Hello bro, firstly, it’s doable but has a lot of regulations surrounding the same.
It’s not forbidden.
Secondly, for 500k I don’t think you can buy a house anymore in any capital cities unless it’s needs reno.
May be a unit or small townhouse or duplex perhaps?
That visa for investors needs significantly high investment. From memory it’s in the millions 5+.

Hello sis. Thank you so much for your compliment. Australia is the number one destination for people from the UK. In fact, majority of Aussies are Brits, Scots, Irish and Welsh descendants. They move down under just for the weather, pay and lifestyle.
I am like you as I grew up in Chennai. Cant stand the cold weather.
Qld is a great place as it’s more or less like Chennai weather.
Winter is only 2-3 months max and that too no where as cold as in the 🇬🇧 (most places).
Henceforth, I chose to settle here as well despite studying in Melbourne.

Usually, the banks will charge you a lot if you do it that way. I have used Australian credit cards in India and many other countries and usually they have slapped me with quite high transaction fees plus low rates.
I haven’t used gpay anyway however it should work I think. It’s not that popular here like how it is in India.
Here Apple Pay for iOS and Google wallet are common for pos transactions and PayPal for online transactions.
For instant transfer between friends and family we use payid.
