I just got one a few months ago. Mine is 1.7 CDTI, heated seats, Xenon headlights and all of that. It's definitely one of the best looking cars even today, and I really enjoy driving it.
This was the only car I was interested in and I got it in a good deal from a single owner. 1.4T Limited Edition Yes, the tech is dated, but it's a great car to start. You'll learn all things and can drive those fancy cars later and appreciate them as well. I did go for a petrol one, which obviously is more expensive on road tax, but for a new driver driving occasionally, I don't want to get the DPF headache.
I had one as a hire car, whilst my BMW was in being repaired, and want a car? I also kept saying, are you sure this is a vauxhall? What a machine, I'm now the proud owner of one. Goodbye 👋 BMW
I love this review he didn't know that the GTC was it's own thing 😂 most people don't pay attention to it because it's Vauxhall. Love the enthusiasm in this video keep it up
I used to be a brand snob when it comes to cars always preferring audi vw and BMW. But always loved the astra gtc. It looks better than plenty bigger brand cars.
I have a 2015 1.6 diesel ecoflex Astra I would have the GTC but I’m always taking my 7y old granddaughter out on trips and also friends so 4 doors are more practical I have to agree with you on torque and I only have 110 hp my previous 1.4 tdi polo was more torquey but the Astra is a lot smoother with having the extra cylinder also on longer motorway trips gives me more mpg I think having six gears helps I have got us to all the buttons on the dash and behind a gadget man more things to press also like it the ventilator system which works well also the drivers seat has lots of different adjustments to it so you can get Comfortable
Hi Eddie. Totally agree with you. Practicality is always a big one when picking a car, for many, more than looks and feel. The GTC is a great compromise between sport vibes and family hatch. Far from perfect, but very decent indeed.
Unfortunately as with all Vauxhall's, the interior is very basic, even on the VXR, no, heated windscreen, 2016 and still no xenons or LEDs, my 2002 focus st had xenons. Its sadly the reason I left Vauxhall's and went to the far superior Focus ST. VXR has more power but cant put it down. But mostly it's the lack of what, normally comes standard in much older cars.
own the 1.6t gtc atm 197bhp currently on 40k.. Nice solid car and still in my eyes the best looking arse I've ever seen including my wife.. but don't let her know I said that

Being behind its wheel is definitely is a good place to be

They still look great. The design is definitely ageing well. And petrol seems like a wise choice these days, if you drive short distance.
Got the GTC 1.4 SRi. Love it!
Same here.
Do you still own it? If not, what did you move to?
I have special edition 2.0 cdti remapped to 220bhp. Its quick love driving it.
That sounds great. Must be pulling well!
@@DriveVice yep pulls real well. Since remap 3rd gear pulls nearly as quick as second.

Well done. Same model exactly or different specs?

Cheers :)

they made a beautiful car and replaced it with an ugly one. The same happened onve to bmw e46

Just bought a 1.6 turbo last night
Love it. Enjoy !!
The insurance companies class it as a sports car. I love mine .
Still owning it? How's it going?
@DriveVice love it,it drives great, sticks to the road, super fast. I could do 140 and it asks for more. My kind of car.
Great video 🙌🔥
Thank you 🙌 Love the GTC
I felt like I was a 96 year old looking at a smart phone for the first time 😂😂
🤦♂️🤷♂️ and getting worse 😂
Squatting tiger 😂😂 love it!
I have a VXR, it's brilliant but honestly how could you not know that's not a VXR?
I believe it's stock, but with all the power of day one
@DriveVice if it's standard then it wouldn't have 276bhp

True, the Vauxhalls always felt plasticky and slightly cheap. Things got better with the interiors lately, but sportiness is fading.
from South Africa. I want the 1.6 Turbo
Send us a pic if you do
Nice review!!
Thanks!
What kind of wannabe motor journalist doesn't know that gtc is just Vauxhalls 3 door Astra. I have owned the vxr and the gtc is nothing like it

I got the sport gtc, and gonna updgrade to the limited one. looks soooo nice
ahhahah, rekt
No motoring journalists here. Just passionate drivers who care little for car facts.
clearly@@DriveVice
You could straight up see its not VXR... even the interior is different.
It's a good looking beast but diesel hatch's are a bad como.Got to petrol yaa! Got the GTC VXR ;)
Where did you buy that microfone? Its awesome!
Just a Rode Link. Pretty cool piece of kit. They made even smaller and more efficient mics since I've recorded this
Astra J
136 bhp 😂😂🤣what a bit of crap all show and no go buy a focus st petrol , what was vauxhall thinking
Thats the 1.4L turbo… 1.6 has 200hp and the VXR 280hp… ST has nothing on the VXR but the RS is much better but more expensive.
They simply made the "mistake" of wrapping a family car in sports looks. Not actually a mistake, because that seems to sell lots nowadays.
