@24:04 your opinion about staying quiet to blend in in Japan is exactly what US youths do by speaking out to blend in. Kids are kids everywhere and want to fit in; maybe US kids pick the louder option. And, it's kinda awesome on our side. Much respect to the quiet, too.

I've got a friend who lived in Japan for a few years and he has told me how incredibly seriously they take exact timekeeping on Japanese railways.

Yeah in the US its frowned upon to smoke near the entrance of any establishment. I think most smoke by their car in the parking lot or maybe near the building but a distance away from the door. There is usually a place to dispense your cigarette by the door before you enter though.

I spent a few years in Japan in the late 70's. I loved it! Very nice people. America is friendly, too, I hope visitors find it welcoming.

Some parts of the US are more affectionate. Where I am from in the Southeast of Louisiana, it's more common for people to hug each other than other places. It's a huge country full of many different regional cultural variations, so it pays to do research ahead of time if you plan on visiting a particular area!

I find Japanese culture pretty crazy and I think you guys feel the same about us. I guess the biggest difference is people in Canada and Japan are much more polite and respectful than us Americans in general. Japan(and most of the world) views Americans as cowboys running around shooting guns. When I think of Japan I think Godzilla, executive suit people who work all the time and the Hikikomori with their Waifu

Do you really think that Canada and the USA are 'the same' Peach? I haven't been to either but I've always imagined that there were cultural differences between the two.

The multi cultural aspect and customs are pretty much the same? I don’t know why but some Americans think Canadians live in the wayyy north. We’re not that far apart :)
