I own a Faure Le Page tote, love the quality! My friend has a Goyard tote and I was shocked how flimsy it was and it sags in the middle, I would never buy one. As you mentioned, there are a lot better quality designer totes.

I'm not a LV fan but the Louis Vuitton Neverfull looks like the best tote for the price. The Goyard tote is abysmal quality even at a lower price point.
Inflation is a beast, tho'. I bought my FLP Daily Battle 37 in 2018 for 700 USD. Same bag is a whopping 1500 at the moment! The quality is amazing, tho'. I've got my eye on Moreau for the summer! Thanks for this recap, it's very insightful!
I really hate the open tote concept and love a tote with a zipper. Ended up selling my Neverfull for this reason (amongst others, just didn't like this tote). I live in a city where I take public transport and there's some running sometimes involved and a tote without a zipper is a huge no for me. I've used a Longchamp for years for this reason. Also, it's truly the best tote for Travel as well. I realized I couldn't do open bags when I was running for the train and had to remove my bag, secure the top and sprint.
The lightest weight and most durable bag wins with me. Goyard is the lightest, but the Neverfull really is the most durable. Leather is the most beautiful though plus I wish the top would zip closed. Thank you so much for your insight.
@@SoAnesu Whoops! St Tropez…my bad! I also have a small Vincennes which is my everyday work tote. I felt the St Tropez totes weren’t robust enough to carry a laptop. (They probably are - they’re quite sturdy.)
@@AyaMama532 I really like the St Tropez tote. The canvas is quite sturdy, and I like the way they have sewn the straps (which are hand sewn) onto the bag - makes for a stronger bag I feel. The zipped pocket inside is gigantic and it also has a ring to attach keys or a separate pouch (I didn’t get a separate pouch with either of my bags). I prefer the strap length on the GM, to the MM, it’s a bit longer and can fit over bulky clothes with ease. The GM is a really big bag, the MM is perfectly sized for everyday, and the straps still fit quite comfortably on the shoulder. I also have a small Vincennes which is sublime…the leather is oh so soft. I used it for 6 months straight and it still looks brand new. (I take care of my bags, but I I don’t baby them.) Hope this helps!
This is a FANTASTIC video and I just subscribed to your channel. I've owned several neverful's and sold them all and won't buy one again. I agree with you about the Goyard St Louis being flimsy so I bought the Goyard Artois in gorgeous grey. It has reinforced leather on the bottom corners, has a structured base, is thicker, and has a zipper. One day I'll get around to doing a video on this beautiful bag. I'm now considering the Faure la page line of products but am leaning towards the Quiver bucket bag. I just wish I had seen it in person so I can make an informed decision. One last thing - I LOVE how educational your videos are!!! Great job. I appreciated all this information so much.
I was researching Moynat and found this! Saint Louis was originally created to be a beach tote! It’s a very packable bag for flight travel because it is so thin and flimsy - currently I’m packing a small Longchamp but I’m looking for a luxurious tote that’ll pack flat. I think I am in love with the Moynat tote and the Daily Battle bag but I don’t think they’ll do well stuffed into a backpack. 😭 Blessed to have these dilemmas. 🫶🏼✨
I was torn as well about having to choose between Goyard (super flimsy & weak) and the LV Neverfull (was not a huge fan). A friend told me abut Faure Le Page so I looked into it and bought the 35inch - Battle tote with zipper. It is my favorite bag and it is super strong. I am glad I took the chance honestly.
I love the space that a tote provides, but I've struggled to really get into that style of bag. I think that is because of my love for a more structured bag, coupled with the thin straps. Who knows, I may change my mind one day.
I agree with you, I prefer smaller and more structured bags so I really would not use a tote per se to go out. I do have a Tod's all leather ( really dark, ebony brown) zippered ( a must for me) tote/ work bag that I have been enjoying using for my ballet classes ( instead of a gym bag) as I find it works well both functionally and esthetically.However, I absolutely enjoy watching these videos. Anesu it really the master in searching and presenting this sort of content!
I saw a leather tote from Carolina Herera but without a zip! What’s this about having a zip with the tote my viewers are too demanding I’ll have to keep my eyes open for zipped totes.
I have two St Louis which are much less common in the US V’s LV. But the black handle on mine is bleeding dye and has ruined 3 garments of mine. I will be selling them and looking at the ones you recommend. Thanks Anesu.
The material they are made from although thicker and stronger is not heavy. MOYNAT is going through significant internal changes at the moment and I’m not sure if they still have the same style or they have introduced a new material I’m not familiar with.

