For us in Europe: Wash hygiene stuff like towels, underwear and linens on 60 degrees Celsius and the rest of the clothes on 30 or 40 degrees Celsius. The bacteria only goes away in 60+ :)
hi Hue, I just want you to know that after binge watching your videos. This was what happened. I cleared out my wardrobe and gave to charity everything that I have not worn in years. I cleaned my kitchen and threw everything more than a week old out of my fridge. I got a proper haircut for the first time in years. My house is spotless now. Your videos are truly life changing. Looking forward to more content. Thanks hue.
@@valentinklauss1732bc it is their choice... We dont know if they were speaking of leftovers (which have a time frame of with in a week)... Which might be the case. As for my raccoon ass, my mom and partner have to remind me of what leftovers i need to eat BC I have eaten pass date stuff and got sick few times. The issue??? Sometimes I will forget to eat it or fidge gets cluttered up with convenient misplacement on days that are bad in my head. Hope this helps. Idk if ur still on btw seeing ur comment was 3 ish years back. I also hope I didnt offend or come off rude.
This is appreciated. Not only because a lot of people are brought up not doing laundry... but a lot guys aren’t taught to take care of themselves and their belongings. Thank you for changing that
You should not only separate your laundry by color, but also by texture. Said simply, you should wash say jeans with delicate fabrics because it can damage the delicate fabrics. Also separate by temperature: towels and underpants should be washed at hot/warm temperatures (60°C is fine), synthetic fabrics usually at 30°C (cold). If in doubt, look at the tag inside the clothes. Clothing with any sort of print on it should be washed, dried and ironed inside out. Doing this with other clothes is not bad,if they are dirty it might not clean them as well though. When ironing, use the coldest temperature that will get the wrinkles out.
Goodness! Here I was thinking I atleast knew how to wash my clothes! How many separate cycles do you do and how do you recommend drying clothes, esp in winter?
May i add to the drying part...24 hrs will not dry coz in door and depending on the fabrics. Perhaps after 2 days. I put them in dryer for 5-10 mins med to low heat to get rid of dust and moist. I do try to avoid full dryer time...meaning from wet to 100% dry. Coz heat does most damage to fabrics everytime we dry clothes...like a toaster...your white t-shirt goes brown etc. Using bleach also damages fabrics so use it as less as possible and rinse more. Thanks for sharing your tips.
All jokes aside there’s a few hundred 20 something year olds who watched this and their life was completely changed. “Mom, I got this....I saw a video”
Put detergent in first! It's more effective that way. I ALWAYS button up my shirts. Started to hate how all the sleeves get tangled up so I started buttoning them up and turning them inside out so the sleeves are inside. Never lost a button this way, and it prolonged H&M pieces life. Seems to work for me. Pretty sure quality shirts like white dress shirts will never lose a button though.
Thanks for letting us know about what causes yellow pit stains, I've always turned away from white shirts for this reason but I'm excited to try this when I find a new deodorant
This is the first video of yours that I've watched. I've watched it three times since last night. I absolutely love this, the aesthetic, your voice, the information, I love it all! I wish I could like this video over and over again. Consider me subscribed! 💖
I've been looking for a video like this for forever!! I have been looking everywhere to find how to wash and take care of my clothes so that it lasts longer, too much of my clothes gets wasted because of washing and I hate it, I hate being so wasteful. I strive to get your wardrobe and your level of organization. I just found your channel today and it's already one of my favorites on RUclips man!
I enjoy your videos. If viewers tell you to speak louder ignore it. Your voice is mellow and lovely to listen to. Nothing worse than vloggers shout speaking, rolling their eyeballs and moving theirs around constantly when talking. I like your voice - lovely and relaxing to listen to.
I have had great success eliminating pit stains from antiperspirant as well as other set stains by putting hydrogen peroxide on the stained area and then Baking soda. I add a little hydrogen peroxide on the baking soda to form a wet paste. I rub mildly and let sit on the fabric for at least 30 minutes but longer is better. Even overnight. Wash with detergent as usual and the stain will either be gone or faded. Repeat method if stain remains after first washing. For naturally dyed fabric, however, the hydrogen peroxide will cause the dye to discolor. Only use on all white fabric or synthetic colored fabrics. This method has saved me on restoring many clothing items. I gave up using Antiperspirant to address the original cause of the stains.
Future big channel ! Mark my words now when you have 300 subs, if you keep posting that sort of content, you'll have 10k in a year ! Great work, nice editing, very relaxing to watch (and thumb up for the sub 🤗) ! Cheers man !
I thought everyone washes their clothes this way 😂😂. Apparently not. I started in middle school separating by color and fabrics when my dad shrunk my clothes once. Air dry everything except underwear. I have four drying racks. I also use several types of detergents depending on the load. Also when I’m low on space I use my hangers for my shirts and dry them on the shower rod. I don’t do this with sweaters because they will stretch. I know it takes longer but my clothes look pretty good for the length of time I have them. Great video.
I have a tip... if you have a garment you would like to keep a while, only wear it out and as soon as you get home take it off. In the weekends or after work/class I'm usually in some older clothes but if I go out say for lunch I change into my good clothes. This allows for more use or time spent seen in it out and less need for washing. Ever since I started doing this my black Jean's have lasted me 10 times longer.
I do the White Clothes first as well as Dishtowels and Dishcloths. I use Bleach only for this type of Clothes. It cleans and sterilizes. When I smell a Dishcloth and it smells bad I don't use it because I know I am putting Bacteria on The Plates, and Glasses. Then I do the Light Clothes then The Dark Clothes last. I always use a Fabric Sheet so no static comes along and then I fold everything depending on what it is. I Iron alot of my clothes depending on what they are. I keep my Clothes in The Closet, underwear and bras in First Drawer and Socks & Boxers and T Shirts in my second Drawer. It helps me in the morning when I prepare for work.
Definitely contemplating a drying rack after watching this (I loath the dryer but wasn't sure I had any other options). So much of my apartment is carpeted though, so I was always worried the clothes would drip in a big way. I'm guessing that's not the case though since you didn't seem to need anything under the rack?
Usually the spin cycle is good enough to get most of the excess water out. Only time I have had some dripping is with thicker fabric, like denim. Check your clothes after the next wash, if they’re too wet try a longer spin cycle. Good luck!
Love the folding tips. Definitely have to try that. One tip for everyone, source your laundry detergent from whatever has a good rating on ewg.org, they rate products on how harmful they are to people and the environment.
Majority of clothes these days don't leak dye after they are washed once. You can mix darks and lights in like 90% of clothes. You should really separate clothes by hot and cold. Hot washes for underwear, towels, bedding, all the more gross stuff. Cold/Warm for normal clothes. And speciality wash for specialised items like jerseys, some dresses, etc.
This seems like a very elegant way to clean your very nice clothes, but I think I’ll stick to putting my basic graphic tees in the washer on quick wash
Wait wait wait! I haven’t in the last 15 years used a deo that wasn’t 100% natural- luckily I don’t sweat much. But I still stay away from white shirts because they still have yellowing.
Love your video's. If possible can you tell me where you got these boxes 3:19 you store your clothes in? They seem to have the perfect size for organizing clothes this way.
adamglisson1 fabric softener will reduce the life of the clothing and can actually cause stains ( I have had this personally happen they are a pain to remover) and when you air dry no matter what softener you put in your clothes with dry stiff.
I mainly use it for my Suits, Wool and Dry Clean Only Garments, but I'm sure it is safe for all fabrics. I think it is mainly advertised as a wool spray since it has a cedar smell to ward off moths and other bugs that like to eat wool.
Do you not have trouble with the detergent not all rinsing out on the lower water settings? I usually use the extra rinse option to make sure. But I use Tide, not Meyer's.
I've used other detergents before but never had an issue with lower water settings. If I do a large load of laundry I will up the water setting to compensate.
Detergent streaks as in white streaks from the leftover detergent. I haven't experienced any oiliness with the light setting. I don't use softener, jsut detergent.
If you are really conscious about water-saving, you would switch to a front loading washing machine. Front-loaders remove tough stains more easily, using less water and energy-even compared with newer high-efficiency top-loaders.
The detergent scent is pretty mild, that's one of the reasons I like it. You can only really smell the detergent if you bury your nose into the fabric.
Love the content and aesthetic 👏🏻👏🏻

