One thing I've always done when I play Mercy. When it comes to players like Hanzo, I stay in position behind them and behind cover, where enemies can't see my healing/boosting stream, or as little of it as possible. With Reaper you have to be careful not to give away where he is teleporting to or flanking from. Basically leave him alone until he moves into close combat and has already announced his position to the enemy. This is even more sensitive of an issue with Mercy supporting Sombra and Tracer. With Sombra, it's much the same as with Reaper, I leave her alone until she's presented herself, you'll only serve to expose her. With Tracer, just leave her the hell alone unless she's having a near-death experience or asks you for help. Even after she has announced herself, you'll get her killed by pointing the enemy directly to her as she's actively trying to confuse them of her whereabouts.

Everytime Sym “dived" alone he knew damn well he's not gonna survive, still he does that to keep Hanzo and Mercy occupied for a short moment so their team have space to make plays.

trust your team bro, i know that dying is terrifying because you have to rush back to point. if you think your team is gonna fail it will increase the chances of that happening, have faith until the very end. a negative attitude will fuck the whole entire match

Consider those games as if the matchmaker is literally saying "you now have to play for both DPS in your team because you're stronger than each one of the DPS in the enemy team individually". That is more of a compliment, as there is no one else to match against you

Btw, I remember a time when you showcased clever strategies that exploited the advantage of a Mercy pocket. Did something change, gameplay-wise? Like, did players get better at hard diving the Mercy beam target, post-Sojourn?
His playstyle changed since then ... before he was playing a more straight damage into their faces kind of a playstyle, in which case the Mercy boost was useful. Now he's more of a stalking hitman, trying to only shoot at the enemy when they're unaware of him (so they don't evade/dodge the arrows actively) in which case a Mercy pocket is just like a giant neon sign giving away his position/intent.
I had a match yesterday where doom was throwing and said in chat “you ever just start ow and chill” then continues to laugh and do nothing while me and the team were still carrying on this map. We lost obv 😅
