Great work! But this is what I hate about photography honestly. Too many people actually think the "finished edits" are the originals and believe their photos are going to look like that without the photographer doing hours of "touch up" post editing.
I totally agree with this thats why some people give up because they don't get the result they wanted. Retouching just helps to improve the image in some aspect.
phtography is an art, your first draft will never look like someone else's final. its the matter of revising and fixing that can help you reach your arts full potential.
I would love to see you edit and keep them the same age, like the first one, you took off so many years it becomes obvious it was edited... I love your work, such good editing skills!!
I hope I did not sound insulting! I meant I would love to see how you edit for things like bags under the eyes because you are skilled and I love your work...
Irene: this model has really beautiful skin *retouches the skin* I really thought they all look better without that glowy skin more alive not that dolly
I draw portraits in pencil and I agree. To create a photo portrait that ends up erasing all that which is not desired is a falsehood of that person. Although , I too ignore blemishing in a portrait, I still maintain the person's image.
Honestly this is a super cool video! Love seeing your edits compared with the photographer's edits as well! Damn, this makes me feel like watching your tutorials all over again on color grading and etc... I hope you'll do more of this!
With frequency separation, make sure you put a layer inbetween the skin and texture layer where you can work on with the clone stamp. It's easier to fix mistakes that way
Great video Irene, you are a super photographer. What is funny these days is that we, the consumers, spends thousands of dollars to buy a high mega pixel camera and lens to get a super sharp photo. Then we realize it's too sharp for the girl's face, then spend more time to smooth it back down in photoshop.
Interesting to see the tutorial and feedback. It seems I may not be alone in the philosophy, "If it is not permanent, I remove it. If it is, I leave it in." We are living in a world today, where impossible beauty standards are an issue. No matter what the first models does, her eye orbit shape and angle will always have that minor crease beneath it. Cloning it out creates an imagine that she will never be able to match naturally in herself. I am not sure how I feel about this...it is the editors discretion to edit an image to the point they are happy, but I can see how doing this does feed into creating an end image that the subject will never really look 100% like. Nice tutorial.
I like the edit of the photographer from the second picture waaaay better. Idk, but the background seems more fitting and realistic and the colours did more to me.
BananeKiwi199 Thank you... That’s my photo.. I do however really really like most all of Irene’s work though... But I appreciate the compliment of my work. :)
I didn't know you were filming this video, so I didn't try to send you any photo:( I'm very inspired by your work and I would love to see a part3! Hope you choose one of my pictures next time hahaha :) ❤️
Thanks Irene for that video. I know it is an old one but very impressed by the editing you did. I'm big fan of your work. Thank you so much for sharing all that knowledge with us.
Great results Irene as always and cool music too. Seeing changes and learning how to do them is one thing though (no shortage of tutorials for that), but developing an awareness and mindset for why changes are being made is another, such as spotting distractions and wonky horizons. With that in mind, a voiceover to the speed edit giving your initial impression and explaining the thought process behind the changes might be popular.
You are amazing! I liked all of your work because is more naturally and the tones and colours are better than the original edited photos. Perfect work! 😍
Insane editing skills! No matter how many videos I watch, I am not skilled enough to learn this, not even a little bit - so I need to do my basic adjustments in Lightroom and be happy with that.
thats weird me too, or at least I already saw a few of the edits but not all of them.. so im confused :D I saw the seceond and last girl but without the photographers edit
This is interesting to see how different people edit the same photo. Hopefully you'll do more of these. * Personally, I like warmer tones, especially on skin. However, I've been experimenting with warmer mid and highlights, and adding a little blue to shadows. That seems to work well on some portraits.
Yes, i guess the notification bell is not working for 90% of the subscribers ... i was growing fast over weeks before december, i was almost at 100K subs ..., and it's been 3 month that everything is going slow ... and i just need 10K more subs to be at 100K. I did this format to post content more often, got a lot of people sending me their pics like you said ... but the views are so low ... i think i going to keep doing my normal videos.
same story, and i am noticing it for a LOT of people, some channels with millions of subscribers. I just got a RUclips manage, so maybe ill get some insight soon on how to work this new algorithm , but its really discouraging.
As a viewer I hate the way RUclips has messed up the subscription algorithms. I subscribe to channels because I want to see their content. If RUclips doesn't let me know about the content, there's no point. And the extra step of requesting notification is redundant. Just show me every channel I subscribe to
Hemantha Sharma DL, just look at the magazines. It is dictated by people buying them which really are women. As a man, I can say, I don't look at things like that, things that jumps out at me are eyes and teeth. Women looks for finer details like skin.
I know its up to you but why don't you download Bridge from Adobe, it's free cos you have Photoshop, it's far more efficient than the file browser. Try using the Adjustment layer pallet, it the one with the symbols instead of using the drop down menus.

