Make this simple homopolar motor with a strong neodymium magnet. The coil is shaped from BARE copper wire with no insulation. Stick the strong magnet to the battery button. Then place the loop of the coil in the cylindrical magnet. As soon as you give the coil a little jerk it will start spinning magically.
