Doris Roberts Dies in her sleep of natural causes

Doris Roberts the actress who portrayed the saucy and helicopter mother of Raymond on Everybody Loves Raymond passed away in her sleep sometime last night according a family spokes person. Roberts just participated in a panel on gender bias in Hollywood sponsered by the actors union, SAG-AFTRA. Roberts was born in Saint Louis, Missouri and made her way to Broadway where she worked for nearly 20 years before appearing in film and on television. Roberts also appeared in the holiday comedy, "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" and also on the television show, Remington Steele. Everybody Loves Raymond Producer, Phil Rosenthal took to twitter to eulogize Roberts. Rosenthal wrote, "We loved our mom, the great #DorisRoberts. A wonderful, funny, indelible actress and friend."