It's so useful for us who live far from boutiques 🙂 Generally, I find the pouches that come with totes to be very flat, therefore not offering much in terms of capacity and usabiliity 😒 It's better to attach your own larger SLG with a strap or chain. The Faure Le Page would be the best choice for me thanks to the adjustable handles, as I prefer to hand or elbow carry my bags.

I have an LV Neverfull in black epi leather. I only considered this version so as to not have the canvas versions that everyone else has. However, the straps, while not extremely thin, are thin/sturdy enough to be slightly annoying (the shoulder dig-in). It seems the Vachetta leather on those more common canvas versions might be softer. If only I had found Anesu several years back! 🙂
My Faure Le Page DB is lovely, but the service I received from them as a business was awful- the first bag had a ripped lining and they took three months of chasing to get a replacement

Thank you! I would go with the Bally Layka one of my favourite styles together with the sandah. Smarter bag you can dress up or down, similar in price to the moreau bag which is casual and fairly simple but you get more bag for your money! And a good bag for that matter!
Thank you for your thorough comparison! I've been curious about the Moreau tote as I own a couple of wallets and recently purchased the Chanceliere. I realized that I need a spring/summer tote that's more weatherproof than my all-leather Mansur Gavriel tote. I've never been much of a Neverfull fan and have been wondering what other tote options there are besides the Neverfull and St. Louis (which seems really delicate and not worth the money).

@@SoAnesu I saw a video on RUclips about the canvas breaking even though the bag was quite new and on Purseforum someone complained about the stitching falling apart after a short time. The customer service apparently wasn't very attentive. Who knows, maybe they were just unlucky.

I've been struggling to find a quality leather work tote that fits my 13" laptop, zips and is not too heavy. I purchased Longchamp's Le Foulonne thinking it was perfect, but with the laptop, it doesn't zip close. If Moreau or Moynat someday add a zip to their leather totes, i will jump on it. Do you have any thoughts on the quality of Aspinal's Zipped Regent?
I’m moving away from brands like Aspinal quality is average. Save your money and buy better quality. Please watch French hand bag brands video in the next few weeks.
I’m not recommending anything from Moynat at the moment as they are having quality / production issues at the moment. So out of your two I would go with Colette but a personally would go with Moreau.

For the exorbitant prices these brands charge for these bags, why can’t any of them put external pockets and more features on the totes? No offence intended at all, but I don’t think any of the totes shown here are great in terms of what they offer in function and features. I have the LV Neverfull and it’s definitely a high quality bag, but I wouldn’t use it for travel because it doesn’t have a top zipper which is an absolute security requirement for me for travel. So that limits its use. But for anyone wanting a quality tote with top zipper and external pockets have a look at the discontinued LV Iena and LV Totally, there are good quality ones on the preloved market at reasonable prices. I have the LV Iena in damier ebene print which is low key and fuss-free in terms of all weather use. It has a top zipper and large external zipper pocket for easy access to phone & keys and smaller items. The LV Totally also has a top zipper and two external side pockets. Both these totes come in the three classic LV canvas prints and in 3 sizes. I wish LV would bring these two styles back 😔
I know right seems a no brainer! No offence taken. Totes are individual there is no one size fits all. I like the big cavernous middle and zipped pocket or two and much rather prefer an open tote as I will place valuables or delicates in a small bag which I’ll place in the bigger tote. I would also prefer not to have a zip but others do as per the other comments, it’s what works with your taste, needs and budget. I thought you were aware my channel is under the radar brands so anything LV is not something I would consider or even recommend for so many reasons - inflated hype, hugely aspirational and on and on but thank you for your feedback I know my comment section is lively and your recommendations will be noticed.
I have the moynat OH tote!! it's durable and beautiful. got so many compliments wearing it! I have it in blue, and contemplating getting one in black too
i own 4 of these totes😅 Goyard & Moynat old quattro tote remain my favorite, although i love Faure le page their tote bag bottom is too stiff & bulky in my opinion (i rarely use it)🤷🏻♀️ Delage peaked my interest, it’s most similar to quattro bag☺️ I wish more tote bags had a zipper or some kind of secure top closure😕 I agree on thin leather straps, not a good look..

