aespa's concept is meta verse so they all have an avatar referred to as "ae", the members are Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning; their avatars are called ae-Karina, ae-Giselle, ae-Winter, and ae-Ningning. they have a huge lore going on and it's heavily incorporated in their music, they even release a web episodes called SMCU episodes to showcase the storyline and further explain the story of their MV and music.
so on the first season of their lore the story follows their adventure in defeating the villain "Black Mamba" it's also the title of their debut song, the black mamba hacked their aes which caused them to be disconnected to the real world, in aespa's lore people and their avatars coexist together in the real world so when black mamba hacked it no one could connect with them but aespa was able to with the help of Naevis (she's an AI character that sm also plan to debut?!?) it's a long story so basically to defeat the black mamba they had to travel to Kwangya which is a word you'll hear a lot in their music, it's place that has no rule or form if you're a fan of mcu it's similar to the quantum realm. So season 1 is done and they were able to defeat the black mamba and now the girls are back in the real world which is why Spicy is very different to their previous release. Their music, fashion, and concept prior to this is very futuristic, y2k vibes, video games-esque and mostly electronic music and in kwangya they have special abilities (Karina is Rocket Puncher, Giselle is Xenoglossy (Language genius), Winter is Armamenter (weapon's specialist), Ningning is E.D Hacker) but now they're back in the real world bein regular girls and stuff so this comeback is a bit different if you check out their old songs. Also they're known for their 4 genre in 1 song type of vibe, their previous title track is similar to NCT Dream's ISTG with the genre switch up at the bridge so their music is a bit of a hit or miss to some people.
I would suggest to check out Black Mamba, and illusion the choreo is nice and Salty and Sweet but the dance practice is just a preview T.T they still haven't release the full ver. for their other release and regarding your comment about their individuality, karina talked abt it in an interview that before their song Savage they always focused on bein synchronised now they want to focus on showing their individual style, I like it bt stan twt heavily criticised them for being messy.
if you want to check them out I would suggest do it by order to get the feel of the group~ it's Black Mamba > Next Level > Savage > Life's Too Short > Girls if you wanna include the web episodes then Black Mamba > SMCU ep.1 > Next Level > SMCU Ep. 2 > Savage > Life's Too Short > SMCU Ep 3 > Girls > Welcome to My World. for choreo and dance practice I would suggest you check out illusion dance practice, black mamba dance practice, next level camera work (ruclips.net/video/VZVSy8H-uzY/видео.html&pp=ygUKbmV4dCBsZXZlbA%3D%3D) savage camerawork guide, and girls camerawork guide video. they had terrible outfits for the studio choom performance which I think restrict their performance so I would suggest checking these out if you want or have the time.
I apologise for the long ass comment, I'm in no way requesting for you to react to all of these, I just want to give you a little FYI on aespa and that if you're ever interested in checking them out I would suggest these that's all~😁

I think it’s cool when you watch a video when you already know the song like with what you did with Darl+ing

I’m not extremely knowledgeable about aespa. They are in the same label as NCT so they have a lot of SMTOWN events together with them and they are NCT Dream aged so they get shipped and compared to a lot- so I looked them up.
I believe their concept is like video game avatars. So they do have a sense of individuality they let each girl have but at the same time with the “avatar” meta verse concept they are limited to looking flawless physically (not necessarily movement wise). It also leads to more electronic music. They have a song called Hold On Tight that samples the Tetris theme song and I think no other group could have pulled it off.
As far as the visuals of this video, it is Studio Choom’s signature. The white void + lighting to show off formations and visuals *chefs kiss*
I think Full Focus means they didn’t frame focus on each member when they had a solo… from what I could tell on the video

ahhhh I was wondering a little into the video if any of these girls were in the Mickey Mouse Club with some of the Dream boys 🤔

@@SarahVillacarillo unfortunately no, the previous sm female trainees that was with nct dream on mickey mouse club left sm before aespa debuted, cos the debut kept getting pushed back bcos the scale of their concept was big. Ningning was the only female smrookie to debut but she was introduced in 2016 when nct already debut but she's closed with nct's china line, chenle, renjun, and i think kun too.
