    When refitting the plugs, turn them anticlockwise first. You'll hear a click then clockwise to thread them down and nip up. This helps to avoid possible cross threading which is easy to do and expensive to correct in an aluminum head.. Good practice with any 'bolt' tbh.

    Pour le couple de serrage des bougies préconisé par Citroën c'est 25Nm au premier montage et 20Nm si on remonte les bougies.

    That's some great info, but what about reused plugs? For example, I inspected the spark plugs on a car I bought and they looked really good, but when I put them back in there is no play because the crash gaskets are already crushed, but now I don't know if they too tight or not tight enough and I'm worried it might damage the engine. Any idea?

      A comment above in french from Eric Guichard said Citroën recommends : 25Nm new, 20Nm used

    It doesn’t fit the 1KR-FE on Sirion, which is the 1.0L, 3cylinder, 68bhp version.
    You can check it yourself by typing it in any car parts seller.

    Ja dopiero po wyciągnięciu cewek zapłonowych cofnąłem czynność wymiany świec. Wcześniej mechanik mi je wymienił ( DENSO IKH16TT IRIDIUM) bo przez Boscha po prostu mi silnik jakby bąbelkował. Po Roku myślę, o ponownej wymianie świec, mam już 110tys mil eh.
    Pytanie: na jaką siłę ustawić klucz dynamometryczny? :)

    You forgot to check the gap of the spark plugs. Plus it is a good idea to smear a bit of oil on thread.

    • @fixanddrive
      @fixanddrive  7 лет назад +3

      Brand new spark plugs should have a correct gap, shouldn't they?

    • @awaisnottz
      @awaisnottz 7 лет назад +2

      Fix and Drive Plugs normally come at a standard gap. It always pays to double check. In my experience most of them needed minor adjustment

      not in my experience: on mazdas or volvos that had "a few" spark plugs changed, they'll come loose of their own without oil!

      Thanks, because even though my 107 is doing right now 33k miles, I feel the starting ignition a little bit slow, feels like it's not right away like it used to be, specially in the cold morning, so I figured it is time to change em !

    You need a special "spark plug socket" which has a rubber insert which grips the spark plug to pull it out after you have unscrewed it....

    Hi. I have a question about air filter.
    There is a seal on the intake part?
    In this picture you can see the part(under the third spark plug) it looks like a seal but may be it's just 11 years old dirty.
    I hope you can help me. Thank you very much.

    K20HR-U11 is a niquel spark and is not factory fited. The correct spark is SK16HR11 and its a iridium spark. You did all wrong, before doing this videos please read the manual, its says also "Use only iridium-tipped sparks plugs. Do not adjust the spark plug gap". Using the incorrect sparks may damage the engine...
