How pretty! I like the tip of the packing tape for the ease of doing smaller portions at a time. I have used contact paper before and it does pretty well too, and laminating machine works, but not everyone has one of those the the packing tape is a great alternative! Thank you for sharing this technique. The cards are lovely!!!
@@merriedreyer4371 The laminate sheet doesn't make it look dull, but it isn't shiny like the process Linda has shown us here. I think I will like to try Linda's process to see what the shiny result will look like. The contact paper is more of a hassle, and I really don't like the look of the finished product as well. Depending on if you use cheaper quality contact type paper or the regular Contact Paper makes a difference. The off brand seems to not work as well, and it is not as nice looking. I Hope this helps.
I binged your RUclips post most of the evening. Being brand new to card making, I find that I enjoy watching for now. You have some really beautiful cards and I look forward to learning. I've been purchasing some tools, dies, and stamps, but I haven't cut a card yet. I think I'm going to start today. Its November 2020, so thank you for sharing your skills and tips. I'll go to one of your more current post to purchase with up to date offers.
Welcome, Madonna! Feel free to call me with questions, I love helping. This is a very rewarding hobby and you are joining a very generous community. I look forward to hearing about your progress. Thanks for watching.
I love this! I am watching this late. My cards are done and sent, but I still enjoy this a lot. I may find a way to do it with your Feels like Frost bday card. What do you think?
Hi Linda Thank you for this tip!!!! I needed to make some die cut gears but I didn't have any glossy silver...so I taped over some gray paper!!!! So great!!!!
Beautiful cards! A very different technique, it gives a wonderful shine. I will try this on the Merry Christmas dies and see how it cuts out. Thank you for sharing.
Like this card,Linda! Making the balls shine with packing tape is a new way of looking to make a pretty Christmas card! From Spruce Grove, Alberta, Canada.
I like this idea as I don't have many dies but have circle punches, packing tape and the sprig punch I could substitute. The metallic gold leaves give it a classy touch and one could use a red bow ribbon or bow die for a pop of red if one doesn't have the berry die or possibly use a half circle punch to make a couple of red berries. It would also be a convenient way to use up some smaller scraps of leftover holiday DSP. The glossy look of the bulbs give it a wow factor. One could make it with smaller circles on notecards for holiday thank you's or a holiday scrapbook page or even Christmas gift tags with a bit of white glitter on the leaves for some extra sparkle. This one is going in my idea journal.
WOWEE, Linda! This is a very interesting technique and I really like the SHINY ornaments! The DSP creates lovely baubles and with the greenery pieces n’ ribbon it all looks so festive! PERFECT HOLIDAY GREETINGS! TFS n’ HAPPY CREATIN’! With the new Mini Holiday catalog launch, I KNOW there’ll be many more lovely creations from Ink n’ Ingenuity! Enjoy your day, Linda! :-))))
Linda I have heard of people using the packing tape . I just never tried it. Not sure if it would die cut very well or even at all. Thanks for sharing this video with us! 👏👏💕

Such a clever idea....
Great technique
Thank you very much I love them.
I do this with 1/2 of a laminate sheet and laminate only one side of the paper, no seams....easy to die cut too
Brilliant!
What size circle punch did you use? thank you! :D
Hi Jody I used a 2 inch punch.
I've bought 3 or 4 inch rolls of pckg tape from the UPS store. They gave a lot of packing dupplied
Brilliant - as always!
Thanks MaryBeth!
Thank you so much for this tip Linda, its brilliant ♥️🎄♥️
Great idea ! Thanks :)
Ooooh, I love those , great JOB , ♥️♥️
How are u trying to find u
This is great
Hi, from Denver.
Hi rkt.smokey3 I am always interested in hearing from someone here in Denver.
how about using a laminator or a Xyron?
I think the laminator will work, not sure about the Xyron. I think that one just ads glue to the bottom to make it a sticker, yes?
You can 'laminate" with a Xyron, It is not only for adding glue to the bottom...it can laminate on both sides of the paper if you wish.
Love!!!!!
Thinking of you 💐
On second card we hardly see the greenery
You can add more original different greenery if it appeals to you. Thanks for watching.
I love this trick, I'm gonna give it a try........ thank you
Beautiful!💜
Thank you! 😊
