My friend married her college sweetheart at 18 and her husband was 22 summer after our freshman year. Was a bridesmaid, a whiteness signature etc. I knew how they felt and supported her completey. Scared me, but I knew they were happy. They got their own apt and kept going to college after, got some cats and a dog. Now, years later, they just had their third baby girl in January. They have three kids all girls. Still love each other and are together. She's a stay at home mom that enjoys writing and he works and does carpentry on the side. They're honestly best friends and good partners. I went to the hospital for every birth and been a big part of their kids lives. They're both some of my closest friends and she's like a sister to me, doesn't always work out but I think it depends on the maturity level and type of relationship the couple has way more so than age.

I married when I was 18, it was the worst mistake of my life, I left him 3 months after we married, I tried telling his mother beforehand that I didn't think things would work out but she said it was cold feet and pushed me into going thru with it, I was a people pleaser back then and had a hard time standing up for myself. The trauma I suffered from the physical and emotional abuse I endured during that relationship left me seeking therapy after I finally stood up for myself and left. I told myself that was 18 damn years old and I wasn't going to spend another second of my life being beaten and miserable, I was too young to start out my life that way and I felt pressured and coerced into following thru the marriage to begin with. I said I would never marry again however, I married my current husband when I was 30, we have raised 4 children together and even though we have bumps in the road from time to time, everyone does, he is the other half of my soul. I am not saying young marriages never work out, some do, but I do believe kids should wait and get a little life experience before taking the plunge. I can't imagine my life without my husband.

I married when I was 18, it was the worst mistake of my life, I left him 3 months after we married, I tried telling his mother beforehand that I didn't think things would work out but she said it was cold feet and pushed me into going thru with it, I was a people pleaser back then and had a hard time standing up for myself. The trauma I suffered from the physical and emotional abuse I endured during that relationship left me seeking therapy after I finally stood up for myself and left. I told myself that was 18 damn years old and I wasn't going to spend another second of my life being beaten and miserable, I was too young to start out my life that way and I felt pressured and coerced into following thru the marriage to begin with. I said I would never marry again however, I married my current husband when I was 30, we have raised 4 children together and even though we have bumps in the road from time to time, everyone does, he is the other half of my soul. I am not saying young marriages never work out, some do, but I do believe kids should wait and get a little life experience before taking the plunge. I can't imagine my life without my husband.

Yeahhhhh, I'm pretty sure they could have done a better wedding and reception on their budget. It's just my opinion and I'm entitled to it just like everyone else is entitled to theirs. This wedding was extremely tacky. If that's what you call being a "hater", then so be it. I stick to what I wrote.
