Another beautiful video lovely country side. Wish i could do that but my fitness would not let me. My best wishes to you from the Philippines ❤️👍😉😀😁🏁🛺🏍️🐑🇵🇭🏴⭐
Another brilliant video sandy. Just to the left of the tumulus mount in the valley is an old pump house that used to supply the water to the farm at foxhill, at 11pm one night the water turned off so my dad went up across the hill to check or the downs as we call it, he said while he was checking in the pump house he saw two eyes looking at him though the vents in the block work, buy that time he jumped in the old willy's jeep drove straight across the wheat crop back home. The next day my grandfather said to my father who the bloody hell has drove across the bloody wheat field 😂 . Dad said he remembered when the M4 got built though the land and before that it was like being in the middle of dartmoor. Wish I could go back in time and see how it was then. But I have all the old stories I've been told and the photo's. Good health.
Thats a great story. I remember many years ago I was out on my own lamping rabbits and just had a feeling I was being watched, I spun around and shone my lamp and behind me just 20 yards away was a herd of Roe deer, they had followed me across the field in the pitch black, the lamp didn't scare them and they continued to follow me until I left that field. Local author Richard Jefferies write in one of his books that from his garden at Coate, he could look across to Ladder hill and somewhere in between was a favourite place of his where a crystal clear spring broke the surface. It was very tranquil and he would go there to drink the pure water and just to rest. Nowadays midway between Coate and Ladder hill is the busy M4!!!
@WiltshireMan It is surprising what you come across at night in the countryside. Wouldn't it be nice to go back in time and see how that area between coate and Ladder Hill would have been before the M4 swindon would of been so small at that time and not so spread out like it is now.
@@WiltshireManSandy as u are a skilled knife maker I'm just curious have you ever seen the camping knives that were on sale in lidl about a year ago for only 7.99 . Unbelievable well made knife with a wooden handle. Rocktrail is the brand name. I'm impressed with it every time I use or look at it. Cheers.
👋🏻👋🏻👍👍👍. Never tire of watching your videos Sandy another beautiful ride through the Wiltshire countryside. Your fitness levels never cease to blow me away Sandy! And cycling one handed too! Another great country ride! .. ps, if you fancy a little something to watch in your next camp, I made my first RUclips watercolour video of a wild camp. (My friend made the music too)
That drone is doing a really good job, Sandy. Combined with the action cams' footage and some skilful editing, it results in a really well put together vlog.
I really like these bike trips you do with the added history bits. I often Google the places to find out a bit more about them. And I usually read the comments to see what people add, such as the bull by the water pump and the herd of roe deer. Wonderful stuff. Cheers, Chris in Cornwall.
Bloomin’eck Sandy! Your fitness levels are an inspiration. I think we’re about the same age so watching your vids shows me what’s possible for me. The autumnal colours are absolutely beautiful 🍁🍂 Thanks for taking us with you 👌🏼🍻
Yes, you can do it, never say you can't. I've had quite a few battles to overcome with aching joints etc but the cycling is doing me the power of good:)

Another magnificent video - passed through Lambourn many times on the way to Stamford in the Vale but sadly in the car, not on two wheels, and have had many a cup of tea beneath that radio ariel! We walked the greyhounds along the ridgeway which it straddles. You must be fit as a butcher's dog riding that old beast; fortunately still relatively dry. Thanks, Sandy.
Steady Sandy . Steady !!! Lovely ride , lovely colours. Love the nissen hut . Im in a FB group called the courregated iron appreciation group, but please don't tell everyone. Between me and you!😂
Great video & footage Sandy, visited the Hangman stone myself after seeing your earlier video, that part of the Ridgeway & the lambourn downs are just a great unspoilt area for the bike with so many byways & tracks.
A lovely ride out Sandy🚵♂Plenty of calories burnt and a great reset for the mind! Out on your heavy Bootzipper reminds me of a saying 'winter miles = summer smiles' Wonderful😎😉
Watching this video again on Thanksgiving morning here in the US. Love the colors God has given us to enjoy. Thanks for your channel Sandy as it/you have encouraged me to get on my bike more this year!
Absolutely beautiful ride. Love seeing the leaves this time of year. I was out this morning enjoying the scenery on a ride here in the foothills of north Georgia. Cloudy and mist most of the day, peaceful and relaxing. Winter not far off. All the best, Travis.
You captured Autumn in all its glory in your adventure out, our recent grey skies made the ochre colours so much more vibrant. Crunching leaves under the wheel, so much better than a soggy wet mess we sometimes have at this time..
Nice to see you again on your bike again looks nice and dry bit cloudy and a little bit of history and the main thing long you enjoyed your self stay safe and stay healthy one life enjoy blessed be
More amazed that you can take these lanes from town to town on your bike. Where I live we just have wide open spaces for the most part with gravel roads that are set up in square miles. I could take them from town to town, but there’s a little beauty, just empty cornfields this time of year. And perhaps a crazy driver that throws gravel at you when he goes by in his 4x4 .😊 but we make the best of it
We are very lucky in the UK with our extensive ancient bridleway & byway network. From my house just North-east of London there are probably 50-60 miles of these unmade routes in a ten mile radius from my home linked together by quiet country lanes where you might see the occasional car. Plus we have a couple of old rail lines that have now become linear country parks open to the public for walking and riding. None of these routes are overused and it is possible to ride for an hour traffic-free an not see a soul.
Made for great viewing bro , I must be psychic I could see you having an issue with that path edge then you did. Glad you came out of it ok. Safe travels. Ken

Hi Sandy, the other reason to go to places is, before they ruin them with millions of more houses and whatnot!😢 See these places now, before they disappear behind council estates, or whatever.

Not really, it's a risk that I am prepared to take. I do have a mouth mount and a chest mount harness that I sometimes use
