Scene 3 possibly implies to me that if you play with low honor, you make it so that Arthur's whole history was like that and it's why Mary says "I can see you haven't changed much" if you reject helping. But is more accepting if you deny her with high honor because she probably feels Arthur is a good man who's just been too hurt by their past.
I get annoyed by how blindly fans hate Mary even when she didn't even force Arthur to help her and don't take it to heart, understanding that Arthur is hurt by their past. And she was the one who asked Arthur to run away with her. Mary is highly underrated among fandom
@@Flash36593 Same. The way a lot of the community united to hate on of this character that loves and cares for their favorite character is the most baffling thing to me about this fandom. For a game that's every element from characters, world, missions, feature, and clothing is beloved and staunchly defended by its fans, it's odd how they decided to hate on this one character by making BS reasons for why they're a terrible person. Not once have I heard someone offer a logical, in-game reason for why they hate her. I guess they just do either because she gets in the way of their outlaw fantasy by being a person who they feel rejected the badass outlaw protagonist or because she gets in the way of their Sadie Adler fan-fictions.
Well I don’t really hate her but every time Arthur expected to have a real dating with her she came out with something he has to help her out with. He’s gotta be a man and set boundaries , that makes him even look more attractive to her

I’m nearing the end of a low to high honour playthrough. Starting arthur out as a selfish and violent bastard that slowly becomes a better man after his diagnosis. Slowly redeeming himself by helping people and so far it’s been my favourite way to play the game. I really wanna try a playthrough from high to low honour to get a different depiction of the story. I guess you are messing up with all of that your permutation and combinations . The fact is Arthur started with low honor and end as low honour , that the way how Arthur is
Yeah, I try to play in-character a lot of the time so even if it's something that would be reasonably high honor, I avoid it. That's why I'm planning on doing a playthrough that's just me trying different stuff.

Scene 3, I would say she was more disappointed and heartbroken than anything else. Whatever they're personal history was, I can see helping out her little brother, his being a green kid and all. But helping her with her father, considering her father was a jackass to Arthur, although giver Arthur's lifestyle it can be understandable as to why he disapproved of their being together, it felt to me at that point Mary was using Arthur for her own benefit, maybe not with any malicious intent but still using him nonetheless, which is why in my playthrough, or at least the 2nd one, I had Arthur decline. That said, Rockstar had said that initially Arthur was supposed to have had a 2nd girlfriend before the idea was eventually squashed, but honestly I wish they'd kept it in, because frankly I got tired of Arthur pining over Mary and not moving on with his life.
