The following are not my original thoughts (EconProf's) on Tacko Fall: Tacko's no longer raw at all. He explored going into the draft 2 years ago after taking a UCF (Univ. of Central Florida) team all the way to the NIT (National Invitstional Tournament). When he worked out with several NBA teams in 2017 (he didn't hire an agent, and went back to school), they told him what he needed to develop for the NBA -- and he did: stamina (he was playing 34 minutes in big games!), strength (if you saw the UCF v. Duke 2d round match, it was Zion who bounced off when Tacko blocked his shot), balance, lateral movement, a full range of post moves including a reliable hook, great pick and roll, floor vision, footwork, quicker decision making (including a dunk so fast that teams can't play hack-a-Shaq), getting steals, and a sweet passing game. UCF fans, including me, have seen him make deep shots, dribble drive, and in one game even started the break. They say he's slow. This is bullshit. He's agile, and he has the mobility and reflexes to stifle most opposing offenses. If you've watched the UCF team play, you'd see that during his last two years, Tacko has moved out near the top of the key to stop or alter any shot inside the arc. That allows his teammates to swarm the 3-point line and take away open 3s and fight through screens against Warriors-style opponents (and with little need to crash the boards, guards can release downcourt on breaks). Now Tacko will not be hamstrung by NBA zone and lane rules. He's a quick learner and perfectionist who seldom loses his cool (thankfully because he's perhaps the strongest guy in the game). Yet he's a charismatic, emotional player and interviewee (he speaks 4 languages and an A student). If he makes, Boston fans would really go for his style of play, and he'd be a showcase draw on the road and for global ratings. Celtics fans are probably glad they grabbed him first. Tacko will change the game! This is a prediction I've heard from his coach of 3 years, Johnny Dawkins, once an NBA star himself. Right now, NBA teams can easily find a open man for a 3, enabling teams to win. But, defenders can't guard the entire 3 pt arc without leaving their teams open for easy drives to the basket. But Tacko would be there! He's long and quick enough to guard everything inside the arc and grab rebounds without violating the anti-zone rule. This would allow his teammates to go for steals and stop or contest all open 3s. In addition, guards no longer need to crash the boards for rebounds or defend under the basket, allowing them to streak downcourt for easy 2s or 3s and dunks while Tacko's outlet pass leaves him back to stop fastbreaks. Like I've said, Tacko's improved stamina and strength allowed him to play over 30 minutes against several of the tougher opponents in college. He'd be one of the strongest in the NBA and greatly benefit from the more physical play allowed by refs and rules against double and triple teaming.
Very very happy Boston signed him to a 10 day. Agree on the zone technique when he comes in for 10 to 16 minutes a game. Really happy an hope we sign him to a real 3 year minimum and coach him up :)
He should have been picked up in the draft. Now after seeing his impact in summer ball some team is waiting to scoop him up should the Celtics miss the opportunity to sign him to a real contract.
They didn,'t get me in the nba at ghe 1stplace which they taught me how to be a dominant at summer league. NOW THE THE NBA SHOULD CHASE ME . IM TACKO FALL, AND ILL MAKE ALL THE GIANTS FALL INTO MY HAND .
@@bjw3364 They will fix that ? Who is the other boy who shoots free throws underhanded ?? that's definitely a steal by the Celtics
Yup!
