I’m still baffled at how high priced items are when there are SO Many of the same items out there! Imagine how much more money people would make by selling everything lower and the. Allowing some that aren’t rich to enjoy the hobby which intern would cause people to buy more
Supply and demand friends, there are many new collectors with deep pockets and there are only so many ss daggers, govt official daggers ect. These items are truly works of art and part of one of the biggest events in history so originals will be priceless someday
@@jakefash3042 I don’t know how long you’ve been collecting but have you heard of the word Frankenstein ? I have been collecting mainly daggers from the 1970’s onwards and I know an original when I see one and I know a dagger that is a Frankenstein which is a dagger made from other daggers, that is no longer an original antique and you will not be able to sell this on to someone who knows what they’re looking for? To collect anything third Reich now you need to have at least 20 years of handling the real thing to really know what you’re buying. I don’t know how long you’ve been collecting or if you even collect but the word original no longer exists in the collecting market, unless you are buying from a private collector. Bob Coleman.
Sander, you always seem to find great, unique items that dealers in the US can't get. I enjoy your website and always look (and sometimes buy) from here in Florida. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
I believe you are correct about the tan helmets being Czech. A bunch of these turned up at the same time a few years ago. I have a couple of these with one having a name scratched under the brim that appears to be Eastern European and not German.
Thank you for this video Sander; it was very informative. This Houten show is really growing! I always enjoy (and learn) when you show your buys. I love that M40 tunic, so pristine. Thanks!
So pristine after 80 years, I wonder if it’s not real I wonder if it might have been built with original insignia on and stamped up like thousands of others?😂😂😂
I just ordered the R.S. Panzer assault badge from your website this morning. I will definitely be ordering more stuff from you in the future. Thank you!
OMG these handschar division fez. Considering the length of service from this division and the size of it, The collectors market are awash with them. The fakes are in abundance , I wouldn't touch them. I started collecting back in the 70's and most SS collectors looked at these items with scepticism
I knew the red original ones. Just look for: L. S. G. GIROMAGNY 1940 Stamp! Giromagny is a commune in the far Eastern side of France, not far from the German Border. After the fall of France in 1940, it was part of the German occupied zone in Northern France, not part of Vichy France. After capture, Germany wasted no time pressing industries in the area into service. And the red stiching on the sweatband.
Partly true - yes, although there was a large stash of Handschar fezzes and collar tabs which were found in Dachau. These models are not even that rare and can be found in great condition on many militaria sites. I believe these 3 belong to the Dachau category. Cheers from Bosnia.
@@christianblake3997 the ones in the video look authentic to me. They are not rare. Hundreds or even thousands were found by American GIs in the camp clothing depots. I also own one and I can assure you that the fakes are easy to spot. That is if you know what you need to look for
@@TellySavalas-or5hf No it did not. There were two fez variants, the red burgundy and the feldgrau. The 3rd type which you might be thinking of is the Albanian Skanderbeg variant.
Nobody should be watching this channel if they haven’t done any research! Your 1st thousand pounds spent in this hobby should be on books and nothing more! The man this channel belongs to is a dealer and some of his stock is extremely dubious to say the least, in my humble opinion? (Notice I said in my opinion) also if you are going to collect third Reich, pick an area (please stay away from anything SS) don’t just go for anything, specialise! That way you can become an expert in one area, and less likely to be hoodwinked! Remember the war is 80 years old next September and the Germans didn’t make that many uniforms and certainly didn’t keep them in that good condition. Use your common sense.
Thank you for doing these videos. I have been collecting for over 60 years, but I always learn something new watching them.
Thanks!!
Great video as always.
Top video. I love the militaria fair overview shots.
excellent video
31:00 I think the word you were looking for is 'tilted' as the decal tilts around 45 degrees.
yes! thanks
