I absolutely love the beginning of this routine. And also the middle and the end. On artistic level it is one of the best ever. The choreography is truly great! I think she really was not just competing against her competitors but some weird conspiracy aimed at leaving her off the podium. She deserved better

WHO CARES WHO BEAT WHO!?!?!? I love Anna and Evgenia but Anna is my favorite of the two. I don't care if she makes any mistakes. She's perfect. Her expressions are gorgeous. She's absolutely breathtaking. I love her so much and I don't care what " place " she comes in because to me she was always a winner.
I have always enjoyed watching rhythmic gymnastics. It's interesting how they Olympics save rhythmic gymnastics to the near end. I suppose save the best for last? The same goes for synchronized swimming: The Olympics saves that event until the near end also. I like watching both sports! :-)
She reminds me of Maria Petrova. So much more stylized, with an emphasis on dance and expression rather than just trick after trick. She uses simplier moves and does them well rather then just rushing through everything.
@buntonboy : Inverted split jumps...the legs are hyper extended past the paralell floor point and the toes actually begin to point to the ceiling..The buttocks are lower than the leg.

@taylorswift091196 I think you've already been corrected, but being short is really only important in artistic gymnastics because it allows the gymnast greater ease in tumbling (it lowers the center of gravity and allows for lighter and higher tumbling, as well as adding less stress on the body). It's actually better to be taller in rhythmic gymnastics because it gives a longer, leaner line.
this must be the qualitfication round because she made mistakes in the all around final (which sucks, i wish she could have done this). Anna has the prettiest style and lines, I would trade all the "cool tricks" in the world to see a gymnast perform of this caliber! rock on anna!

Wow gymnasts are usually not this tall. The perfect height is at most 165 cm because when you get taller than that it's very hard to do the good moves. Especially true for artistic gym. So I conclude: Anna's a real true talent to be this tall and still awesome. Splendor in its most magnificent.

You dont see many rhythmic gymnasts under about 5ft 4 inches, which would be considered VERY tall for artistic gym. In rhythmic gymnastics, the emphasis falls on balletic movement and flexibility, also strength of course, where height makes no difference at all; in fact it ADDS to the aesthetics;)
one question: do you must start with evry apparatus? if not, are all apparatus starting in the same competition? so par exampla the first place has a hoop and the second place a ball?
Ok just because you don't race people or throw spears(thats the javelin btw) doesn't mean it isn't a sport. Rhythmic gymnastics is alot of balence, flexibility, and coordination. Besides if there wasn't gymnastics in the Olympics the grace of the Olympics would be gone.
