I have ROKU ONN TV . Been using for 1 year . It has started to really go slow . I got the Apple box . And it’s amazing . Love it . The movies in 1080p look so good . 4K movies just not comments . Amazing
I disabled the click pad swipe feature on the remote 2nd Gen. It was annoying. I still haven't decided if the Apple TV is better than my Sony TV native interface and remote. It's pretty good.
I just bought it and I’m EXTREMELY AMAZED! It’s super fast with a very cozy environment. It plays the movies so fast and I feel like it makes them even more 4K than my tv itself! It’s nicely weird! From now on I’ll use my smart TV as a monitor by using the Apple TV as an output source! I definitely recommend it!!!
Can you confirm that the movies run high frame rates? Possible 60fps or higher? I am debating on getting one myself and I am unsure. My big this is that I want to stream movies like Avatar or Tron: Legacy with very high frame rates with a standard 4K TV.
I have an older LG SDR, But with this Apple TV I was able to set it in Depp Color SDR 4:4:4 . Apple TV plays all HDR content on the TV and it looks great. No need to replace TV with HDR until a few more generations of OLED.
When you use the ethernet port, as I do, the performance actually increases dramatically. I have the Spectrum TV app, which was basically unusable over wifi, works like a charm over ethernet.
This is good to know! Thank you!! Thinking about getting an ATV, have Spectrum and planning to stick with them when the wife and I move into our house, and I was eyeing ethernet model for better connection and Thread support for our already-started smart home. This just further solidifies that option! 👍🏼👌🏼
This was a device I didn't really think I needed until I tried one, brings my 4 tv alive, it is worth it just for the cinema style sound through AirPods.

I've got the LG C1 55". We use the native apps of the TV like amazon prime, Netflix, youtube and showmax (south africa). I feel the whole experience is not as smooth and there is some delays when browsing between different movies and series etc. I'm i the only one experiencing this? It feels like the TV needs more oomph if that make sense. What i want to know is, if i switch to the apple TV media box, will this change the explained experience by a great margin? Is the quality of dolby vision and HDR10+ better than on the TV itself? Also have to mention, i use wifi to stream. How is the wifi streaming on the Apple TV? Does it have wifi 6?
It depends on what subscription plan you’re paying for. For example, I use Crunchyroll and the premium subscription, which is $9.99 a month allows me to sign into it on four different devices. So check your subscription plan and see how many devices you can sign into with it. If you’re able to do multiple, you can sign into your Netflix without needing to make another account.
Ive got the C1. As far as i know, hdr10+ is requires a license of which lg does not provide with their products. LG has Dolby Vision licensed. Samsung has hdr10+ licensed. To have a TV box with both these option would really be great.
Hdr10+ is essentially the same thing as Dolby vision. It’s safe to assume there are differences but it shouldn’t be too much. Hdr10 is lower quality then the + and dolby vision. What you get depends on what tv brand you buy. If it’s a high end samsung tv you’ll get hdr10+. For lg you’ll get Dolby vision. Apple TV 2022 supports both so you should be good for whatever tv you have. Lg will probably never support hdr10+ but it has Dolby vision, so it probably won’t need to.
I've had the non-4k one for many years on my dumb 1080p TV so when I bought a new 4K tv, I assumed the built in google tv would be acceptable. It wasn't. I bought the Apple tv 2022 model within a week. Also due to the fact that this new tv is a QD-OLED, it is extremely dim when not watching anything so it is sometimes hard to see the text, e.g. it is dim you are browsing netflix, but it's normal when you start a film. I guess to protect from burn-in. Apple tv on the other hand can be in dolby vision the entire time. Super bright. I even had to bring the brightness down. Also the tv remote is actually very good, but no swiping, which is a problem when you have to type something like an e-mail address or password. But on the apple TV I had to enter 1 passport. It remembered everything from the last apple tv. I say - comfort above all. :D
When we were deciding whether or not to cut cable, I bought a Roku Streaming Stick+ for our kitchen/hearth room TV. We subscribed to RUclips TV's trial and kept Spectrum cable to try out the Roku and RUclips TV. We were satisfied with RUclips TV and the Roku so I bought another Roku for the bedroom. We ultimately chose to cut Spectrum cable TV and go with RUclips TV. Finally, for our largest TV in our great room I chose the Apple TV. I am an Apple enthusiast and knew I wanted to get the best for our biggest TV. I must say the Apple TV is superior to the Roku. I wish Apple made TVs. Do yourself a favor and check out Apple products. If you just want stuff to work seamlessly, it's worth the price.
5:53 @credited to the A15 chip wow! Dolby Vision over HDR 10+ because it’s better and it has been on Apple TV for years they buckled and supported HDR10= to sell more
Great tv box and I bought one to replace my Nvidia shield. However, I had to return it due to lack of hdmi audio pass thru to my soundbar. Everything is processed to PCM. I understand why it doesn’t and why it most likely won’t ever do it, but it’s still very frustrating.
This is exactly the same reason why I bought an Apple TV and returned it the day after my purchase. I have a 7.2.4 home theater configuration and no audio passthrough is a deal breaker for me.
Can you please tell me if Nvidia does a Dolby Atmos pass through?. I have a apple tv but if Nvidia can pass through dolby i will replace my apple tv...
@@heavenlyxtacy yes it can. Nvidia shield TV is the gift that keeps on giving. Mine is about 5 or 6 years old and I can’t find anything better (except the newer version with Dolby vision support).
If m1 so great , why apple didn’t put that in it? It world be better with 256gb for future games that large. Bethesda make their games for iPad and iPhone, their must limitation stop those game running apple tv
Can this be used with monitor instead of TV? Are we going to loose any features?

You watch live tv with Plex app
Everyone overlooks that with solid state hard drives, larger capacity also means faster performance.