Soap kills bacteria anyways.
The_Overlander who told you that?
Brigita S shhhhhhh, don’t break their heart.
🧼 washes away bacteria too. The more soiled the item, the more soap and agitation it needs to be cleaned.

I got it on Amazon from Yamazaki home.

Yes, waiting on some equipment to come in, to better record it!

you should do a tour of your living space
It’s on its way, couple of small furnishing left, then the video will begin production!
Hi-where is the wooden mini clothing rack from?
Where did you cop your gray tees from? Thx!
The pit stain can happen with natural deodorant due to the oil used in them.
where do you get that chair man and love the vids keep up the good work!
Thank you! The chair is a replica Eames chair that I found at my local thrift shop.
I’m sure it would have been featured in the vid if so, but no fabric softener or anything?
adamglisson1 fabric softener will reduce the life of the clothing and can actually cause stains ( I have had this personally happen they are a pain to remover) and when you air dry no matter what softener you put in your clothes with dry stiff.

I haven't had issues with detergent streaks. The only time I use extra rinse is if something is extremely dirty.
Hueguh not sure what detergent streaks are. But no oiliness/greasiness to the clothes when using the light settings?
Detergent streaks as in white streaks from the leftover detergent. I haven't experienced any oiliness with the light setting. I don't use softener, jsut detergent.
Your content is so amazing bro! Keep it up

I got them from Ikea, I linked the exact model in the description if you want to check it out!

what kind of clothing rack were you using?
Great work! You have a subscriber extra. Wich watchstrap do you use on your 14060?
My current favorite is the Premium SIngle Pass Natos from Crowne and Buckle.

We had a front load washing machine at our old place and we loved it! Unfortunately, this apartment came with a top loading one.
Does the laundry rack leave wrinkles or deform it at all? I’d imagine you’d see a line on the shirts?
The rack has decent sized rails that don't leave hard wrinkles, but yes I have to break out the iron from time to time.
What is the model of your washing machine?
Do you have a leather strap as well to go along with the submariner?
Yes, I usually wear it in the fall-winter time!
Make a video on how to take shower, I dunno how to clean myself.
Do you wring our your clothes before you hang them to dry, or hang them straight from the washer?
Usually, the spin cycle from our washer is good enough to remove most of the excess water such that the clothes aren't dripping water when hung.
It’s your voice? Idk legit binge watching. I will try to fold my clothes like this
ughhh wish I could do this in college!
They sell smaller drying racks if space is an issue!
Do you have any problems with the scent of your detergent throwing off your cologne?
The detergent scent is pretty mild, that's one of the reasons I like it. You can only really smell the detergent if you bury your nose into the fabric.
so do we need to iron t-shir?
Where do you get your simple tees?
Uniqlo and Asket
Did you wash underwear separately from outer clothes?
Where u get your hangers?!!!
