      its just a cheap simulation. u can predict weather on larger scale but much harder in smaler scale. u know its raining in an area of 100square km but may not be raining in every single square meter.

    If the sun went supernova, we would'nt know about it for 8 minutes.

    • @incognitoburrito6020
      @incognitoburrito6020 7 лет назад +22

      The stuff being flung from a supernova still has to go the speed of light or less. As does the light. And gravity. So yeah, eight minutes.

    • @JensenPlaysMC
      @JensenPlaysMC 7 лет назад +10

      It would take 8 minutes, regardless of how fast it was traveling ( As it doesnt exceed the speed of light)

    • @adviltasteslikecandy6579
      @adviltasteslikecandy6579 7 лет назад +2

      +Jensen 92 million miles away from the sun. 186000 miles per seconds, speed of light. Reguardless of how fast it was traveling? The speed of light has been constant since the speed the beginning of time. Do you really know ANYTHING ABOUT SPACE?

    • @JensenPlaysMC
      @JensenPlaysMC 7 лет назад +9

      What in the hell are you even on about? a super nova, regardless of how fast it was travelling would take 8 minutes for us to notice it... What is so hard about that to understand?

    • @JeremyEllwood
      @JeremyEllwood 7 лет назад +8

      Jensen: Some people just can't understand the concept of the fact that you can't notice something until it's light hits you. These are the people who failed rudimentary physics but pretend to know everything about the universe.

      PizzaPizza2 our galaxy, the Milky Way, will collide with the andromeda galaxy a long time from now. Essentially the two black holes in the centre of each galaxy will merge but most solar systems will be relatively unaffected due to the sheer size of galaxy's. Only the centre of the galaxies will be majorly affected due to the black hole being larger and have a bigger gravitational pull

    actually, hypernovas are the biggest explosions in the universe. the sun will never go supernova

    • @nuclearfusion5421
      @nuclearfusion5421 7 лет назад +5

      Lethal Chicken yeah! the sun just implodes into some big red giant and they're outer layers will fade away and if our sun was to go supernova it will be as big as the orbit of the asteroid belt and it will have destroyed the outer planets in the solar system that will have supported life in 5 billion years IF THE SUN WAS REGULAR AS IF RIGHT NOWVJEEZ KNOW YOUR SCIENCE SHENINANIGAMES

    • @dishwasherdetergent6144
      @dishwasherdetergent6144 7 лет назад +1

      Lethal Chicken It's possible that the sun will go supernova at the end of it's life, considering it growing, though, it MAY go supernova.
      It's not exact on whether the sun will reach the desired size for supernova due.

    • @LethalChicken77
      @LethalChicken77 7 лет назад

      Dishwasher Detergent the size doesn't matter as far as supernovas go. It's the mass. The sun will become bigger, but it will have a lot less mass than it does now.

    • @dishwasherdetergent6144

    You don't have to worry about our sun ever going supernova. It's not massive enough. However, in a few BILLION years it will become a red giant and engulf the inner planets. Mars will probably be safe, but Earth will in all probability be gone. Eventually, the sun will collapse into a white dwarf and then a dead sun.

    Some things here are hard to understand for me....For example....The suns light photons take 8 minutes to reach Earth at the speed of light, that I understand. So the sun is 865,000 miles in diameter and explodes outward in all directions, how fast does the shockwave travel if light travels at 186,000 miles a second?? Since the diameter of the sun itself would take a light beam several seconds to travel across the diameter, wouldnt the shockwave of the supernova be traveling faster than light since the sun's size alone would mean the shockwave is exceeding the speed of light as its moving outward???

    • @incognitoburrito6020
      @incognitoburrito6020 7 лет назад

      Jesse Fry its called a supernova still maybe you know the term hypernova
      Supernova-for yellow or small stars
      Hypernova-for stars that are blue and big
      Btw our stars life is only 5,000,000,000 years left
      Most of the blue main sequence star only has millions of years so we are lucky to be in a star just going ham n cheese 5billion yrs in the future i mean before that even happens we will see shit ton amount if hypernovas i think betelgeuse is the first on were gonna see so pretty much
      If reincarnation is real
      You would first be reincarnated a thousand times and maybe like 10 trillion yrs in the future the universe will end
      Forever...
      Probbably

      If you hugged an exploding tsar bomba, you would still get less radiation than experiencing a supernova during night time.

    To answer your in video question:
    The temperatures of the planets would depend on the brighness of the expanding super nova shell.
    The brightness of the shell would depend on only two things, its temperature (large), and its surface area. As that shell expands rapidly (close to the speed of light) it gets brighter. That is how a supernova actually works.
    So, as it gets brighter the planets would have a higher and higher temperature and that seems to be what you were seeing in the video.

    THE PLANET WOULD GET PAST ITS MELTING POINT AND WELL MELT SO MUCH THAT IT DISSAPEARS OR GETS SHRUNK

    This Universe Sandbox guy can only destroy things, crash one planet into another and things like that.

    The force of the Supernova would destroy everything within a day.

    Just wanted to point out, there would be no shock wave of notable impact. A shock wave require matter, and while space does have some matter it just isn't dense enough to make any notable difference. I would suspect the simulation doesn't even take it into account. What happened in there was it was an initial burst of solar energy that, upon hitting the planet, turned into thermal energy. Similarities can be drawn with a shock wave, but it has different types of energy. Shock waves are kinetic, while what you saw was energy in the form of light being released rapidly from the supernova of the Sun, then turning into thermal energy upon hitting a planet.

    you should do one where jupiter nudges mercury out of its orbit and hits the earth... that would be pretty awesome! it's the size of the moon but has the mass of mars, thanks to all of its iron in its core, so it should make one hell of an explosion :D

    The sun wouldn't go Supernove; it's not big enough.
    The sun just goes Nova.

    my answer to your question at 7:10 is that the sun expels superheated radiation at a very fast pace causing nearby planets to almost immediately incinerate and outer solar system will slowly inherit their fate after the gas present in their atmosphere becomes hot enough to reach boiling point and be outgassed into space (the bright tails). Again this is my personal opinion on what has happened.
