Bijoy and Sona’s conversation at the end reminded me of the many times the two of them would discuss sometimes disagree but then come to an understanding before the leap. Bijoy is a million times better than Ishwari; he has seen his daughter suffer immensely as a single mother who was probably on the verge of a mental breakdown and doesn’t want to see her fall weak to the selfishness of the Dixits again. He is not selfish, he just truly wants his daughter to be safe even though he shows this through anger and frustration. That ending conversation beautifully portrayed his fear as a father. Bijoy cannot he compared to Ishwari who is selfish and emotionally blackmails her son in the pretense of wanting his happiness when she just wants her own. And ofc Sona, the most inspiring female lead ever!! She beautifully put across why she can’t hate Dev’s family even though they put her through a lot. No, someone said here, and I agree, she is just trying to get Dev warmed up to the idea of marriage. She started with Sonakshi, knowing full well that won't work, since Sonakshi just told her she has no personal desire to stay in that house. She knew Sonakshi wouldn't agree even if Dev did. Each time I watch an episode, I feel worse for Dev. His whole life he has either been working and when he gets a chance at peace and happiness, his mother intrudes and emotionally blackmails him. Ishwari knew that Dev and Sona probably weren’t ready to get married yet and hence blackmailed him into marrying someone just to satisfy her own insecurity of getting Sona permanently out of Dev’s life. People arguing that Ishwari and Bijoy are the same... What??? Ishwari started hating Sonakshi when their relationship came to light the first time. Bijoy was happy that his daughter found someone. He's a naturally protective father, not a possessive one. Dev hurt Sonakshi many times, so he has very good reason to try and keep his daughter and granddaughter safe from him. Yet he still calmed down to Dev just a bit, because Dev gave him reason to. He's a stubborn tempered dude, that's his personality. Though Ishwari literally just doesn't want her son to love someone else. She's somehow jealous of anyone that could become her daughter-in-law. She made him *choose* between her and Sonakshi. She doesn't do it to protect Dev, though it might seem so in her mind. She's so down a rabbit hole that she lies to herself that what she's doing is right and justified. She causes things that make her son unhappy, justifying it by saying it's protection when there's no reason for it to be so. Bijoy is protecting his daughter from someone who hurt her.
