceanery) and she does somethng unexpected in middle of the live song which i think you'll like

Hi Sabina, nice video, he was singing in old norse language, you on the other hand, looking very cute.
That is actually not old Norse but Norwegian!
He sings in the western dialekt where the vokalist are from!
You should listen and react to this one as well. Not Wardruna, but the leadsinger Einar together with Matoma. Here he sings in sami-alnguage, an old native language.
In Lyfjaberg - Healing mountain he sings in old norse

It seems to me that it is not far away from Bergen where i am from!
@@karstenstormiversen4837 Great language Karsten! I like different languages. Arw you a women?
@@beyond_meridian_sports Karsten is a male name, commonly used in especially Germany/Northern Germany an Denmark, but also in rest of Scandinavia but to a lesser extent in Sweden and Norway.
Hehe, it's funny to see you wondering what the language is, and where the video was filmed, even saying it feels like home in a weird way. It's not that long ago that Norway was a part of Denmark 🤣
Her kjære Danske venner, Norge har mer deilig å by på:
