So i finally got around to getting an ak swash jacket. It is awesome. Can’t wait to ride with it. The entire ak line up is great from my shirt and base layers to my helium quarter zip on up. Helium vest is on the Christmas list. I tried on some Burton bibs and pants too. Thought for sure i was going swash pants. Now I am torn between ak cyclic bibs the goretex reserve bibs or the swash pants. I have never rode with bibs before but when i tried them on at my local burton store it felt so unusual and great not having pressure points at the waist. I imagine that would be lovely when sitting down and leaning forward to buckle into bindings. Any drawbacks to bibs over pants? Do the bib shoulder straps start to get irritating and fell like they ate pulling you down. I ride mostly in the midwest so not warm weather. Every other year or so a weekend trip out west. Would cyclic bids with ak base layer pants be substantial? Any words of wisdom?
So I just got a killer deal on a Hover jacket through Burton for $300. It is the Salmon Buff color so I'm guessing it's an older model. Would you by chance know what the differences are by the years? Is there much differences from say a 2021 model to a 2022 model?
The Swash has better ventilation and more pockets. Definitely some good features to have if you are going to be doing a lot of hiking and/or spring time riding. If not the Cyclic is perfect. WE actually have a "Burton Midlayer" video scheduled to come out on the 30th. It's not an AK specific video but it is the same better/best way to think of layering from Burton to AK as it does with the outerwear
@@thehouse thank you I have a bunch of base layers but no midlayer/fleece with so many options it's hard to choose online and verry little content on item specifics, thanks for all the content the lader videos are always helpfull
That Hover Jacket is amazing. Great quality and the stretch is so nice. Cant go wrong with any of the AK Gear 👍
Couldn't agree more!
Simply the best!
I have Butron ak cyclic gtx jacket, and i would say it is definitely the best hardshell jacket in every aspect.
Well done Burton👍
How is it on cold days?
@@stealth1077 On cold days you have to take extra layer underneath.
Jacket it is highly waterproof and very quality made.
The swash jacket is the most versatile jacket I’ve owned. It’s kept me dry in warmer wet conditions while still being warm on the colder days
One of the best!!!!
Got one and i absolutelly love it !!!
Got one in grey cloud and it’s unreal.
Another great video. Thanks guys. It helped clear up confusion. I am going with swash pants and jacket.
Our pleasure!

What do you recommend for a snowboarding hoodie?
I wear the 686 Knock out hoodie. I have two of them.
There are tons of good options out there. Really any hoody with DWR hoody is good though. www.the-house.com/search?term=DWR

Does the Swash have a removable powered skirt?
Im considering buying an ak jacket but i ski but is it also fine for skiing use
And its The swash im considering
For sure, the outerwear is for having nice technical gear no matter what you are doing in the snow
What is the diff between swash and cyclic pants? Do they have same tech with no insulation?
