Leave food out for them. Don't throw stones at them. Tell all kids not to. Any of the ones you feed will stop the attacking ones.
I started doing that where I live. If a magpie dive bombs me or my kids the magpies I feed attack them. Then land beside us and stand guard. When they know you, they will teach their chicks to protect you too. Good birds.

sounds like a good idea, the fact is 100s of people walk, run and cycle through these paths and I don't think it's going to be possible for everyone to feed it and make friends.

@@jacokpack01 I can't solve that problem. The magpies around where I live, only follow me so far. They follow me around my farm, but no further. We can get close, they land on my arm when I have bread. But I can't put my hand over them, we can scratch them. I really don't like them on me, bird lice.

@@jacokpack01 actually tell the Council to put out bird feeder that the largest bird that can fit in are Indian minors. They attack magpies. If their is a food source around, they will nest close to it. Than have certain people who use the path often to fill it.