It's amazing how they can sell this rubbish with a straight face. That Goyard, honestly looks like a reusable shopping bag. I'd pay 10 bucks for that, 20 at the absolute most.

The typically thin straps drive me bonkers as well! If the right design and colour way comes up you may just go for it!

I prefer Goyard's ARTOIS tote to the Saint Louis. The Artois has the top zip closure and the reinforced bottom corners.
Moynat and Moreau seem thicker than others, so I wonder how light they are. As I get older, I can’t carry heavy bags.

Would you recommend Colette or Oh tote for daily use carrying a lap top ?
I’m not recommending anything from Moynat at the moment as they are having quality / production issues at the moment. So out of your two I would go with Colette but a personally would go with Moreau.
Thanks for the feedback , I currently have a Moreau but after less than a year of use , there was a tear which after consultation with them, can’t be fixed , so was rather disappointed

I would say the Oh tote from Moynat but they are all incredibly similar there isn’t much difference in it.

Hi Anesu, do you have any recommendations for totes that look good on petites? I'm 5'1 and I try to avoid oversized bags that overwhelm my frame.

What are your thoughts on the Goyard Anjou and perhaps comparable reversible totes?

For the exorbitant prices these brands charge for these bags, why can’t any of them put external pockets and more features on the totes? No offence intended at all, but I don’t think any of the totes shown here are great in terms of what they offer in function and features. I have the LV Neverfull and it’s definitely a high quality bag, but I wouldn’t use it for travel because it doesn’t have a top zipper which is an absolute security requirement for me for travel. So that limits its use. But for anyone wanting a quality tote with top zipper and external pockets have a look at the discontinued LV Iena and LV Totally, there are good quality ones on the preloved market at reasonable prices. I have the LV Iena in damier ebene print which is low key and fuss-free in terms of all weather use. It has a top zipper and large external zipper pocket for easy access to phone & keys and smaller items. The LV Totally also has a top zipper and two external side pockets. Both these totes come in the three classic LV canvas prints and in 3 sizes. I wish LV would bring these two styles back 😔

No offence taken. Totes are individual there is no one size fits all. I like the big cavernous middle and zipped pocket or two and much rather prefer an open tote as I will place valuables or delicates in a small bag which I’ll place in the bigger tote. I would also prefer not to have a zip but others do as per the other comments, it’s what works with your taste, needs and budget.
I thought you were aware my channel is under the radar brands so anything LV is not something I would consider or even recommend for so many reasons - inflated hype, hugely aspirational and on and on but thank you for your feedback I know my comment section is lively and your recommendations will be noticed.
I have the moynat OH tote!! it's durable and beautiful. got so many compliments wearing it! I have it in blue, and contemplating getting one in black too

i own 4 of these totes😅 Goyard & Moynat old quattro tote remain my favorite, although i love Faure le page their tote bag bottom is too stiff & bulky in my opinion (i rarely use it)🤷🏻♀️

It's amazing how they can sell this rubbish with a straight face. That Goyard, honestly looks like a reusable shopping bag. I'd pay 10 bucks for that, 20 at the absolute most.
And they are at over 100 times that amount! We need to be more demanding as consumers.
