@RedwoodGeorge can time travel. His comment is from 21 hours ago.
Totally! Also: I like how my wife apparently isn't the only female of the species that turned into a Karen on the first day of her pregnancy :)
In Australia, the city of Melbourne was founded by a dude called John Batman. Originally the town was going to be called ‘Batmania’. And the inhabitants Batmanians. Those of us who live there are gutted that we are Melbournians. That is so lame in comparison.
Damn. You could have all been "the night".

Holy missed opportunities!
There actually is an area in Turkey named Batman.
Julie's sketches are what would happen if your random dorky thoughts came to life.
And to think before the internet we would never have been blessed with her random thought sharing 😊
Akin to shower thoughts.
That's the joke
As “A-person-who-lives-in-Bangkok-and-is-now-studying-in-Canada” I can confirm we’re actually called *REDACTED*

If you aren’t banking dozens of reels of pregnant-Julie footage for future “explaining having a baby to my past self” videos, you’re not the comedian I know and adore.
This! ...and let's not leave out that dream sequence when she's deep into baby-caused sleep deprivation and has the dream that it didn't happen and there was no pandemic
Uhhhhh!!!😮😮😮 We need that!!!
Oh yeah... the wildfires... uh... in Australia.
@@rcb3921 Wait, aren't the wildfires in Canada this year. Did we double book? Oh god.
What do you mean "banking"? Julie can time travel, that's the secret to her success.
Doing the crossword in pen, you’re brave.
My first thought. .
She was Googling the answers before writing them down 😅
The level of passion in white t-shirt Julie's character was off the chart!
Yeah I laughed when she almost started to cry. 😂
0:35 My fiancee is full blooded Thai and even she thought this was absolutely hilarious. Way to go, Julie.
Although she did follow up by telling me it should be obvious she can take a joke considering how long she has been with me. Not sure what to do with that information.
I'm suddenly getting a little bit worried about what Julie plans to name her child!
We all have incongruous arguments in our heads, but only Julie turns them into comedy gold!
With two brains in one body Julie is even MORE brilliant
@@greaterthanme876 see, when a bee bumps into a bird in the club, pollen falls off onto the bird. A little later a stork arrives with pickles and a second brain, which accidentally gets hoovered up with the pickles and thus two brains in one body
"..but I DO think they're done with white people making Bangkok jokes." Classic!
🙄 "...ugh, white people. Amirite?"👏
Do you mean like the guy who goes through the turnstile sideways?
I wanna know how many pints of booze someone had to have drank to come up with the Welsh town name of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.
Whoever did it is a legend.
Woah.
"Let's put two more Ls in there."
"Go go go!!!"
Then there is the New Zealand place name of TaumatawhakatangihangakoauauoTamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu
None at all. They were Welsh. Welsh people think like that when sober.
For real?!
Ryan Goerge should make a video where he chooses the names to call people from different places.
😂
"We'll call them Canacockers, I decided"
"Great, now we'll move on to The Netherlands"
Her stuff is just so well conceived (no pun intended) and then brilliantly realised.
If I were Netflix et al, I’d be getting out my cheque book and putting herself and fellow Canadian Kris Collins together at their own asking price.
This kind of clever - comedy is so rare.
What you did, with the pregnant/non-pregnant cuts: BRILLIANT!
What video did you guys watch?
When I was living abroad, everyone called us the "Canadia-dians" because it was more fun to say, and I solidly approve of that.
Didn't know Julie had the superpower to read through paper. Clearly the crossword was on the other side of the paper. Mind blown.
@@topherthe11th23 But at 2:12 we can see the paper is folded so that the crossword is on the color comics side.
It might have the American-style crossword on the side Julie is looking at, and the British-style cryptic crossword on the side facing the camera. The crossword on the camera's side only intersects every second row & column, which is a common feature of cryptic crosswords.
Y'all should be detectives ... or auditors! 😂
No, you can see at 0:35 that the crossword clues are on the opposite side from the comics (seen in the next shot of that Julie at 0:42 for example.) The one shown at 2:12 (below the comics on the same side of the paper) doesn't look like a normal crossword, maybe like one of those weird British ones?
Rubik's Cube inventor:
It's clearly Rubik Goldberg.
Well, now we need Ryan George to make the video of the guys meeting to name things and this is the topic.
One of your best, the writing in this sketch takes everything you do well to a higher level.
😂 i love this!!
For your information, "Bangkok" is how English speaker pronounce the word "บางกอก". บางกอก is a nickname of Thailand Capital city. Since you may already know the official name is the longest city name on earth "KrungThep blah blah...." .
บาง mean an area full of something.
กอก refers to มะกอก which is olive tree.
Bangkok means an area full of olive trees. That's it.
If you want to know how to read บางกอก with a correct Thai pronunciation, just copy the word to Google translate.
Olive Gardeners?
@Smoke3723 Olivian sounds like a princess. I like it.😆
@@RaistlanCE Lol Yeah!! We are gardeners!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
The true name of the city was one of the first things I memorized when learning Thai. What a mouth full. Second only to its main airport.... It's a weird contrast between the naming of official things like cities and bridges in Royal language and then the pure simplicity of everyday Thai language.
@@papayapok Olive Gardeners is available and you went with Olivian?! You're as bad as the guy who didn't pick bangkok-ers.
“Can-A-Cocker” 😂 Lmao! That’s very creative and funny Julie, well done!

