We have freddo frogs in Australia too! I always assumed they sold caramello koalas in other countries too because I thought of them as a pair, but only today I have discovered they don't.
Koalas are from Australia so it would make sense that that would be something sold independently in Aus didn't know Freddo frogs were international tho
As a New Zealander, I have plenty of experience with Vegemite. And I’m here to tell you that is not how you’re supposed to eat it lol. We spread the thinnest layer possible onto toast, optionally mixed with butter and eat it that way. Never ever eat it on a spoon or by itself. The amount you ate is probably 3x more than we’d put on toast hahah! It’s also good mixing a tiny bit with butter and cooked onto roasted potatoes :)

I've never tried vegemite but I believe it is in a similiar scenario as salted black liquorice, aka a food that nearly (as it is partially based on genetics) everyone hates upon first try due to your taste buds picking up on all the "bad" tastes (especially bitterness which your body recognizes as a sign of poison and therefore wants you to immediately stop eating it) or mouthfeel or associations with the food (I guess for vegemite it would be all the videos of people telling you how terrible it tastes). The reason people end up eating black liquorice is that they simply ate it regularly and it became an acquired taste, meaning their taste buds practically ignore it's bitterness and focus more on the actual taste that was shrouded behind the strong bitterness. That's why I assume vegemite is in a similiar scenario, as it is something you'd have to eat daily for maybe a week or two before actually being able to enjoy it. Or maybe you're genetically inclined to hate vegemite's taste, which is also totally possible. Funnily enough things like calamari, beer or even garlic are also considered acquired tastes, and a lot of spices and herbs fall under that category too.

Well, I'm italian, and as proud as I am of one of the most famous countryes for food in the world I think you could try something italian 👍 (altho I can't think about any specific italian snacks)
It’s worth noting, Dido, most Cheetos do taste different. Don’t rule them all out because of the bad bacon experience. I quite like the spicy ones myself, both standard and puffed spicy Cheetos…but can’t imagine I’d enjoy the bacon ones. The plain ones are alright but being a Brit, nothing will EVER top the almighty Wotsits.