like i mentioned in the video, i wanted to go for a very dramatic difference, not something i would do in my regular work.
I hope I did not sound insulting! I meant I would love to see how you edit for things like bags under the eyes because you are skilled and I love your work...
i would do the same editing, but scale it down to about 50% on the opacity.
Irene: this model has really beautiful skin *retouches the skin* I really thought they all look better without that glowy skin more alive not that dolly
You are definitely very skilled but for my personal taste the pictures are totally overedited
Pheoflora her photos are more fairy like and dreamy. I love her style
Her photos remind me of my moms senior photo
@@BreeElisexo her photos are more kinda for suicide bcs she ruins their faces.... No need to that kinda over edit and shity things...
@@anotherhejter please understand 'personal preferences'. No need to tell anybody their preferences 'shitty' or anything. Thanks!

Why are you using frequency separation, when you then work on color layer and even after that bluring skin like hell?
Honestly this is a super cool video! Love seeing your edits compared with the photographer's edits as well! Damn, this makes me feel like watching your tutorials all over again on color grading and etc... I hope you'll do more of this!
I like it better when you explain the entire edit vs speeding through it. it is more educational. Show us your shortcuts. Thanks Awesome edits.
We just hit 300k yay!!! would you guys like a livestream tomorrow with a q&a?
Yes!!!!!! And congrats 😀
Yes yes yes please
Irene Rudnyk Congratulations! Your success is well deserved.
Congrats!
Congrats! would love to see a livestream

Always a joy to watch you work +Irene Rudnyk; both behind the camera and at your editing station.

Nice video!! I wish you would do another video more in depth on gradient maps 🙈
OMG!! I saw one of my photos on your folder (merlinn_photos) !! although you didn't edit mine it made my day!

Awesome as always!! More would be awesome.
I love the dorito dust on her lips in the first photo!
it's my favorite part ;)
You're super talented Irene! Love all your edits, wish I have a fraction of your talent TT

I like when she edited the black girls she didn’t over edit them and I like the warmer tones looks more natural
Your videos are totally addictive...more of these would be great!

Irene, you are my inspiration. I'm getting a Canon Rebel for my birthday, and I'm just so excited. I love your style and I love your videos.
Congrats on your mew camera ;)
Honestly saying....i loved it...Great Work...
Your color changes are amazing, very inspiring. You should look into frequency seperation, would speed up the progres of fixing skin texture a lot.
Love your work.
IMHO, the skin retouching is awful. Skin texture was lost absolutely. Why didn't used frequency separation?
She did on some, but she still went to far.
@@andrew1977uk And actually she overuses it, mainly on the first photo. SF is pretty detructive when you go too far.
Wow, you're extremely talented😍
So talented!!
Hey I like yo tutorial video so far it was very helpful a hole lot. n I was wondering what app did u use to edit your pictures. Please n think u

How does one go about submitting a photo for you to work on?
I hope this format will work better for you than for me, i did 5 episods with the same concept but it got a really small numbers of views.
i feel like lately the views on a lot of channels have been very low, RUclips just loves messing up :)

No offence Irene i like you but is beauty is only perfect skin why cant it be flawed wrinkled ???? i really want to know why!!!

This! Don’t know why people feel like you have to have a perfectly smooth skin which doesn’t reflect reality at all.
It's actually dictated by the companies that sell skincare.
Because it looks better and it make a better looking photography...
Skin retouching does help in situations where the objective is to create a softer look.
The Asian lady was the best photo of the lot.
anyone know the tutorial link on how to make that "frequency separation" ?

Les Fisher I love using bridge also. I don't use LR due to the fact of Bridge, then camera raw and into Photoshop.
wow! interesitng style
Would have been good to explain some of the editing tools you used.
What editing program do you use?
Aditya thank you
Love your work!
How can I know when you will be receiving pictures to edit? I follow you on Instagram and here.
Thanks!
What is the pad you use to edit?
This has probably been answered before but curious to what monitor you edit on? Thanks
