- Here we go with another video Christmas Blow Molds Vintage Holiday Lights. Whether it's a santa and reindeer set, snowman, candle or nativity. From the 1960s or Walmart last Friday blow molds are so classic and timeless. I am new to collecting them as of this year and think for my first time I have picked up some pretty neat ones. There are literally hundreds of different ones and not just Christmas. They even made ones for Easter and Halloween. The Halloween ones are really great too. All of the ones I purchased were from thrift stores, yard sales, Facebook Marketplace and estate finds. It always gives me such joy when I come across one of these blow molds. So if you enjoy lighted plastic holiday decorations you are definitely in the right place 😉

BLOW MOLDS ARE MY FAVORITE CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS. I WANNA GET MY WIFE THE SANTA ON HIS SLEIGH WOTH ALL THE REINDEER AND RUDOLPH BUT THAT SETS EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. AS POPULAR AS BLOWMOLDS ARE I CANT BEIEVE NOBODY REMAKES ALL OF THE OLD ONES.
Yes that is a wonderful set. My husband wants that one too. Okay who do we need to talk to to make this happen? Haha!

Thats the Joseph i have and Mary and baby Jesus i have in the yard. I used pallets to build a manger and put greenery around it. We went to the Peddlers malls today and i got a candle blowmold. I love how detailed the one you have is. Santa is adorable but i think my favorite is that tall Angel!
That is so neat you built a whole nativity scene. The angel is beautiful, I guess they also made her in blue too.

That Santa's face is all bushy vintage perfection I also love the gloves are red and not black as the black accents would take away from the retro cuteness, the all red color scheme makes him more pastelly...
Him and the yellow flame candle are my faves and the flower bouquet Harrison came with is so cute! I bet he's all proud you are displaying it and now he will have a tangible reminder of his creation with this video! :)

Harrison did a great job. See if the flame to the candle turns a little bit so the metal piece slip out of a space like a keyhole. For tree sap .. could try some warm soapy water- let it sit a bit to let it dissolve.

I love blow molds and collect them. I have some Easter, Halloween and Christmas ones. My front yard is festively decorated with blow mold goodness.

I have Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus in blow molds that used to belong to my parents: I haven’t used them because they need painted, but you are making me think I should leave them as is. Your Joseph is in better shape than mine. Your Angels would go with my set! I really love the big bulbs! Santa’s face is adorable. I love Harrison’s creation. He is quite talented.
You should display them as is, I think it adds charm and you know they are older that way. Even if you don't put them outside find a corner in your house where you could enjoy them this week.

I got 2 new Snowman blow molds this year one: from home depot and 1 off a Facebook marketplace ad. The one off a Facebook ad I can only find an image of from home depot in Canada! They match perfectly there 3' tall but they have different Clothing. I also bought the giant bulb lights this year like you have. I got them new from home depot, they were 7.98 each (they also have them in white.) I ordered a 14" Penguin table top blow mold from target this year for only $10 (they were sold out of the snow man) but now I don't want to go pick it up because of covid-19. 😷

Harrison did a great job on the boot I love blow molds Halloween and Christmas! Have you tried restoring any of the old ones that have faded I wonder if theirs a special paint you use .Love the videos
I have seen people restore them the only problem is the light doesn't shine through the same. I think they look good both ways but if you wanted to paint and then aim a flood light toward it that might work.

General Form was here in Virginia located on Princess Anne Road in Norfolk Virginia and closed down years ago. Most of the Vintage blow holds have their light opening in the back.

Poor guy I have one too I love blow molds and just a week ago I got two more blow molds a 42" vintage snowman and a large Halloween blinky blow mold.

A mr clean classic sponge will do the job for the angel I’ve used them so many times

Harrison did a good job on the arrangement he made. Do you think he would share some tips with me for my floral arrangement lol. Everything you got is adorable, my mother is a Christmas collector I guess you could say, she as a lot of Christmas decor and we tell her no more but she always comes home with something, I'm the same with Halloween decore lol.

that big candle i think we had two of them.. don't remember how i took of the flame part off.. but i got it off and put in a normal bulb in it if i remember right... the light sits in the flame... i think those are just rivets... need to drill them out and replace them with new ones.. just becarefull.. the rivets is very close to the edge of the candle and can crack it... the plastic is very thin...
Okay, I will be careful. Maybe wait until after Christmas just in case haha!
My neighbor gave me their 12 piece Nativity blow mold set for free bc it was faded and broken in some places. Do you think repainting blow molds with Krylon Fusion or any paint depreciates their value? Should they just be left in their roughed up state?
I'm so glad they gave them to you! My thought is if you are going to keep them and enjoy them do whatever improvements you'd like. If they are already broken in some places you might as well get whatever life they have in them left. There are blow mold collectors that would never retouch them and then others that bring them back to life. If you are going to keep them I say fix them up. If you plan on selling them then keep them original and let the buyer decide. As far as I paint goes I think you're right. I have not redone a blow mold yet but heard the light never shines through as well once you do repaint. You can always put a colored bulb in instead. I know people do that with the faded red santas or orange pumpkins. Hope that helps and thank you so much for watching!

Hello from waterville Maine, I love blowmolds as well. In fact I'm looking for a couple (one being rare) The first one is the same look of your snowman but a bigger one and the other one is a big santa with him checking his list and with hand up over his head please anyone on here who knows or even getting rid of these specific ornaments look me up on facebook
You probably have already searched Facebook Marketplace but check your local Craigslist, offerup.com and Mercari. Hopefully one of those sites has your blow molds. I will keep an eye out too 😊
