Her talent is undeniable. It's rare to see a woman control the stage and performance the way she does. It's like she's playing every instrument, singing lead, singing back-up, and giving stage direction all at the same time. This is why her true fans will be there ready to receive anything she offers no matter how long she's gone, or no matter what is going on in her personal life. She's a beautiful person.
Sick of people bitching that if she deviates from the Misunderstanding or the Tokyo concert. I love to her my artists mix and blend. I can play the CD anytime in my house.
She’s doesn’t need to be directing from the stage or playing every instrument. It’s inappropriate, insulting to top tier musicians- and even ridiculous. It’s part of of how she’s torpedoed her own career, by being overbearing and ego maniacally controlling. People don’t want to work w her.
I’m a fan but she’s not James Brown, and she’s just pretending to do what he actually did anyway.

I love how organic this performance was!! You can tell most of this was improvised by the way she was directing them throughout the entire song... i love it!!
This is what's known as live impromptu performance. You can tell when she told the musicians not to come in yet, when she had the girls sing "Care, Share, Cry" as well as when she brought the musicians back in. This is how it's done. She is on her way back, but you cannot expect her to have that same voice she did when she debut, that was years ago. Every artist voice matures, sometimes it gets better, sometimes it gets damaged from years of singing (sometimes abuse, sometimes inactivity). Her voice is still rich and beautiful. Give her the time to re-perfect her instrument!
yes but i think she is using bad technique now. in the fugees era and and in sister act etc her voice seem placed more in the mask.
now she sounds like the sound is only coming straight out of her mouth.

I had the pleasure of briefly meeting Ms Hill in London recently. as I expected, she was very lovely and had a wonderful aura. it was a joy to look into her eyes for a moment :) her music has meant more to me than any artist. she puts a voice to the soul of women. Her command and direction as well as her arrangements, ridiculous voice and also one of the best rappers ever. she really is the whole thing. Authentic musical genius, I couldn't believe my luck to meet her.

I'm not sure why people are saying things about her voice...I've been doing music for the last 25 years and I'm listening through studio headphones and I hear no glitches...for someone who hasn't performed regularly in many years she sounds great...so if any of you can show me the spot where she flubbed a spot or sounds weak point it out...anyone who knows sounds she know she sounds tights...
She stifles making it unprofessional for her expectations of energy to render. The singing should have been smooth and the blows rounder than intensifier's smothered (by the void of what, indeed, years without singing like she used to can't receive).

She's such an amazing artist it is hard for me, one of her original fans, not to blame the fact she abandoned her career. I know she gives a lot of performances, but it's not like if she had kept creating new music constantly. Her Unplugged Album is by far one of my favorite of all genres and times. I'm so sorry she took that path. The world would have been a better place with her music in.

I seen her last night at the tribute to Bob Marley @ the apollo, she was filled with grace and the presence of a leader. I am still lost for words, she is my musical inspiration..very honored to have spoke with her and share what she has done for me as an entertainer. Love you Ms. Hill