Canadarians have a great sense of humor! Great work Julie.
True story; another word in Swedish for Canadians is Canadicker. For real.
This skit captures a profound truth about how politeness squashes greatness.
Congratulations!!! So great to see you looking forward to a little one, I hope that it goes well! Plus, you'll get a ton of great material!
The mood swings are hitting hard I see!
Hilarious as always!
I really hope that Ryan George will make a video about that discussion :-D
And on a side note. When my girl friend told someone in Germany that she is from Canada, they replied with "Oh, so you are from Canadien". A lot of country names in German and with ien, e.g. Italien, Spanien, Australien, Slowakien
I love how creative your getting with your pregnancy & alternate characters! ❤
Always go with the funnier option. That's a good motto to follow in life. Great skit! xoxo
I’m thinking that’s what many people who voted for Trump decided.
Still enjoy your sketches. Have missed them these last several months.
This from someone who calls herself a Canadian instead of a Canadan as if the name of the country was Canadia not Canada. 🤣

I see on the wiki page for Bangkok, literally the most recent edit is to add Bangkokers to Bangkokians in the demonyms. I am at once both surprised and not at all surprised. 😂
"Starts with an A, four letters." Why did my mind go where it went? Julie, you are a bad influence....and I love you. 😂
Alan? Or a different anagram of those letters?

On a more positive note: the Dutch word for someone from the German city Hamburg is hamburger
She’s great. Funny and just so Adorable.
Had to share this one with Bangkok Pat - he's a Bangkok-based RUclipsr who tackles the history and the culture of the city.
Everything I know about Bangkok I learned from The Hangover Part II. And from visiting in 1999.
The quick cut right after the "bangcocker" to exclude her laughing... 😆
Obviously hilarious! But, the J cuts are masterful.
I loved the line "That is a weak man." Lol!

I've definitely argued worse things with this level of enthusiasm and the "Are you done?" is always so biting.
About 20 years ago when I was sitting and daydreaming in highschool French class, I suddenly blurted out loud during lecture, "Why aren't people from Holland called Hollandiddles? It really seems like an unfortunate missed opportunity because Hollandiddle sounds so funny and cool." Everyone started laughing. I got in trouble for being obnoxious (as I often did - yay, ADHD) and had to write a letter of apology to the teacher in French for being disruptive.
You don't have ADHD.
That teacher clearly had no sense of humor
@@SeraphsWitness Actually, I do. I was diagnosed when I was 14, right after my little brother, who was 6 at the time, was also diagnosed. We got it from our dad. I'm 36 now and still struggle with symptoms constantly, but at least now I have a therapist. I also have OCD.

I’m from Nottingham. The village the city grew from was originally called Snottingham and the locals were called the snotts. Also, saw the comment about Melbourne/batman earlier. In Nottinghamshire we have a village called Gotham (pronounced Goat Ham because olde). Batman’s Gotham is so callous because a writer who knew of the original village couldn’t imagine a more fitting name for a crime ridden city of villains and scumbags. #Famous

Well done from Australicockers.
To reach Climax, Michigan from the interstate, you need to take Exit 69 off I-94. They have a unified school district with neighboring Scotts, so their high school teams are the Climax-Scotts Panthers, which is, as Sean Lock once observed, "a challenging wank."
