  • KAYO JACKAL 200 First Look Review
    When looking for what manufacturer might step up and build the next full-size adult sport ATV, the head editor over at Dirt Wheels Magazine mentioned Chinese manufacturer Kayo as a brand to watch. Kayo currently offers a wide range of small to mid-size sport ATVs ranging between 70 and 200cc
    In many riders opinions a true sport ATV should have a manual clutch equipped manual shift transmission, be chain driven, have separate front and rear brakes, and some would even insist it have a solid rear axle. The Kayo Jackal 200 possesses all of those, making it a compact, smaller displacement true sport ATV. Dirt Wheels had many positive things to say about the Kayo Jackal 200 in their Sept 2020 Test. You can read their full test article on the Jackal 200 at dirtwheelsmag.com.
    Based on everything we’d seen, we felt the Kayo was worth a serious look so we lined up a Jackal 200 to test. Our local dealer Octane Outlet of Eastgate was happy to provide us with a walk around prior to pick up.

    We're excited to test a sport ATV we've never reviewed before! We're looking forward to hearing your tnoughts or experiances on the Jackal 200. Could Kayo be the next to import a a full-size adult sport ATV? If its decant and it gets the other manufacturers motivated, we say, bring it. SUBSCRIBE for our upcoming test of the Kayo Jackal 200.

    Looks nice I might pick one up to pare with my grizzly 700 at that price point to scratch my sport quad itch.

      That's a good suggestion. We have a few shootouts planned already between our ATV and UTV channel. It might be tough to squeeze another one in this year. We will evaluate the Mayo and see if the need is there.

    I looked all over the internet for suspension travel on the ZheJiang Au200 ATV (12.2 HP BTW 4 speed manual) but couldn't find it, which is hillarious, I found a recent Chinese ATV of similar spec had about 100mm front and rear. What is neat is that Kayo is really into making Legit dirt bikes, 2 stroke and 4 stroke with mostly name brand components for Racing in China.

    • @ATVonDemand
      @ATVonDemand  Год назад +2

      Nice research! Yeah, we would love to see one of those two strokes in an AYV chassis. We did some measuring at home with the shocks on and we estimate around 5 inches front and rear give or take.

    • @Kingsoupturbo
      @Kingsoupturbo Год назад +1

      @@ATVonDemand That sounds about right for travel, plenty for its intended purpose. The 2 stroke in that chassis would be pretty awesome, modern Banshee! I"ve rebuilt a few Chinese 250cc air cooled dirt bikes in the past, made some videos about it, parts availability is always the issue, plastics for sure, but things like 1 off intake manifolds that curve in a direction required for the factory airbox, but that does not exist anywhere else, can be issues, but standard Chinese engines (zongshen) parts are no problem. They're really interesting in terms of value for money, with the skyrockting price of dirtbikes\atv's, nice to see other options, the Chinese can make it as nice or as cheap as you want it. Have a great summer!

    So how does that match up to a DS250 overall , I have a 2019 DS250... Love it when its running but always seems to have carb problems.

    • @ATVonDemand
      @ATVonDemand  9 месяцев назад

      Modern gas is probably causing your carb issues. You can't leave it setting in the carburetor long. To be completely honest, the DS250 is 1 machine we have not had the chance to test. We need to look into that. The Kayo is the next machine we will be filming. Look for a test in the coming weeks.

      @@ATVonDemand We have 2 Kayo 70s for my kids , running the same gas and they start up no problem... all the time , the kids love them. My DS 250 we had to swap a carb already.. when its running its a blast.. small light and manurable with just enough power to have fun.

    I think it would be great if the "off brand" companies would bring larger sport quads to the market. 👍👍

      @@ATVonDemand A liquid cooled 300 cc thumper for the woods would be a riot to ride, not sure what Kayo's 300 is rated at hp wise A modern day Mojave type machine would be so cool.

      As long as the quality of the materials and manufacturing are good. It certainly doesn't appear to feature the disposable feel of some of the $1,000 junkers we've seen come out of China. We're gonna beat on it a bit and see if it breaks. 😀
